3rd book was a let down =(

This third book seemed to drag on and on for me. I debated not finishing it more than once. While I'll admit the author can write some steamy romance/erotica scenes they were few and far between in this book compared to the first two. The pace of the book was slow and had 3 story lines going throughout the book. Again this book also ends in a cliffhanger yet I dont feel inspired to finish the series. If it was free I might. I also wouldn't have purchased this one if I had know how the book would read.

Loving this series!

I am burning right through this series. Finally in this book we have some answers but not all of them of course. Book 3 starts where book 2 left off. In this book we learn more about Nox & Alex's past. There are still lots of things to figure out but things are starting to come together. I have to say I'm so glad I waited for all the books to be out before I started this series because if book 4 wasn't out I would be freaking out right now. I love this authors writing style! She gives us some past flashbacks which helps to understand the characters and the reason they are the way they are now. Can't wait to learn more about Nox's father.

The narration is PERFECT!

A COMPLEX WEB OF DECEIT & AN ALL CONSUMING ROMANCE

Nox and Charli are still having a roller-coaster passionate romance due to the intricate web of secrets, mystery mail and family pressures that this book immerses them (and you) in. And yes, you do get to find out some of the answers to a multitude of questions that have cropped up since Del Mar but it also unearths a lot more mysterious plots, twists, deceptions, lies, manipulation and cold hearted behaviour by unsavory characters.

The intensity of Nox and Charli's romance reaches new heights as the lovers unite against their unknown and the known enemies... but one of the biggest problems is that Nox is still holding back a lot of information from Charli - especially the whereabouts of her bff Chelsea and the dangerous position that she is caught up in. Nox finally shares the heartbreak of what happened to his wife and Charli feels she can now trust Nox... but only time will tell if this is wise. He's still demanding, sexy, broody, jealous, intense and a controlling hot Alpha with a dirty mind and mouth and Charli is still willing to lovingly fit into his world.

Aleatha Romig has written a very intense, exciting, complex, compelling and intricate story... a story that initially brings two lovers together - and then she goes on to weave in layers upon layers of mystery, angst, drama, danger, suspense and shocks. The chemistry between Nox and Charlie is seismic and their love for each other is all-consuming - but, in order to protect each other, they do more harm than good and they're their own worst enemies.... and Charli frustratingly ends up in the Devil's clutches once more. Charli's Mother and Nox's Father have more to say in this story as their past connection is slowly revealed and Charli's Mother uncovers some shocking news... however she may not live long enough to act on it.

Worth a credit? Multiple POV's, great narration, some sex, an action-packed nail biting complicated storyline, an obsessive romance and a drool-worthy Hero. Yes it's ceditworthy BUT this is a 5 book long, complicated storyline and each book has been slowly released so, by the time the next book is out, you've forgotten the important finite details of the previous plots. Book 4 isn't due to be released until September and Book 5 isn't due out until next January which (for me) is a BIG disadvantage to this otherwise awesome listen.

Crushing disappointment

Book 1 was very good, Book 3 was amazing and then Book 3 crushed me. If this would have been a trilogy then it would have been perfect. But it seems someone got greedy and stretched the story to its limits. There was no real need for this book. I think I'm giving up because I don't see what more can justify 20 more hours of this story. What to expect of this story? stretching of similar situations that you already listened to on book 2. I would suggest you skip books 3 and 4 and then go straight to book 5.
The narrators are very good though and I wil look for more books narrated by them. I don't normally like male narrators but Mr. Paulino is very very good and his female voices don't feel too made up.

Losing momentum. The previous books in this series are stellar. Hopefully, the next book will recapture the original intrigue.

Drawn-out

I've enjoyed the first two books in the series. This third book is just basically almost similar to the second one .
The story just seemed to be all drawn out to me. When will that jackass Alton get what he deserves and what is he really doing to to Charli's mom? Poisoning her? As usual, she let's her step-father get to her because of her mother. Surely there was another way to get the answers she needed about her mom. Now she is back in his evil clutches. (Sorry about the spoiler. )
All these questions. Still, I just don't see the need to stretch it out into a five - book series.

This can't be the end of Nox and Charli,. Ready for the next novel in this series. Keep writing Aletha

Wow, feeling deceived. Another book in the series?

Would you listen to Deception again? Why?

No question that Aleatha is a tallented and creative writer. This will be my last book of hers if not a stand alone. I don't think authors realize that we read many books and by the time the next in a series comes out I have forgotten the pull for the plot and storyline. Often I may have several books that are incomplete due to a series. I understand this is a way of garning more income but it is not worth the break in the story to wait months or years for a next in the series. Also what is up with a 4th book? Really could not have been competed in 3?

What about Samantha Prescott and Brian Pallino ’s performance did you like?

Both are excellent performers.

Any additional comments?

An idea! if needed to garner more income why not release the series at the same time with serveral book? Still this series is not worth $40 if one is using credits.

WHY??!! I Want More!

Where does Deception rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love this story and I just knew I would have all the answers to my questions from the last two books in Deception. This series could be addictive and I need to know what happens to the Montgue fortune and Charlie.
This series in for sure one of my top 10 favs.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All the characters in this book are important from Jane Charlie's nanny to Justin from the lawyers office.

Which character – as performed by Samantha Prescott and Brian Pallino – was your favorite?

Both narraters are good but when Samantha goes back and forth with the southern accent its as if that is how she really speaks.

Any additional comments?

I wish I would have known there were going to be more than 3 books. I'm hooked and looking forward to book 4.

Mother of all cliffhangers!! :O

Where does Deception rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The audible version of Deception is really awesome. I loved it as much as I loved the book the first time I read it. It'd be so hard to rank it among all the audios I've listened, but it surely it's pretty high for two reasons: First, it's a book of the Infidelity Series #TopSeries and second, the narrators are pretty awesome.

What did you like best about this story?

I LOVE everything about this story. I love the steamy romance between Charli and Nox. Their relationship gets stronger with every new book is added to the series, and their sex life is simply the best! *fans self*. I also love the story of the secondary characters, their pasts, their present and how everything affects Charli and Nox is just so perfect in this series, especially in this book. And of course, I love to hate the evil characters aswell, and yes, they are evil, they are selfish people, greedy for money and powert and they don't care to ruin a person's life in order to get their goals. *grrrr* I really hate them, and I can't wait to know how they will die at the end of the series, because they really need to die *evil laugh* bwahahahhaha And the last, but not the least thing I love the best in this story is the cliffhanger. Aleatha knows how to create the tension, the passion, the suspense, how to keep her readers on edge and mostly, to make them want more and more of these amazong characters and their story. #IveBeenAleathad

Have you listened to any of Samantha Prescott and Brian Pallino ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Samantha and Brian's performances are absolutely amazing. This is my third audiobook narrated by them (since they have narrated all the books of the series) and I'm in love with how they translate the emotions, the different character's personalities, how they add more suspense to the story. I keep thinking the change of inflexions in both of them is amazing. The multi POV is really more enjoyable with them narrating because it feels like there were four narrators instead of two.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Trust no one! There's deception everywhere!

Repeating Deception was the best for me. I wasn't only able to relive all the story, but also to remember/gather more details about the story that would help me with my numerous theories about what will happen in the next books. Can't wait for more of Nox and Charli and The Infidelity Series! #TeamNox #TeamCharli
