Deeply faith based success advice
- By Tyler Bradshaw on 09-26-20
By: Zig Ziglar, and others
Publisher's Summary
Read by the author with exclusive commentary.
Successful business entrepreneur Allie Casazza shares her powerful and proven method for clearing the clutter in our minds by first clearing the clutter in our homes, the place where transformation begins.
When Allie Casazza first became a mom, she found herself struggling to make it through each day. She battled fatigue, depression, and the unsettling feeling that she didn't have what it took to do "this mom thing" well. When she realized the root of her burden was the overwhelm of physical clutter in her home, she got intentional about what took up her space and time. The path she carved brought her and her family greater contentment and more abundant living, and she shares it in her much-anticipated first book, Declutter Like a Mother.
Allie has built a massive following - and a multimillion-dollar online business - based on her proven, family-oriented approach to living more simply. Her mission is to empower other moms to start making real, lasting change. In her winsome, relatable style, combining humor and a lighthearted kick in the pants, Declutter Like a Mother motivates listeners to start taking action. Once referred to as an "in-your-face Marie Kondo for millennial moms", Allie's advice is actionable, at times irreverent, and already has proven to be life-changing.

Good but Unnecessary
If you truly want to declutter, just listen to one of her podcasts (I recommend the one Alison J Prince hosted Allie Casazza on) and skip the book. There is nothing new in it for decluttering. There are certainly no strategies in it to "transform your life." I feel that part is misleading. Those strategies are what she calls routines and rhythms and they are not detailed in this book.
However, if you are a die hard Allie fan, you might enjoy her back story and the other stuff she details (why your excess stuff is making you miserable) that I consider fluff. In a nutshell, the message is "Your excess stuff is making you miserable, so get rid of it." There are a couple of strategies, like start in the bathroom and put away stuff when you finish a room, but hardly any others. Not worth purchasing the book for decluttering instruction and strategy. I was hoping for more strategies about a decluttered life....digitally, as well as routine and rhythm details to really take it to the next level. "The Joy of Missing Out" book by Tanya Dalton does the job better, with more strategies, exercises, etc.

Not your average minimalist…in the best way!!
Great read! Amazingly written! This was the best self help book I’ve read! Gives advice and tells you exactly how to apply it! And guess what? It works!! I followed along decluttering according to her advice and our home and lives feel so much lighter and easier to handle. Our family of six had gotten very overwhelming, but now it’s easier to maintain than when we were just a family of two! Her humor and honesty of her own journey helped me feel like I could do this too. She is very relatable and realistic. No more legalistic minimalism thoughts that once freaked me out. She really helps it be more about what works for you and no guilt when you don’t stick to the exact legal minimalism number of dishes or towels. Can’t wait for more from this author!!

A Must Read for ALL Moms!
I found Allie Casazza a few years ago through her online declutter challenge by the same name. Since then I have listened to her podcast, bought a couple of her courses, and followed her on social media. Allie is a breath of fresh air in the "minimalism" space. I have read similar books about "sparking joy" and "living with less" but they were lacking something. Those strategies are great for people with no kids but they don't address the chaos that comes with creating a home with little people making messes as soon as you clean them up. Allie fills that space. She is encouraging, and uplifting, and she gets it. Listening to her read her book is like listening to my BFF. She has so many great tips, and tricks for making your home and life feel lighter. Be an action taking problem solving woman and start listening to this book today!

The book is great.
So I took her classes about two years ago and listened to her podcast. I was needing some inspiration because I am getting ready to move and I want the right mindset to declutter as I pack. I will say I got a lot more out of her classes. I was hoping for more of that. If you never knew who Allie Casazza was you would adore this book. It is a great way to get started. If you already took her class and listened to her podcast recently then you may not need to listen to the book.
Allie has a great message.

So so good! I am over half way through this book. I am listening to it on Audible and it is so nice to be able to work while I listen. I am listening to it all one time through while picking up, cooking dinner, etc. I have already tossed a few things while picking up and listening. I can’t wait to go through each room while listening to it at the same time. Next week I plan on starting on a room with trash bags in hand! I can’t wait to live lighter!

Clear, lightbulb-moment inspiration
“You don’t just buy things with your money, you buy them with your time; what takes up your space takes up your time; you do you…” So many facts, ideas, permissions that resonate over and over. I love Allie and how she thinks, explains, assists, problem solves, inspires. I hope that I can return to add that she has helped me change my life in the same way as some of the success stories she reads. I now intend to be there by Christmas. Watch this space…

Expected Much More
I bought this book based on the great reviews and was hoping for a well rounded book to help me declutter and get my house organised.
I felt there was a lot of waffling about her personal story and not enough "meat" on the subject matter. I got one or two helpful tips but overall if you need a pep talk of some sort then this will work for you but I didn't like it as much as I had hoped to.
Also the book is quite short compared to other books and I didn't care much for the occassional "light" French using words like BS, sh%t etc... SO NOT classy.
