Publisher's Summary

Ten years ago, The Harlequin Boys broke my heart.

I thought my life was complete with them at my side, the five of us against the world, having each other’s backs no matter what the cost.

I’d fight for them until my dying breath.

It’s just a shame they didn’t feel the same.

Once upon a time, my imperfect world shone bright with the light of four boys I would have killed for.

This is the story of how they destroyed me.

This is a 45k prequel novella to the Harlequin Crew series. These books have dark themes, violence, criminals, gangs, and an enemies to lovers romance that will make your heart pound, break it a little, and then crush it beneath the boots of four black hearted men who our girl might just fall for anyway.

Don't skip the Prequel

This book sets up Sinners Playground nicely. If I hadn't listened to it I would have been very lost for the first part of book 1. I tend to skip prequels because they are short reads/listens and they don't always add a ton to the series. This one sets up the series so don't skip it. The authors really suck you in quickly into this new world.

Devil's Pass

Devil's Pass is a prequel to The Harlequin Crew. In this book we meet Rogue, Maverick, Chase, Fox and JJ. This book is told from multiple points of view. We get to know Rogue and her friendship with the four boys. Rogue is starting to have feelings for all four boys, and each boy is starting to fall for Rogue as well.

Something happens to Rogue and the four boys drop everything to help her clean it up. All the kids have rough lives and decide they are going to run away together. However someone finds out and Rogue ends up having to leave, and the boys have to do something to join a gang.

The boys have to act like they hate Rogue and they send her off. So Rogue feels betrayed. They are doing it to save her life, but she doesn’t know that. Maverick tries to go after Rogue and now something happened to him, and he feels betrayed by the rest of the guys.

This is a great beginning to The Harlequin Crew series. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Harlequin boys

I wasn't too excited with this narration but overall it was ok. This was a good prequel to the series. It explains in detail why Rogue feels betrayed by her boys. I have to say Maverick seems like he cares most but honestly he was wreckless. His decision in the end made things worst.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
0/5 🌶

This is the prequel novella for The Harlequin Crew series, where we meet Rouge and her boys.

This is a perfect entryway into the series.

This was a reread for me and i love doing rereads by listening to the audiobook and Bridget and Jake Bordeaux bring the characters to life perfectly.

For me anything written by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti is always a 5/5 and if narrated by Jake and Bridget once again 5/5!

Perfect intro to one of my favorite series

I am re listening to this series, as the final book is about to be released. The Harlequin Crew is one of my favorite series by the sister authors, Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti.

This novella is a quick listen and introduces the charcters and the high stakes plot of the series.

This is one of my favorite series with a found family trope. The friendships are amazing and there is lots of light lighthearted comedic moments to lighten the tough subject matter of these characters broken home Iives and Sunset cove's gang ruled streets.

The performances of narrators, Bridget and Jake Bordeaux, is excellent and I can't wait to continue listening to the rest of the series.

Perfect start to the series

Glad I listened to this first before starting the series. The books lays the perfect foundation to the Harlequin Crew series. Definitely, a great addition to your library. These two authors are amazing! Cant wait for more of their books to be on Audible! I am almost done listening to all their available Audible books. If you are interested in this series I would start with this book definitely worth the credit and gives you a taste of what to anticipate in this series.

Devil’s Pass

This is the prequel to The Harlequin Crew series. This was a great start to what is going to be an incredible series. Rouge is a foster kid on the wrong side of the tracks. She has four best friends that will do anything for her. Two of them are the infamous Luther Harlequin’s sons and the other two are gearing up to join when they come of age. Everything changes for all of them one night. Bridget and Jake Bordeaux did an amazing job narrating this book.

Not really a romance and designed to shock

I know that the idea is introduce the series and to be fair the characters are likeable, but then the tension is removed from the character relationships and it just becomes rather grim. Also it’s says there is a cliff hanger but there is not really. Vaguely clever but not really, and a little bit too hard work. Worth a read if you are stuck for something better.

One word ADDICTED

This novella has me the MOST excited I have ever been for a new series. One word ADDICTED 💕

I cannot get enough of the characters and the story and wonder how its going to develop.

This is the perfect introduction to the backstories of the characters and how they interact and become who they are as adults.

I am so so so excited to continue this series.
I have listened and read this over and over 🤣🙈

Heartbreakingly Beautiful

***** May Contain Spoilers *****

This novella tells the story of Rogue and her 4 boys, the Harlequin boys. Their friendship and love for each other carries them through their rough upbringing, living in the shadows of the Harlequin Gang, that Fox and Maverick are destined to join.

But one fateful night sets them all onto a different path that what they had hoped, their dreams of a future together, all 5 of them, crashing to the dust, leaving Rogue heartbroken and alone.

The two narrators did a great job and their voices fit the characters perfectly. They really made the story come alive.

Peckham and Valenti writes so fluently and engaging that my heart broke, right along with all of them. These girls can do no wrong and I can't wait to begin this series after this intro. I already love all these characters.
