Publisher's Summary

Katmai National Park: 7,000 square miles of rugged, isolated wilderness in southern Alaska. Vast stretches of frozen tundra, deep ancient forests, and impassable ravines ruled by the massive volcanic God, Devil's Desk.

Despite the vigorous protests of Michael, the Talbots and the Tynes head to the park for a much-needed vacation away from it all.

The adventure begins with deluxe cabins, mind-blowing scenery, and a cast of suspiciously odd characters, including a few old friends they’ve never met. But the idyllic surroundings quickly devolve into a hellscape as a mutilated body is discovered, the earth breaks apart around them, the worst storm in history moves in…and a terrifying race of flesh devouring monsters hunts down the desperate, forsaken group.

Yep. They should have gone to Vegas.

Couldn’t stop listening.

I originally saw the cover when it was first announced and wasn’t impressed. Thought, how tf is Tufo gonna swing big foot? Thought it would be kinda lame. Saw it came out today and decided to give it a try. In usual Tufo fashion, Within 5 minutes of listening, I was hooked. Definitely worth a listen if you’re a Tufo fan. Man seems to make anything interesting in my opinion. Hope this helps. Didn’t want to give too much away.

Awesome

Loved it. Sean's voice is so the characters that no one else could do it. Tufo is a genius at writing and is fun to interact on social media. Always giving things away like wrist bands and stickers and signed books?

Weird combination of genres doesn't work

Imagine a book that sets out to describe post-apocalyptic events, supernatural/horror, sadistic murder, feel-good buddy adventure - and then imagine it written by someone who really wanted to write stand-up comedy rather than fiction - and you have Devil's Desk. Tufo obviously has a rabid fan base who gave this monstrosity its high ratings; maybe you have to read others before this one.

Story was a little choppy

Let me start by saying I’m a huge Tufo fan, but I want to give a fair review. There is definitely some missing narrative. At least 2 hours worth to tie some things together. Felt a bit rushed to me. Overall I truly enjoyed the time with some beloved characters that feel almost like family to me after all these years together and one not so loved character.

LOVED IT

I'm a huge fan of Tufo & Runnette, combined they're one of my top favorites. They go together like icecream & hot fudge. This story has most of your favorite characters, just from different times. I don't want to say to much about that because it's part of what made this book so enjoyable, especially if you've already read the other Talbot series. The hints at zombies or werewolves throughout the book were fun yet they don't dominate the story at all.
This will be one I listen to again within the next 6 months just for fun. If you're a fan of any of the Talbot story lines you'll enjoy this one for sure!

Totally Lost

With a premise that can either be played straight or campy, this book meanders a line between both. Characters go from genuine panic to silly puns within the same breath. This leads to a story that is to dumb to be taken seriously and to boring to pass as fun schlock.

Fun Book

Loved the story. I’ve read most of Mark Tufo’s books and enjoyed them. This was a change from the rest in a good way. I enjoyed a normal man version on Mike Talbot. Keep the story’s coming, can’t wait for a new story.

Done it again.

Once again Mark Tufo writes another great story.
Its everything you want from one of his books action packed adventure. It's like rejoining with old friends if you have listened to his other books the writing draws you in making you bond with the characters hating some and loving others. How he they come alive is down to his incredible writing and the truly talented Sean Runnette who is an incredible narrator and the two of them combine is a truly magical combination. I can not recommend listening to this and his other books enough.

Thoroughly Enjoyed this book!

As ever Mark Tufo has written a book that keeps you glued laughing and crying to the very end. I didn't want to finish and it come to an end. Mike and BT bounce off each other and made me laugh out loud. The action is non stop and wow Tracy is badass! loved it! Hope he writes more in this universe. Not forgetting Tripp who is always a joy. 5 stars without a doubt 👍

Comical nonsense

Like the zombie series it’s a bit hit or miss but helped fill in some dog walking hours. Not to taxing on the brain and when I zoned out didn’t feel I’d missed much.

Very good read

Loved the book it was a nice change from the usual zompoc. I do have one complaint mark tufo seems to be moving towards always breaking up the team of Mike and BT it happened at the end of Zombie fallout and now at the end of devils desk. Please stop this trend Mike and BT are brothers. Maybe it’s just me but I wouldn’t see them splitting up after all they go through just didn’t sit right with me

Another amazing read by Tufo

From the start there is a semblance of mystery, what is going on in the abandoned trailer, which multiverse of Mike's is this, can he be anymore sarcastic (which I love)

5 stars is nowhere near enough.

A terrifying thought

The last thing you would expect on a holiday and it would be terrifying. The story is written with loads of whit and humour which takes the group through the traumatic experience, it keeps one listening to the end.

Excellent stand alone book

It's a match made in heaven when Tufo and Runnette team up.
This stand alone book combines some of the most memorable characters from other Tufo worlds.
too many highlights to list.
