He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Good Listen
The plot of this book is a little off the beat (concerning voodoo). However I still found this to be a good listen with a good pace and character development.
I gave it 4 starts because the ending (I thought) was a bit open, it didn't tie the ends as much as I would have liked. But overall this tale is suspenseful.
Christopher Lane does an excellent job as a narrator.

Leaves you wanting more
Excellent listen - oddly enough my first Dean Koontz book. Dean is an amazing writer, but I found myself wishing there was a bit more to this universe. It was a very short book and I wish that Dawson's character was better utilized after he discovered his potential.
Regardless, a great listen.

a DEVILISH thrill ride......4 STARS~~~~
PLOT: Voodoo power scares up some goblins to come after a good guy. Thrills galore.
Jack has two small children that become the "target" of a Voodoo Master who summons the power of Evil and opens the gates of hell. Horrific yes. .....Jack is a policeman and widower. He becomes romantically linked to his partner Rebecca. When a Voodoo Curse gives the power to sick "evil goblins" like creatures to kill his children Jack must find a way to stop the evil. I was not a big horror fan til this book. The "goblins' are detailed and the chase to get the children is spelled out in a very scary way to keep you on the edge of your seat. Just when you think someone is safe they return. This starts slow and the last half of the book is super exciting. Koontz is the master of details and he has you guessing all the way. the READER is excellent and can do many accents that needed to keep the story moving along. ONE of the BEST of the early Koontz stories. I liked it. GREAT 4 STAR audiobook.

He is one of my favorite writers and I'm really glad they are putting his older works on audio. I'm not into VooDoo but this book was a real page turner! It was very easy to listen to and the narrator did an Excellent job with the voices and "supernatural" sounds. I highly recommend this one.

Edge of Your Seat Listen
This is one of those books that I would gladly listen to more than once. It is detailed without being drawn out or boring. I enjoyed the drama that unfolded around the hero's children who are at the heart of this story. If you love science fiction, you'll love this yarn about the supernatural. If you're curious about the supernatural, this one will whet your appetite. If you're a fan of Dean Koontz, he won't let you down. I feel as though he put some of his best efforts into this one.

What’s going on...Boring
Dean Koontz is either great or lousy. This one falls into the latter category. I might give it another chance, but with so many good to great books to read....it will not be a priority. I really like Koontz, but steer clear of this one.
