Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Iris Johansen is back with another high octane thriller that will leave your mind racing and your heart pounding.

Despite her tragic childhood, violin prodigy Cara Delaney has finally found peace in her career as a professional musician and stability in her relationship with her guardians, forensic sculptor Eve Duncan and ex-Navy SEAL Joe Quinn. If only Jock Gavin, Cara's lifelong friend and a man with his own twisted history, would even talk to her, everything would be perfect.

But the carefully constructed life Cara has built for herself is suddenly threatened when she is kidnapped by a mysterious man from her grandfather's past, setting off a violent chain of events that puts everyone Cara loves in danger. Will Cara become a tribute to her family's dark past, or will she be able to keep herself and her loved ones alive?

Another good story

Liz Rodgers is great at reading this. Story does drag out a little bit overall a good book. Love this series. Suggest to anyone to start from book one.

hard to finish

I struggled to finish this book. I found it drawn out and more boring then not.

Narrator is cold and imperious with her characters portrayals.

So much potential I feel is being degraded by the narrator. The last three I just didn't think I could ever listen to anymore. Kyria is a character I wanted to see her evolvement into the adult world and where her adventures would lead her. I also like that Michael is becoming a strong character,c for new interesting facets to come shining through. I've read all the books beginning with Eve and the spin off characters. But, to be honest, the narrator leaves me cold enough to call it quits.

Another great book

I don't think there could ever be a bad Irish Johnson book. Strong characters, intrigue and Elisabeth Rodgers. A hit.

ANOTHER HOME RUN!

Love this series!

I will not be redundant by writing what’s already in the summary.

What I can say is that this is another great Eve Duncan story. And I will also add that Michael is now ten years old, and his “gifts” are growing, which made for a more interesting story.

The narration was very enjoyable, too.

Recommended story!

Whiney characters.

If I hadn’t wanted something to listen to while driving I would have never finished the book. Whiney characters and unrealistic situations.

amazing

bad man captures woman. friends rescue her. bad man captures friend. remaining friends hunt and kill bad man. the end.... no interesting plot, no interesting setting... the whole book could have been written in a single paragraph.. the fact that anyone could stretch this story into a whole book was definitely the most intriguing thing about it.
