A great cozy mystery
A new author to me although I have listened to a couple of cozy mystery books narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya previously
The narrator did a fabulous job and certainly kept me engaged as I listened to Death by Crockpot and can I just say I love the tittle?
When Kat O’Hara returns to Kissing Bridge (another great name) she has no idea of the danger and mystery she is about to encounter.
This was a book filled with intrigue, danger, suspense, twists and turns and was altogether a thoroughly enjoyable listen. In fact I will be on the look out for more books by this author as soon as I can.

A Fun Listen!
This was a fun cozy mystery to listen to! I have come to love Kissing Bridge and all who reside there. This story has fun, mystery, a bit of suspense and a whole lot of love. If you haven't checked out this series yet, you are missing out. The narration was perfect, really bringing the story to life. Jennifer Jill Araya did an excellent job with character voices and emotions as well as reading at a nice pace. Once again, if you haven't visited Kissing Bridge yet, you really need to! A lovely way to take a break from the real world.

Oh Wow
I didn't expect such a great cozy mystery. It had my 2 favorite combinations, magic and women sleuthing! Again, another small town story. I kinda suspected the story to turn out the way it did except that I didn't see it coming when the killer was revealed. I couldn't put this book down. The narrator really brought the book to life and I felt like I was in the town myself as a spectator. Great writing and great narrating. Funny cozy mystery!
This was my first Linda West's book. This is the first book in the Kissing Bridge Cozy Mystery Series. This book has a funny title! This is a funny cozy mystery, that happens in a small town. An unusual title for an amusing mystery.
"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review." I like mysteries and I have always loved "Murder She Wrote" so it was wonderful to have them combined in this book. When there is a murder and one of the Landon sisters, of Kissing Bridge Mountain, is accused, the entire crew of the restaurant goes on the hunt for the real killer. Edith Landon, who is 74 years old but just as sprightly as she was when young, leads the investigation, since she holds the title for knowing the most about "Murder She Wrote". This is a very good book filled with laughter and an interesting story. Linda West wrote a good book and Jennifer Jill Araya did an excellent job narrating.

Cozy and Charming
This is a cute and charming mystery with a few littles twists, a tiny bit of magic and is a typical 'who done it'. It was well written and fast paced with likeable characters. Great read if you want a little humor and a light mystery.
Narration was excellent and was a good pick for the story. There were a few times I think you could hear the smile in her voice.

Cooking can be murder
I enjoyed this book. This is my first introduction to the kissing bridge community and what an introduction it was, It is a nice fun cozy mystery, with great characters and unusual cats. The sisters are called the magical Landers sisters but not really sure if they are witches or not because other than very special sandwiches which were made and a few times a magical cook book is mentioned, nothing else comes of it and no spells are cast. Oh and is the main character a witch because she is very handy with a bottle top? The mystery was good and did keep you guessing. But it is the characters themselves that really made the book, they are quirky enough to make it entertaining and a series to look out for in the future.
Kat is entering her chilli in the big chilli cook-off and her team has a good chance of winning this year. That is until one of her team mate and her crockpot goes missing before the judges announces the winner. Running low of food to serve the judges Kat goes looking for her only to nearly get attacked. Next time she goes looking for her friend she takes the law with her and that when they find her friend standing over the dead body of her ex fiance holding the murder weapon and missing crockpot. Kat doesn't believe her friend could have killed him but the police don't hold her beliefs and arrest her. Can Kat find the missing letter, the letter that made her friend go running to her ex side? More importantly can Kat prove she didn't kill him? It seems the dead man had made a number of enemies lately. In clued in that list is even his own sister and nephew. But could they have killed him over money? The will reading doesn't help much as he left everything to his new wife and when she gets killed things get really complicated. Will eating some special sandwiches help Kat get to the bottom of both murders in time for the new cafe to open?
I liked the narrator, she is so bubbly that you just can't help but enjoy the story with her reading it.

I really enjoyed this lighthearted mystery. The characters were quirky and the mystery had me guessing all the way through.
I loved that the town held their book club meetings on nights with a full moon; I thought that was a cool, fun idea. The actual book club meeting was hilarious and had me laughing.
I look forward to reading more in this series.

Death by Crockpot
I had mixed feeling about this book. It is meant to be a humours and well, I did not find it really funny at all.
The main character acts really silly and immature at times. I believe the author did this to make it funny.
She kept saying she was not clever yet she was the one to solve the case. I found that really hard to believe and it something I really did not like in the book. Unfortunately the main character mentioned this a few times.
If you can get past this or if this type of humour is your type of thing than this is for you.

Nothing Motivates Like Money
This is one of those books to read, preferably tucked up somewhere cozy, with a nice cup of tea and a big bag of treats. It's comfort reading, very light and inconsequential, nothing to challenge the reader, but still fun. The main character is a sweet but silly woman just returned to Missing Bridge after being fooled into believing she'd been married when it was just a joke - or something like that. Broken hearted, and feeling foolish, she started working in a bakery run by the talented Landed sisters, trying to outlook them by adding alcohol to everything. There's a chilli bake competion, a new cafe to open, the start up of a book cleb, interesting characters to get to know, and loads and loads of sweet and savoury food to eat. Oh yes, there's a murder of two as well.
Mostly written in the first person, the narrator Jennifer Jill Araya performs her character well, with good pacing and an emotional lilt to her voice.
Warning. Do not read this if hungry or on a diet!
However, unlike the print version of Death by Crockpot, as reduced from comments in other reviews, the Audible version does not carry recipes of the numerous food items mentioned. What a pity. Several of them sounded really tasty, in particular the little (special) sandwiches.
My thanks to the rights holder Death by Crockpot, who, at my request freely gifted me with a complimentary copy via Audiobook Boom. It was fun, it was silly, it was delicious and enjoyable and recommended for lighthearted reading.

Smarmy personals ads. Daring declarations of love. Freelance writer Jaine Austen has penned them all. But no one needs her help more than geeky, gawky Howard Murdoch. His request is simple enough: a letter proclaiming his undying love for Stacy Lawrence, a gorgeous aerobics instructor. The fact that he's never actually met the woman gives Jaine pause - yet she soon overcomes her misgivings, and the unlikely Romeo lands a date! But his triumph is short-lived. On Valentine's Day, Howard finds Stacy bludgeoned to death with a Thigh Master - and is quickly named the prime suspect.

Story
James Henry, a kind-hearted professor of English literature, is forced to move back home to Quincy's Gap, a tiny town in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, to care for his aging father. Shortly after moving into a house that hasn't changed since his childhood, the overweight, divorced, book-loving cheese puff addict accepts a position as head librarian and joins a supper club for dieters who call themselves the "Flab Five". Avoiding carbs is almost impossible in this deep-fried, all-you-can-eat Southern town.
