Story
The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

Story
It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Story
It’s been 12 years since the undead hordes swept over the earth, forcing mankind to the brink of extinction. We now live like rats, scavenging in the ruins of our fallen civilization as the dead hunt us night and day. There is little left to scavenge, however. Grocery stores were emptied ages ago, gas tanks have long been dry, and bullets are so precious that a man is lucky to have two to his name. Still, we survive. But for how much longer?

Dead snapshot box set 1
This is a nice box set of zombie stories. A new infection has taken over the world and it turns people into flesh eating zombies. After the beginning story that introduces listeners to this world each following book gives a story of a different place and how the character deal with the zombies and this new world that is emerging. The stories all have strong characters and a good plot. There is strong violence and gore that is detailed in these books. So many different kinds of people emerge in this new world and these book touch on many of them. Each of the plots move along nicely and there is a good amount of character development that will make you love and hate the characters. The narration is good and strong. It moves at a good pace and keeps the listener engaged and interested in the stories.

Another great addition to the Dead series!!!!
Loved this series too. I have read all the Dead books. I am a avid fan of them all. I actually cried in this one during Portland, and the dogs. I love animals way more than people, my dogs though I was crazy. I keep yelling at my radio. It is the sign of a great book when you can totally submerged yourself into the story and you can in the Dead series. Definitely worth the read!!

Wanted to like it
Having listened to his other book, All Dead, I was expecting better of this series. I struggled to finish it. I could never engage with the characters.
It was the story line or the narrator or both. Main character after main character dies. oh! they died? to bad, moving on.
The story never reveals anything about the children and why they are different.
Oh ! there's a fight? It's over in a few lines and of course they always win. Some one died? that sucks. Next. Over and over again. No emotional attachment and numerous loose end. I won't be keeping this in my library. Extremely disappointed.

Riveting
I don't usually listen or read zombie stories but I couldn't pass this up as I am a fan of the narrator. The stories in this box set is well-written. Listening to this box set made me feel like I was watching a TV series. Personally, what I love most about this audiobook is the author's intros. I recommend this book especially to those who are zombie fans. You won't regret it.

Really wanted to like it....
I’m a big fan of The Dead series and have read them all. Not so much on the Snapshot though. I had to force myself to get through the first two hours. Many of the characters are not believable and the narrator’s voice is somewhat annoying. Darn, I was hoping for better.

Really wasn't a fan of the last book, liked the others more. I get it would be a harsh world but when you just don't like the people in charge or main character hard to like the book. None were 5 stars, but the last was hard to finish.

aww,
listened to the previous audibles and loved the lady's voice and assumed she was the author as said, read by author but that was only book one of this series. after listening to so much of her voice, she is the voice of these story's and whilst I understand the author wants to do everything, please ask her to do the next one's. the authors voice was ok but wrong for these story's. I rarely write reviews but felt the need.
