Great addition to the series! :D

This was a great story. Considering Liam's actions in the previous book, Reaper's Legacy, I didn't know if I'd like him as the hero of a book but he was a surprisingly good hero. I really liked Em as well and her and Liam made a great couple.

Em is the daughter of Picnic, the president of the local chapter of the Reaper's MC. Her mom died when she was a teen and she and her sister had to suffer through a certain amount of protectiveness from both their dad and the other MC members who thought of the girls as family. Unfortunately this messed up most of Em's dating possibilities from the first day of high school (where Picnic and his buddies gave her a "ride" to school) until present day. Em's sister has moved away to live her own life but Em has stayed with her dad but is frustrated by his inability to see her as more than a little girl.

Liam was in foster care as a child and the only one he cared about was his foster sister, Kelsey. Unfortunately, they were placed in a home that wasn't a good place for them to be. Things come to a violent end one day and it brings about Liam's connection with the Devil Jacks MC. The MC became a family for Liam and Kelsey and he did anything the MC needed him to do. Because of his background, Laim doesn't really understand love and doesn't know if he can even feel it (the closest is probably what he feels for his sister) so Laim doesn't typically do relationships.

For this story, we go back in time a bit to overlap some of what happened in the previous book so we can see some of how Liam and Em met. Liam watches Em and then manages to engage her in some facebook messaging and then eventually texting back and forth. Liam and EM didn't meet each other and were just friends until the night of Painter getting his patch as a full member of the Reaper's MC. There had been an attraction between Painter and Em but he'd never make a move. Em figured it was because he was still a prospect and so she gave him until he got patched in. Painter basically blows her off and acts like a real jerk and Em decides she's had enough. I don't blame her at all because to be honest, Painter was a jerk and the other guys in the MC excusing his ass with stupid excuses didn't help matters. Once Em decides she's done with Painter and informs Liam of this via one of their many text convos, Liam asks her to consider him as a possible boyfriend. Em has loved talking to Liam and so she decides to give him a chance. They chat long distance a while longer before they finally make plans to meet. Things end up going to crap part way through Liam and Em's first meeting though because of the actions of a rogue Reaper's MC member that kidnaps a Devil Jack's member. Liam is forced to change his plans and he and one of his buddies use Em and Sophie as leverage to get their member back alive. Things don't go quite as planned and Em and Liam have some interesting confrontations and interactions that cause mixed feelings on both sides. By the end, Liam is convinced he's lost any chance he might have had with Em and Em is angry with Liam and tries to hate him but can't.

Once things get settled and the 2 MCs have a tentative peace, Liam goes to see Em to tell her what happened (knowing that her dad wouldn't tell her anything). Em gets a bit of very painful revenge on Liam for his kidnapping her and, once he's recovered, Liam explains things and they talk a bit. Liam decides to leave her alone though, figuring she wouldn't want any more to do with him. Em doesn't contact Liam but her sister's interference and a night of drinking brings Liam and Em back in touch. Once Em reached out to Liam and he saw that she still cares for him, there was no way Liam was letting her slip out of his life again. Unfortunately, a friend who thinks he's doing Liam a favor, tells Em certain information that makes her think it's best for Liam if she isn't in his life. Liam has a hard time convincing her otherwise and just when he's finally got Em back, things go to crap for both clubs and there's much distrust between them MCs so they can't decide if it's the other MC doing this or a 3rd party trying to provoke them to fight (which becomes more and more likely). This doesn't end up being a very easy time for Em and Liam as not many people are in favor of their relationship. Liam has to make some serious decisions about him and Em vs. his place in his MC and I was very happy with how things worked out in that regard. Things don't go perfect as Liam does make some mistakes and there are other issues thrown in, but I liked the feel of things between Liam and Em. Once they got past their initial difficulties caused by their opposing MC loyalties, Liam and Em were great together. Liam became the man that Em needed, he was strong and sweet and chose her above all else in the end. Em's a sweetheart but she also had a strong core that I wasn't expecting but liked a lot. Together they managed to get through a lot in order to come out in the end, ready to start their HEA.

I really enjoyed this addition to the series. I loved Liam and EM together. Some people have compared the to Romeo and Juliet and I can certainly see the similarities but thankfully this story had a much better ending. I had a few complaints (the biggest of which I think if Picnic's actions towards Liam at the end) but overall the story was great and I loved it. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I'd recommend this story. 2 thumbs up. :D

* note - There were actually 2 narrators, a female for Em's chapters and a male for Liam's chapters. They both did a very good job and melded well together so the transitions between chapters (and changing narrators) wasn't jarring.

Those Biker Hotties Are At It Again!

Really good Reapers MC Club romance! After books 1 & 2, I was sold on Joanna Wylde. Devil's Game is not as edgy as the preceding books, but overall it was well worth my time. My only complaint is that I wasn't a huge fan of the male narrator, something about him was far too dramatic for my tastes, other than that, it was your standard motorcycle romance--harsh language, no hearts and flowers for the 'old ladies' just some rough and tumble loving--but there was nothing standard about the loving part of the book! As Em and Hunter face the consequences of choosing their newfound love over the club, their connection is electric, and the spark between them will make you smolder! Hunter was super sexy when he was introduced in book 2, so I was primed for a book centered on him.

