Publisher's Summary

From best-selling and award-winning author Jay Kristoff comes the thrilling and heart-breaking conclusion to The Nevernight Chronicle.

Mia Corvere, gladiatii, escaped slave and infamous assassin, is on the run. After the greatest games in Godsgrave’s history ended with the most audacious murders in the history of the Itreyan Republic, Mia finds herself pursued by Blades of the Red Church and soldiers of the Luminatii legion.

She may never escape the City of Bridges and Bones alive. Her mentor Mercurio is now in the clutches of her enemies. Her own family wishes her dead. And her nemesis, Consul Julius Scaeva, stands but a breath from total dominance over the Republic. But beneath the city, a dark secret awaits.

Together with her lover Ashlinn, brother Jonnen and a mysterious benefactor returned from beyond the veil of death, she must undertake a perilous journey across the Republic, seeking the final answer to the riddle of her life. Truedark approaches. Night is falling on the Republic for perhaps the final time.

Critic Reviews

"If you love Robin Hobb or George R. R. Martin, you will adore Nevernight." (Starburst)

"With a delicate balance of the ancient and the magical, this tense and brutal tale is unflinching, thrilling and satisfying." (Publishers Weekly)

"Joins lyrical high fantasy, Pratchett-like humour and unflinching descriptions of violence [...] something special." (SciFi Now)

A fantastic end to a fantastic story.

If you loved the first 2 books in the series you'll certainly love this one too, it ends bittersweet and full of hope but best of all satisfyingly.

Better than a Game of Thrones

I cannot believe I said that. A Game of Thrones used to be my favourite series ... until GJJ Martin sold his soul to the television abandoned it. Kristoff’s characters and twists are at least as exciting, and he finishes the series beautifully! The narrator was fabulous too. Thank you so much. This has been a wonderful journey, which I will never forget.

Great book, shame about the performance

This is the first audiobook I bought in the trilogy as I was so gripped and wanted to keep reading when I was on the go.

The book is brilliant, but I'm sorry to say that I was appalled by the narration. I really don't say this to make the narrator feel bad as it doesn't mean he's not talented reading other work. However, this novel contains a lot of female dialogue and main characters, and I was so disappointed to hear some of the most badass, fierce and brilliant characters I've ever read, reduced to gum-smacking dizzy teenage girls in this narrator's voice. I don't know why he felt the need to make them sound air-headed and whiny when they're meant to be so smart and strong.

It was so deeply disappointing and completely ruined the audio for me.

Again, if the narrator reads this, I don't want them to feel badly, but they do need to evaluate the way they approach their female voices.

If Hermione shagged Harry…..

…. I imagine it would be a bit like these books!
Or Tolkien described a night of debauchery between Aragorn and Arwen!??
And if either of those images offends you, then I wouldn’t buy these books!
….. I loved them….

Amazing story telling

Love this trilogy! Great story telling, very self aware and full of humour and plot twists. Characters are really interesting and well rounded and the story has an amazing pace. Great adventure epic.

Not worth the investment

Listened to the first two, managed to get through half of this and just couldn't get find the motivation to finish. Without the sex and the swearing there's just no story that grabs you enough. Very disappointed. I'll be asking for my credits back.

Never flinch, never fear and never ...ever forgot!

.....This book, along with it's unforgettable predecessors, nevernight and godsgrave, have stole a piece of my soul. The strength of characters has left me in awe of Jay Kristoff's literary ability. I laughed and cried and laughed some more. In a tale you find yourself encouraging murder and deception and willing on evil acts because you feel apart of it, just as if it was your own vengeance being played out . What can I say this book becomes apart of you. And will be read time and time again.

Fantastic

The nevernight trilogy was recommended by audible for me to read after reading another of Jay Kristoff’s books, ‘empire of the vampire’.

After how much I loved that book I had to give the nevernight trilogy a try and wasn’t disappointed. Fantastic author definitely one of my favourite authors now for epic fantasy. The story and characters had depth that make Kristoff’s books a unique read.

My young son has started reading epic fantasy novels and loves them nearly as much as me. This is a book I will keep aside for him to read when he’s a bit older. This was a story I don’t want him to miss.

So far but so little

What started as a fantastic series fizzled and slunk it's way to an ending.
The plot became jarring and forced with little to keep me interested.
Spent most of the time considering relationships with little action and less intrigue.
Disappointed is an understatement.

Superbly Written Tale.

When All Is Blood, Blood Is All. Wow what a fantastic conclusion in the Nevernight series, absolutley brilliant storytelling that leaves you in awe of Jay Kristoffs amazing world. A fast paced action packed blood drenched tale, vulgar mouthed assassins that will have hanging on every page wishing that there is no end in sight to this epic journey of vengeance. Fantastic characters, plot and the dark, oh very dark setting where the shadow daemons come out to play. I love the way the author takes the mickey of his footnotes in the story and it brings a bit humorous fun to a tale where there is just so much stabbyness and death. Darkdawn follows Mia Corvere teenage assassin, ex gladiator, former member of the Red Church dedicated to the worship of the goddess of Night and murder and dark kin a magic user that can manuplate shadows to her will. This book finds Mia on the run from the events of Godsgrave, the attempted assassination of her arch enemies the leaders of the republic that destroyed her Familia with a hostage in tow reeling from the fallout of realizing that she has been used as a pawn in the great game that her allies aren’t who she thought and that several characters thought to be dead and gone are back. Will Mia get her revenge that she is so obsessed with, read to find out, you will absolutely love the twists and turns in this superbly written trilogy. The narrator Holter Graham has given his all and has brought this amazing series to life. I very highly recommend...🖤🗡💀💥

Loved all three books

This series held me to the end. It's not for the faint hearted , with the swearing, sex, and rivers of blood. I liked the raw feeling of the book. It felt right for a tale of this type. I highly recommend it
