Publisher's Summary

"Nisha Sharma's Dating Dr. Dil is what would happen if you put all my favorite romantic comedy tropes into a blender: a frothy, snarky, hilarious treat with a gooey, heartwarming center. The perfect addition to any rom-com lover's shelf." —Emily Henry, #1 New York Times bestselling author of People We Meet on Vacation

Nisha Sharma’s new romantic comedy features enemies to lovers, a cast of best friends, and a gaggle of aunties determined to make a match.

Hi! I’m Kareena Mann. As cheesy as it sounds, I’m looking for my soulmate. In four months. And he must gain the approval of my meddling aunties.

Kareena dreams of having a perfect love story like her parents did. That’s why on the morning of her thirtieth birthday, she’s decided to suit up and enter the dating arena. When her widowed father announces he’s retiring and selling their home after her sister’s engagement party, Kareena makes a deal with him. If she can find her soulmate by the date of the party, he’ll gift her the house, and she’ll be able to keep her mother’s legacy alive.

Hi, I’m Dr. Prem Verma, host of the Dr. Dil Show. Prem means love, Dil means heart, and I’m a cardiologist. Don’t let my name fool you. I only fix broken hearts in the literal sense.

Prem doesn’t have time for romance, which is why it’s no surprise when his first meeting with Kareena goes awry. Their second encounter is worse when their on-air debate about love goes viral. Now Prem’s largest community center donor is backing out because Prem's reputation as a heart-health expert is at risk. To get back in his donor’s good graces, he needs to fix his image fast, and dating Kareena is his only option.

Even though they have warring interests, the more time Prem spends with Kareena, the more he thinks she’s might actually be the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. In this Taming of the Shrew re-imagination, for Prem and Kareena to find their happily ever after, they must admit that hate has turned into fate.

“Bursting with character, spicy tension and laughs, Dating Dr. Dil is the enemies to lovers dream book!” —Tessa Bailey, New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Summer

I wanted to love it....

Some tiktok reviewer brought me to this book. I was excited because he raved about it. I wanted to love it and truthfully it was entertainment for my long drives. I am a sucker for the 'enemy/lover' story, but this had an air of pre-pubescent 'draw out the desperation' to it--which was only emphasized by the female narrator. To be fair, narration is a hard job, and I take my hat off to those in the field because you cannot please them all. This was one of those time for me. The desperation of the storyline was magnified by the reader who ended every sentence of the female characters with sheer frenetic desperation that bordered on what sounded like talking while constipated.

It’ll Fit

It’ll fit, alright. It’ll fit over and over and over again. Whew. This is a spicy one. Saw this book all over TikTok and I’m really happy I bought it. Prem is premo book boyfriend material. We love a clueless king who falls ass over head in love with a boss babe. Kareena’s search for love as a 30 year old career driven woman is something that is going to hit home for a lot of my fellow millennials. Narration is on point. The story is heartfelt, and funny, and spicy. Yes, yes, yes. An absolute pleasure to listen to.

They're all kinda not great people

I expected to like this book a lot more than I did, which is a huge bummer. I listened to the Audiobook on audible and maybe that's part of why it hit wrong.

A lot of scenes and interactions, including the sex, felt kinda cringy. Karina's family is awful to her the whole time, which succeeds in making us feel bad for her, and pushes her toward Prem for all the wrong reasons.

I loved the Desi cultural rep and info. I don't know how accurate it is (I've got one close friend who's Indian and one who's Pakistani, and it matches what they've described).

Overall, it was fine, and I know lots of people really enjoyed it. But Prem was such a jerk for most of it, and all the other suitors were even worse, so there's not one example of a decent guy. And I really hate how often Prem called his dick by name and referred to it like it was a person. Super yikes.

Just Okay at Best

Difficult to get past the narration, especially when the female lead character told by the male character sounds like a 65 year-old woman. Characters are not particularly likeable and chemistry never develops. Would not recommend this book.

Is love actions or words?

I loved this love story.

The twists and turns until the couple realizes they had what they needed from their first encounter is full of joyous adventure. I hope there is a part two titled Married to Dr. Dill!

Not for me.

Narration was terrible. the girl voice trying to make the guy's voice killed it for me and viceversa. The constant news abroad was annoying. Story was ok but the voices just killed it, unable to finish it.

The Perfect RomCom

I loved this book. it took me a few chapters to fully immerse myself, but once I was there I was hooked. it was laugh out loud funny, I love it when the guy falls for the FMC and denying it all the way. the arguments were fire, and the make ups even better.

also I don't understand when people complain about reading the same type of story. duh. everything is a variation of one thing or another. I look for romcoms like this so that I can relax. Both MCs are stubborn and relatable, would read and listen to again.

If you want to laugh out loud, cheer the main characters on, explore your boundaries, search within, and find yourself interacting with the monologue this is a book for you. 🫶🏼

If you haven’t followed the author, I recommend it highly too!

Freaking loved it

Amazing. Had all the right elements.
if you didnt like it, most likely you can't appreciate good writing and cross cultural interchange. I only hope someone at Netflix makes this into a movie like Nisha Sharmas fancast.
