I'm not your average girl. My best friend is my switchblade. My favorite hobby is using it on the cruel, the abusive, and anyone who gets on my bad side. I'm a convicted murderer with a chip on my shoulder and a dangerous lack of restraint. And then there's Zak. His rap sheet makes mine look tame. The bounty on his head is worth more money than I'll ever make, and the deadly fae that shadow his every step wield more power than I'll ever know. He's the Crystal Druid, and his first mistake was setting foot on my turf. His second was saving my life.

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview - to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job?

"Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of 20 years packs up and heads for greener pastures, and my son heads away to college, that's exactly what my midlife becomes. A do-over. This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path. Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills.

Let's get one thing straight - Ivy Wilde is not a heroine. In fact she's probably the last witch in the world you'd call if you needed a magical helping hand, regardless of her actual abilities. If it were down to Ivy, she'd spend all day every day on her sofa, where she could watch TV, munch junk food, and talk to her feline familiar to her heart's content. However, when a bureaucratic disaster ends up with Ivy as the victim of a case of mistaken identity, she's yanked very unwillingly into Arcane Branch.

For a decade, I’ve hated the supernaturals who owned my world. I hunted them. I killed them. And now, in the most grand twist of fate - I am bonded to one of them. Oh, the irony. The Witch's Reign...a land of unnatural hellish cold ruled over by the Ice Witch herself, who is in turn guarded by three creatures - Wolf, Bear, and Raven. Those lovely beasts derive their power directly from their mistress and just happen to kill any who cross their paths. To get there, you first must pass through the Dragon's Ground. Full of, you guessed it, dragons who for the record, also do not like trespassers. Sounds like a fun place to go, doesn't it? Yeah, not so much.

I promised to send my demon home. But the way he watches me, the way he protects me, the way he touches me - how can I cast him away forever? I swore I would do this for him, but can I? Should I?

best series so far in the world of guild codex
warning some spoilers: Demonized is the best series so far. Cris does an excellent job portraying Robin and her growth from timid college drop out to a woman willing to stand up and fight for what she believes is right. The slowly developing love story between Robin and Z FINALLY ignites after waiting for it since book one. My only complaint was Teddy's portrayal of Z. I realize allowances should be made since he only had one chapter (also sad) and he was reading for a non human character but even through Robin's eyes Z was a being of volatile emotions at times and for me his character performance fell flat. Otherwise this final book in the series was well worth the wait.

This book beautifully wrapped up at the massive arcs of all characters and the world and finished beautifully. More action, more danger, more emotions and challenges, more emotions. And most of all: satisfying conclusion. Narration continues to be perfect. Unrelated: I want a demon.

Wrapped up super well
4.5 stars — I am struggling with writing this review. I think I’m already sad it’s done. But also relieved that I loved the ending so much. I was honestly a bit worried that I wasn’t going to get all the answers I wanted, but I think I did. There might be a few little mysteries here and there, but in general I felt like it all wrapped up super well.
I was worried for a bit that Robin was taking two steps back with Zylas, and I was a bit frustrated with her. But she had a reckoning with herself in the middle of this book, and it kind of papered over my frustrations with her. I was proud of how much she’d grown over the series, and who she was by the end of it.
Zylas is still a little bit of a mystery for me, but I truly do love that demon boy.
The slow burn finally paid off, and it was worth the wait.
As with all these GCU books, there were a lot of intense scenes where I wasn’t sure how they were going to survive. I love all the little advances we see from them, the new things we learn, the new things they learn about themselves as they figure out how to not die.
Even though the secondary cast isn’t quite as large as in Spellbound, I still really loved the ones who play a prominent role in this one. Amalia had a really tough go of it, but in the end I think she figured things out. And I loved that we got more Zora.
I will admit that I kept waiting for Teddy Hamilton’s narration — so for anyone else that likes to know, it’s one chapter near the end…it’s not really dual narration. Cris Dukehart was amazing as always, even if she doesn’t know how to pronounce touque (it rhymes with Luke).
I can already feel a book hangover coming on…but more like a universe hangover. I can tell that this is going to be a frequent reread for me, they’re like comfort books.

REDEMPTIOOOONNNN
If you, like me, were super frustrated with Robin’s snail like pace of self examination and habit of lying to herself and others about everything, covering it up with stammers and blushes, REST ASSURED!!! This book is… *chefs kiss*, the most perfect conclusion to what was shaping up to be a dull and infuriating series based on book 3. This book… I cried. I don’t pretend that I’m not an emotional reader, and I’ve cried at a lot of books, but if you want to sob tears of sweet sweet heartbreak and joy, this is one for you. The author really delivers and the narration is great.

Demons, portals and death.
One of my all time favourite books, the only bad thing I can say about this is that it's the final book on Zylas and Robin. This is such an exciting and amazing story that I wished it would never end, the emotional pull all the way through this entire series is something I will always treasure. There are many great battles, both physical and emotional in the demonized series. The characters are all very memorable, all with very different personalities. The lore in the world is very well written and extremely interesting, and the bad guys make you want to hit something. It would make an epic TV series.

I loved this book and the rest of the series but..
I don't understand changing narrator for just 15 mins. It broke the immersion. I'm sure Teddy Hamilton is a fine narrator, but to have the voice change and names pronounced differently so far into the story seemed unnecessary, especially as it was only for 15 mins.
I love the series, the characters and the world. This was a satisfing ending - I'm still sad to see it end. I'm looking forward to the crystal druid series!

Sadly all over
Very satisfying ending for Robin & Zylas.
Robin & Zylas’s contracted relationship has grown more into friendship & more as the series has continued. Finally they are truely honest with each other & was such a beautiful moment.
I did find the final battle with the demon contractor a little rushed.
Gives another side to the events in Lost Talismans and a Tequila.

A powerful finish
Really enjoyed this final book and the end (or beginning) of Robin & Zylas' story. When this series began I found it very average. But over the course of the novels I grew very attached to the two main characters and greatly enjoyed their relationship development. The last battle and finale were epic & emotionally moving. I shall miss these two inspiring people.
