Publisher's Summary

"Nisha Sharma's Dating Dr. Dil is what would happen if you put all my favorite romantic comedy tropes into a blender: a frothy, snarky, hilarious treat with a gooey, heartwarming center. The perfect addition to any rom-com lover's shelf." (Emily Henry, number one New York Times best-selling author of People We Meet on Vacation)

Nisha Sharma’s new romantic comedy features enemies to lovers, a cast of best friends, and a gaggle of aunties determined to make a match.

Hi! I’m Kareena Mann. As cheesy as it sounds, I’m looking for my soul mate. In four months. And he must gain the approval of my meddling aunties.

Kareena dreams of having a perfect love story like her parents did. That’s why on the morning of her 30th birthday, she’s decided to suit up and enter the dating arena. When her widowed father announces he’s retiring and selling their home after her sister’s engagement party, Kareena makes a deal with him. If she can find her soul mate by the date of the party, he’ll gift her the house, and she’ll be able to keep her mother’s legacy alive.

Hi, I’m Dr. Prem Verma, host of the Dr. Dil Show. Prem means love, Dil means heart, and I’m a cardiologist. Don’t let my name fool you. I only fix broken hearts in the literal sense.

Prem doesn’t have time for romance, which is why it’s no surprise when his first meeting with Kareena goes awry. Their second encounter is worse when their on-air debate about love goes viral. Now Prem’s largest community center donor is backing out because Prem's reputation as a heart health expert is at risk. To get back in his donor’s good graces, he needs to fix his image fast, and dating Kareena is his only option.

Even though they have warring interests, the more time Prem spends with Kareena, the more he thinks she’s might actually be the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. In this Taming of the Shrew reimagination, for Prem and Kareena to find their happily ever after, they must admit that hate has turned into fate.

“Bursting with character, spicy tension and laughs, Dating Dr. Dil is the enemies to lovers dream book!” (Tessa Bailey, New York Times best-selling author of It Happened One Summer)

It’ll Fit

It’ll fit, alright. It’ll fit over and over and over again. Whew. This is a spicy one. Saw this book all over TikTok and I’m really happy I bought it. Prem is premo book boyfriend material. We love a clueless king who falls ass over head in love with a boss babe. Kareena’s search for love as a 30 year old career driven woman is something that is going to hit home for a lot of my fellow millennials. Narration is on point. The story is heartfelt, and funny, and spicy. Yes, yes, yes. An absolute pleasure to listen to.

I wanted to love it....

Some tiktok reviewer brought me to this book. I was excited because he raved about it. I wanted to love it and truthfully it was entertainment for my long drives. I am a sucker for the 'enemy/lover' story, but this had an air of pre-pubescent 'draw out the desperation' to it--which was only emphasized by the female narrator. To be fair, narration is a hard job, and I take my hat off to those in the field because you cannot please them all. This was one of those time for me. The desperation of the storyline was magnified by the reader who ended every sentence of the female characters with sheer frenetic desperation that bordered on what sounded like talking while constipated.

Just okay

I was confused half of the time with Indian terminology. I did not know what most of the things mentioned in the book were so I had to Google them. That's not the problem I enjoyed learning about a different culture actually, and love the representation. The problem with this book is that it is an old tale told too many times. I have heard the story in so many versions that I already know what's going on, what is going to happen, and what lead the characters here. I enjoyed it, it's a good romance comedy but still nothing new.

Absolutely loved!

I found this book on Audible and loved it so much I purchased the Kindle version as well. Awesome narration, and a great story. Strong FMC, hot chemistry between the two MC, and fun enemies to lovers trope. I also loved being immersed in South Asian culture. This story definitely made me laugh out loud and also super hungry for Indian food at the same time. I already downloaded another story by this author and hope we get to hear about the stories of Karina and Praem's friends too. I'm also going to find other books narrated by these two - very good pace and clear narration. Definitely worth a purchase if you don't have any credits!

Charlie

I would have given this higher stars if the male MC didn't call his penis "Charlie" it was just so cringey. Also, there were several sections that seemed repetitive.

definitely worth a read

heard about this recommendation on TikTok & absolutely met the hype! loved the narrators, they did such a fantastic job. I will say, Kareena's character annoyed me at many points during the story, I preferred Prem but they were cute together.

it's not worth the hype

Overall the story did keep me engaged but the plot line was so thin that I just kept rolling my eyes. It cannot be that hard to say I love you.
I didn't necessarily like some of the side characters because they treated the main protagonist like crap, but I also felt that she let them get away with it.
I will say my favorite character had to be Prims mom.

Freaking loved it

Amazing. Had all the right elements.
if you didnt like it, most likely you can't appreciate good writing and cross cultural interchange. I only hope someone at Netflix makes this into a movie like Nisha Sharmas fancast.
