Publisher's Summary

The horrifying sequel to the Bram Stoker Award-nominated novel Pressure.

Though Darren Rust is serving a life sentence in prison, Alex Fletcher is desperate to escape the shadow of his former best friend. Darren is a psychopath who thought he’d found somebody who would kill with him, and when he realized he was wrong, he took everything from Alex. Losing his family—and coping with the heinous act Darren forced him to commit—is too much. Alex is unable to have a normal social life. Until he meets Luna Booth.

She’s fun. Intelligent. Sexy. She’s exactly what he needs right now. Alex may not have found his soul mate, but he’s found somebody that he loves spending time with. Somebody who doesn’t mind the nightmarish skeletons in his closet.

In fact, she may be too understanding. Too interested. And she may have a very dark and twisted secret…

Fantastic Follow Up!

A fantastic follow up that picks up where Pressure left off. Strand once again weaves the perfect balance of dread and humor in this story of Alex's life after Darren's incarceration and how he continues to haunt his life.

The Sequel I've Been Waiting For

This book is the sequel to Pressure and it does not disappoint! If you haven't read anything by Strand then this is a warning : This book is Brutal. I do have a few questions about some things that were not covered, but maybe this will be a trilogy! Solid 5 stars. My reviews for Strand's work will always be 5 stars though because, well, favoritism 😅 He could write about pencil sharpening and I'd give him 5 stars.

A good sequel

I enjoyed the previous book and this one continued the story well. Jeff Strand is almost always fun to read, with lots of humor to go along with the horror. He writes like people actually talk and that's refreshing. There's no pretense just good story.

loved it

STOP: If you have listened to Pressure stop and listen to that one first. This one works as a stand alone but Pressure is the 1st book and makes this one smoother.
I was given this book for free from audiobook boom and asked to leave an unbiased review for the author and narrator.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a really different premise for a story based on people that really walk among us every day. I thought the writing was great and the narrator was great. I will definitely look for more books by this author and this narrator.

True crime under pressure

Pressure + True crime junkie + Gone To See The River Man = Deathless. This starts out feeling a lot like Pressure and I was a little bummed out. As much as I like book one I didn’t want to just relive it. Things quickly change and new elements are added to make a fun and cringeworthy read.

Alex’s ordeal continues!

First off I must admit I think I liked the first book in the series just a bit more, but on the scale of pure twistedness I think Deathless might have the edge. It’s been years since the insanity of the first book and Alex Fletcher has started to move on with his life…sort of. Then unexpectedly a new woman comes into his life. He kind of thinks there is something a bit off about her, but he doesn’t realize just had bad things are until it’s too late. This is another wonderful sick and twisted ride that could only have come from the mind of Jeff Strand. And once again Scott Thomas does a great job with the narration. If you enjoy horror/thrillers to be more on the twisted/gory side, this series is definitely for you.
