Publisher's Summary

Did not enjoy the German version.

Audio was low, female voice was hard to understand. It would have been prudent to just read the book and not make a play out of it.

Worthy of a masterpiece

Dune is near and dear to me, my favorite novel, which I have read several times and listened to at least a dozen more times. I very much enjoyed the English reading by George Guidall (released on compact disc), and a few years ago I listened to the German reading by Simon Jäger, Jürgen Prochnow, and Marianne Rosenberg. I found it very disappointing, to the point that I wondered whether the magic of the book had been lost in translation. Thankfully that is not the case, as evidenced by this reading. I thoroughly enjoyed Mark Bremer's performance, and Uta Dänekamp did a passable job for Princess Irulan's per chapter lead-in quotes, certainly good enough to support the main narration. This recording is worthy of the masterpiece, and I will listen to it again (and again?).
