Publisher's Summary

A rumor has persisted in the vampire world of a dark slayer - a woman - who travels with a wolf pack and who destroys any vampire who crosses her path. Mysterious, elusive and seemingly impossible to kill, she is the one hunter who strikes terror into the hearts of the undead.

She is Ivory Malinov. Her only brethren, the wolves. Long ago betrayed by her people, abandoned by her family, and cast out by everyone she held dear, Ivory has lived centuries without companionship or love. She has sustained her sanity by preparing for one purpose - to destroy her greatest enemy. Until the night she picks up the scent of a man, her unexpected salvation. Her lifemate. The curse of all Carpathian women.

He is Razvan. Branded a criminal, detested and feared, he is a dragonseeker borne of one of the greatest Carpathian lineages, only to be raised as its most despised - and captive - enemy. Fleeing from his lifetime of imprisonment, Razvan now seeks the dawn to end his terrible existence. Instead he has found his deliverance in the Dark Slayer.

In spirit, in flesh and blood, in love, and in war, Ivory and Razvan are made for each other.

For as long as they dare to live.

Loved it!!

I loved it!! I loved the fact that they had two voices instead of a man trying to do a woman's voice or a woman trying to do a man's voice. I loved the fact that they used accents and actually spoke the carpathian words as well. All of Christine's Carpathian books should be done with a man and a women for the voices. Monotone of just one person just does not do justice to her Carpathian books. This Book excelled all the others with the exception of Dark Celebration. Wish there were more readings like it.

Dark Slayer: Book 20 -- My favorite yet

I absolutely loved this book! I LOVED the narrators! They made it fun for me and interesting. I wouldn't mind more of the books to be read in by that group. It was easier and made it easy to listen...even though I missed my exit and had to back-track back to my destination. It was a fun. I've listened to most of the books and there are some that are great, some good, and some ok. This one and Dark Demon are my favorite!

I can't do it! I just can't do it...

Would you ever listen to anything by Christine Feehan again?

No. I have started and stopped this Book so many times... I give up. Its my worst Audible Purchase to date. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Phil Gigante. That's why I bought this title. The Book and Jane Brown are horrible. A good Narrator can make me enjoy a lack luster title... but here you have a bad performance from Jane Brown, Phil not in the Lead Role... and a terrible story line... I have no idea what these people were thinking with the reviews they have given this title.

Annoying

Annoying accents.
Annoying echo used for internal voice.
Unnecessarily long segments of foreign language to suffer through.
Maybe it's less annoying if you start at book#1?

Uggh!

This is one of the few audiobooks that I've purchased that was so bad, I couldn't finish it.

The readers were both terrific, it's the writing that was bad.

Sorry, bad doesn't cover it. The writing was atrocious.

The characters are two tough cookies, both surviving years of torture, but for 90% of the book they wax on and on about how much they love, respect, and admire one another. Bleh!

The author must have been aiming for the Most Repetitive book award.

I can deal with a lot, but when you start to expect hearing the same 10 minutes of lovesick, gooey dialog after every scene, you stop rolling your eyes and start looking for a trash so I can to throw up.

Speaking of vomit, the sex scenes are just plain gross. Next time I hear the words "Liquid Cream" I'm going to gag.

Now if that hasn't convinced you not to read this book, I don't know what will. You're either extremely stupid or your the pathetic author of this book.

Loved the book, but...

I purchased this book on its release date. I also happened to have an extra credit, so I downloaded this audiobook. I read about three-fourths of the book, and listened to rest. I loved the book, the advancement and interaction of the characters. It finally answers a lot of questions and brings resolution to some problems that Christine Feehan has been leading up to for several books. There were some very creative and new concepts in this book that I really liked. Overall, I'd give the book five stars. I've listened to these narrators do the past couple of Dark Series books and really enjoyed them. However, the female narrator's accent in this one totally cracked me up (she reminded me a bit of Steve Martin's "wild and crazy guy" character). I'm glad I didn't rely totally on the audiobook to gauge whether or not I liked the book. If you can get past the silly accent and have liked past Carpathian novels, I think you'll enjoy Dark Slayer.

Did they pay the Editor??

I enjoy the writer's play on the "two halves of one soul" concept; but the gawd awful rhyming must stop-it's painful. I've listened/read each of the books; I enjoyed Possession. Unlike Possession, Slayer does not show growth. The horrid rhyming makes it challenging to want to continue. While I get the excitement of developing your own language, the repetitive nature of the text is grating in English and just bleeping annoying in Carpathian. The writer has a great concept, and no one is better at love/sex scenes, but excise the terms "feminine sheaf," "molten ANYTHING," "fiery ANYTHING," and "wet channel" from the lexicon. The writer's editor is not helping her.

Dark Slayer

This is the best book in the Dark series far. It was wonderful that two who had suffered so much were rewarded with each other and a intense love. I love this series of books, ready for the next one.

Brilliant

This is the story of Ivory Malinov and Razvan. Ivory known as the rumored Dark Slayer who hunts and travels with wolves strikes terror into vampires. She was long ago betrayed and cast aside by her family and her people. Razvan. Branded a criminal, detested and feared, he is a dragonseeker borne of one of the greatest Carpathian lineages, only to be raised as its most despised--and captive--enemy. This tale is at times deeply sad and at other times hilarious and I loved it and the way it is told in this audio book. I highly recommend it and the series as a whole.
