Publisher's Summary

Number 99 Dash Taylor. Rookie defensive end for the Boston Tomcats. Two hundred eighty-five pounds of fast-twitch muscle. Nickname: Big D.

I’ve been sacking quarterbacks since junior high and causing trouble since I was born.

My college coach thinks I have a bad attitude, so he makes me take ballet lessons as punishment. If I don’t turn things around on the field next season, he’ll bench me. I have no idea what ballet has to do with football, but it turns out the real punishment is that the beautiful dance teacher refuses to get involved with me.

Two years later, we cross paths again, and it’s not the other team’s offensive line who brings me to my knees—it’s a hundred-pound ballerina.

She doesn’t think I’m boyfriend material, and I used to think that, too.

I’ve been a beast on the field and in the bedroom, but now I’m going to prove that I can be a man for her…and for our surprise baby.

I thought I was all about the smash and dash.

But getting Charlie Bardot pregnant changed everything.

This is a duet, multicast audiobook production!

GATDAMN

Seriously so delish.

The character development was strong, as was the story development. I loved the strength of the main characters, but also the friendships and family that surround them - they make the characters who they are and I love ‘em all.

Sexy sexy sexy - gatdamn. Seriously wtf, so hot.

Banter was awesome, strong story with conflict development and resolution was great and believable - a must-have for me.

And I loved the baby factor. There’s just something about a sexy daddy with big ass arms. Woo! All the baby and daddy stories. YUS.

Loved the voice acting. Everyone did a fantastic job - dude, I loved mama though and she stuck out to me lol. Well done, everyone.

Cute Story

Really good book. Just a couple of gripes…I wish Charlie’s character (and her mom’s for that matter) had been a little more likable. Also, I just don’t understand two people living together, having a baby together and professing their love for each other and still not talking about the “real” stuff. Further, reassessing life goals, adjusting priorities and making new dreams isn’t really rocket science. Overall, 4 star story. Super cute. Dash was the MVP, hands down. Narration team was exceptional!

Hilarious and Amazing!

“Dash: Rushing the Play” is a sweet, funny, heartfelt and steamy rom-com football romance that left me with all the feels and the biggest smile on my face after I finished. Kayley Loring and Connor Crais brought their top play to blitz the literary gridiron with an amazing story that bullrushes its way into the end zone to win the game.

The timeline of the story was so perfect and one of my favorite ways to experience a new couple. We get to meet them as college kids and then as adults. The character development of Dash and Charlie exceeded my expectations and they have moved up to one of my favorite book couples. I love a big, carefree guy with a protective side and Dash was all of that and more. He truly went from a young man to a full on man who is husband material and a great father. Charlie is independent, smart and not afraid to go after her dreams. I loved these two together, their chemistry was off the charts hot. And there were so many laugh out loud moments that had me cracking up and smiling. The antics of the Taylor brothers and the Tomcats teammates are the cherry on top to this book.

Connor Crais and Emma Wilder were amazing as Dash and Charlie. I love that Connor narrated the character he helped create. This is one my favorite performances by Emma Wilder. I loved listening to her bring Charlie to life.

Connor as DASH🥰🥰

Connor Crais as DASH made me want to relisten to this book but only for his parts. I struggled with Charli once she started her pregnancy journey. Like, she was a lot. I didn't like how she treated him, especially when Dash was so freaking patient with her. It was a good story. I don't know that this could ever happen in real life, but that is why we love these books. This book also had good spice!!! Connor kills it. I think I tolerate Emma in books bc her characters are usually pretty good and she is always reading with a great male lead. This was not a good choice for her. She made charli seem extra whiney and at one point I just skipped through. I bought the Kindle book and read through it. Again the story is great overall and I am glad I spent my credit.

Great story!💜

Not as funny as book 1 but still just as good for a contemporary romance.
I love the sexual tension between the characters and the overall storyline.
The narration was good, however, sometimes the voices were too low to hear. Also, I believe Emma Wilder is a good narrator, however, I’m not a fan of her particular style.
This is book 2 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I recommend this book/series.

Fun Rom Com

Dash and Charlie were hilarious and sweet with plenty of heat and they were so much fun. I love the friendship they developed and the relationships they had with their families. Emma Wilder and Connor Crais were perfect duo to bring this couple to life. Emma brings out Charlie’s strong and determined sides. Connor was perfect at bringing out Dash’s cocky but sweet personality. Mackenzie Cartwright and Evan Parker round out this audio great as the supporting cast.

Another great sports romance from the writing duo Kayley and Connor, can’t wait for the next Tomcats couple.

It was everything I expected and more!

What a read! The story takes me on some highs and lows but the overall vibe makes my heart pound. I completely loved these characters! Usually the male leads take the spotlight for me. Don’t get me wrong I loved Dash and all his attitude and bigness but he is sharing this spotlight with Charlie. I really saw and felt the connection between them. I could easily see her making him a better man and player then in return he did that for her. Just lovely! The texting, the nicknames and the whole process is just delightful! I also just want to say I would have LoVED to be seated at the dinner table for the pec dancing scene. I can only imagine!

Secondary characters are plentiful! I enjoyed meeting and greeting the families and the other players. This has some sobering moments as well as some fun ones with these characters.

Overall it is a wonderful second book in the series which I wish I could read again for the first time. When the audio comes out I will again be enjoying the story of the beast and his tiny dancer!

Football beast and tiny dancer ballerina

The duet performances of the 4 narrators really added to the performance of this story about 2 young driven professionals trying to succeed in their opposite highly competitive professions while learning to live in each other’s worlds. In the past I have not always enjoyed Emma Wilder’s breathy, extra long pauses in speech but this performance was smoother and very fitting. The result was a believable, enjoyable read well worth the purchase price. The developing friendships with each other and others was a bit dragged out, and the comic relief when it came was welcome and hysterical. A bit more of those scenes and perhaps a bit of music would have put the story over the top. There were a good amount of well written and narrated romantic and sexy scenes but these were balanced with developing the 2 main characters growth in their relationship as well as their maturity in decision making and their goals. Dash is of course more obvious but Charlie’s growth and sacrifices are very relatable. This was a nice blend of escapism and reality!

Great but! Why does the MFC have to be such a B?

Loved most of the book. Loved Dash. But!… Charlie was such an annoying B-word for more than 50% of the book. She was selfish, snarky and self absorbed. It impacted the story for me because she was unlikeable too often.

A must listen!

I had read an ARC copy of the book and I was very excited when the audio came out. Kayley and Connor did a great job with the book, the story is so funny and entertaining and all of the narrators are excellent with this version. It was so worth the wait!

If you are looking for a funny, feel good listen with 10/10 narration, then I would recommend giving this book a go.