In the realm of biker romance series, Reaper's MC is a true contender for your credit!

I am not into the Biker books but these are just fun. Found myself laughing out loud at the characters. Narrators are great.

Bikers, Handsome strangers, danger! danger! FUN!

What a great story!

Another book with the Reapers, Joanna Wyide, did a great job on this book. I usually not happy with two reader but Tatiana Sokolov and Todd Haberkorn, did a really good job.

The story line is good and keeps your interest. If you like bikers, romances, handsome stranger, and women who are not needy or helpless, you will love this book.

I've seen mixed reviews about this read, but personally I think this is the best in the series so far! Lots of action, lots of ups and downs, and the chemistry between Hunter and Em is hot in a way that is innocent and carnal at the same time. The only thing I regret is that the story didn't allow for more interaction between past Reaper characters, ie. girls night out. Otherwise, it was funny, sexy, and interesting throughout. Can't wait for her next.

Might be my favorite of the 3 so far.

I really liked this one. It takes up right where book 2 left off so I had to jog my memory a bit to understand what was going on. I liked book 1, book 2 was just ok for me but book 3 was really good.
As always, for me, it's success has a great deal to do with the narration, more specifically, the male character and Todd Haberkorn did the best job with Liam/Hunter. I'm still laughing at some of the stuff he says and does. He had me laughing with some of his sarcasm.
I thought some parts were a little disconnected in the evolution of the relationship between Em and Liam but it didn't ruin the story for me.
I gave it five stars because it held my interest the whole way through and I thought the dialogue was pretty realistic (not that I have a clue about what goes on in a motorcycle club) and, of course, Todd's narration. Also, because lately, some of the books out now are so dramatic and so corny that I have a hard time finishing them. I was thrilled to actually enjoy one to the end.

Sweet!

I really like how Hunter was one tough cookie and wasn't scared of Picnic...but still, the Reaper's MC books are going down hill compared to Horse's book... (book 1)...

Well not going down hill in the action.. way more action and MC stuff happening from book 1 to this one...but the romance and MC vibe is kinda going away... or maybe it's just me.. I need my romance with all these tough bad-ass bikers!

Em was a great character, but still all the MCing kinda overshadowed her romance with Hunter, till the end... I do like how Em stood up to her dad and told him don't F-with my man! Kudos to you Em..

I really think the dual narration killed it for me... Urgh! I get use to one voice doing the male and female parts, then swap! Another voice doing the same male and female parts, only differently!! URGH!!! I hate dual narration, it will totally drag a good book down!

Nice credit or sale, especially if you have invested in the series so far.. but dual narration... urgh!

Another Home Run

I've loved every book in this series and this did not disappoint. It was the most anticipated novel for me and I was not disappointed at all. All the questions I had from book 2 were answered and I am a definite fan. I am not going to give any spoilers and I can't wait or Picnic's story.

Another Hot MC Novel

Would you listen to Devil's Game again? Why?

Yes; I love the setting. I enjoy the characters. I really love Wylde's dialogue. I became hooked on T Sokolov's performances in Sheehan's novels with a comparable subject matter as here.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really want to say Hunter. However, T Habberkorn's voice was such a huge turn off. His sound was so completely wrong for this badass biker criminal with sexuality dripping from his pores. Habberkorn's sound had me seeing a greasy, unfi, unkempt street loiterer. I had to constantly struggle with my visualization during the audio.

What about Tatiana Sokolov and Todd Haberkorn ’s performance did you like?

I've NEVER enjoyed an audible performer more than T Sokolove. In fact, I've purchased novels solely due to her involvement in a project.

T Habb.... see above. There are a few performers that make me cringe. Unfortunately, I've found another. If I were hesitant in making a purchase, I'm afraid his involvement would easily have me moving on. Sorry dude, I'm sure you are a fine person but I find your voice so freakin' skeezy it adversely affects my sense of the character. However, I'm southern and the pleasure of sound is often subjective. I'm sure you do it for others.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

mmm - I'm not sure .... perhaps the scene wherein the hero was purposely causing the heroine to hate him; I.e., pictures ....

Any additional comments?

I'm hooked on this series - each novel is better than the one before! I have a favor to ask ... I came across the author's on line writings of a scene from Reapers Property - the initial meeting between Horse and Marie, but told from the hero's point of view. I would love to hear Tatiana perform a recording - Maybe as a gift on a future recording in this series?? What do you think? It was super hot and actually added a lot of insight to my perception of some major characters. Just a thought - in case you were looking for some benevolent act to do .... Thanks for sharing your work - you've provided lots of enjoyment, J.

Great Story

I absolutely loved Hunter aka Liams story but honestly I missed it being about the motorcycle club too. I understand why she did it that way but I feel like she couldve included a little more club life into it. abut I definitely loved their story 💜😍
