Publisher's Summary
From the best-selling author of The Marriage Lie comes a riveting new novel of suspense about a woman who must decide just how far she’ll go to escape the person she once loved
Beth Murphy is on the run....
For nearly a year, Beth has been planning for her escape. She's thought through everything - a new look, new name and new city - because one small slip and her husband will find her.
Sabine Hardison is missing....
A couple hundred miles away, Jeffrey returns home from a work trip to find his wife, Sabine, is missing. Wherever she is, she’s taken almost nothing with her. Her abandoned car is the only evidence the police have, and all signs point to foul play.
As the police search for leads, the case becomes more and more convoluted. Sabine’s carefully laid plans for her future indicate trouble at home, and a husband who would be better off with her gone. But are things really as clear cut as they seem? Where is Sabine? And who is Beth? The only thing that’s certain is that someone is lying and the truth won’t stay buried for long.

If you want to enjoy this book don't read reviews
This book is pretty good, if you don't read all of the hype that leads up to it like I did.
I was able to predict a lot of the twists and turns because there was so much written
about how people were so surprised, and how it was so unexpected...I wasn't bored with
the storyline, and most of the narration was pleasant enough to keep me engaged in the
storyline...I'll admit that I was a little surprised at the end, but I wasn't into the story so much
that it gave me big aha's...I think lots of people would enjoy this book, and I would have liked
it better if I hadn't read any reviews either positive or negative about it.

Entertaining.. but could’ve skipped some & added some
I really did like this book, but I felt a little cheated. Some books drag on and on, but for me, this one kind of failed to dig in the claws and fully develop the characters, and then dragged on in other areas. It did, however, keep me listening and had a good twist that I didn’t see coming. If you like a somewhat short & “to the point” thriller, this is perfect for you.

Difficult to put down
This was a story that was truly difficult to put down. Not that it was a fantastic story, but it was very good. The people who are complaining that they figured out the plot part way through may not quite understand that the author was leading them to plot resolution well before the end of the story - likely to keep with the irony at the end, when person A tells person B that "I was leading you here all along" to the astonishment of person B in the final pages of the book.
The cleverness of the story came from two seemingly entirely different accounts of apparently the same events. Wildly different. Yes, the Latina accent was a no-go. Nice to see a church not get totally savaged in a gritty novel like this.
Not great literature, but a really good listen, a satisfying resolution, and some clever twists even if you figured out the main riddle.

Dear Lord When Will It End?
I could not roll my eyes hard enough. The story is told from different points of view and the big "reveal" is so clumsy. That, coupled with the unending crass language (how many times can we say f*ckin b*itch?) and unbelievable ending left me groaning with annoyance.
I cannot recommend this book.

Fresh with A Great Plot & A Twist
Narration was superb and the story line kept me engaged. The story was done so well that you can listen along and still be entertained or if you’re one of those that like to pay extra close attention to the clues the writer drops to figure out the ending you can do that and still be just as pleased with the outcome. This is my first story from this author and plan to listen to more.

Zero stars if I could
I’m not sure if the other reviewers of this book were listening to the SAME book as I? First, this was an inane and predictable, if not plodding, plot line. The narrators were awful, which didn’t help move it along. I struggled to keep with it. I’ve never abandoned an audiobook, but I almost gave up on this one. Really. Awful. Who does a Hispanic accent like this? I could have overlooked it had the plot carried me along but alas, no. Don’t waste your brain cells, the writer sure didn’t.

GREAT THRILLER THAT KEPT ME UP ALL NIGHT
I love Kimberly Belle's writing and much enjoyed "The Marriage Lie" and also "The Last Breath" so I was fairly sure I would love this one too despite a few negative reviews. I usually prefer UK or Irish narration for audio books which is funny as I really enjoy US TV and Film with no such reservations - but there is something about Kimberley Belle's books as they swelter and steam in the deep south that means the accents adds to the atmosphere.
I thought all the narrators did a great job loved the accent of one of the guys who talked about pillaaas and windaaas as opposed to pillows and windows however it was very annoying the way that Vivienne Leheny made what was described as a southern drawl which could not conceal a Mexican accent as to me it sounded IRISH! Sometimes slightly Northern Irish but never Mexican and not a trace of a Southern Drawl either which was odd as being American I would have thought these accents would be far more familiar to her than a stage Irish accent ... but luckily the character with the dodgy accent did not play a huge part so it did not spoil my overall enjoyment of the book.
Those who enjoyed "Sleeping With The Enemy", "Gone Girl" , "Big Little Lies" and "A Simple Favor" will really enjoy this and although there is some violence it is not too dark or disturbing, not gory and although it is a serious subject the story focuses on the thriller aspect of the building suspense and of course there are some great twists and I did not guess one of the biggest ones until just before the reveal.
I read it in two chunks and took it with me to do work about the house which I only tend to do if it is a really gripping and intriguing read. I then was up all night finishing it and think I must have listened to it for 5 hours straight which I seldom do.
I think "The Marriage Lie" remains my favourite of her books but "Dear Wife" comes a close second and the descriptions of the locations really made me feel like I had spent a sizzling steamy night in the sultry South.
It had me hooked from the start and just kept cracking along as the suspense built and the twists and turns just kept going until the dramatic climax which was a very satisfying ending.
Highly recommended and looking forward to the next Kimberly Belle thriller.

Stop the ride I want to get off!!
This is going to be a tricky one to review without giving away any spoilers.
I would say, except for obviously reading this review, you should definitely think about going in blind with this one, otherwise it may spoil it for you.
Prepare for some twists and turns and 180 spins with this little cracker of a Thriller, you won’t know what’s gonna hit you!!
I was sucked into the storyline and couldn’t put the darn thing down, and the only little snippets of information that I’m going to give you my little lovelies is this……
An Abusive Husband
A Woman on the Run
Cat & Mouse
I know it’s a bit of a rubbish review, but you’re intrigued now right?
Narration was amazing, Vivienne Leheny, Chris Andrew Ciulla and Pete Simonelli did an incredible job at bringing this book to life, I was stunned many times throughout.
