Publisher's Summary

Missing jewels, a witch's dagger, and murder.... Just a regular day at Cardinal Woolsey's Knitting and Yarn shop in Oxford.

When glamorous vampire Sylvia discovers a movie company is remaking one of her most famous silent films, she's determined to get some creative input and decides to make knitting-shop owner Lucy the beneficiary of her estate. Lucy will front for Sylvia in dealing with the movie executives who want to recreate the priceless Cartier jewels made specially for the original movie and still owned by Sylvia.

Meanwhile, Lucy's moving along in her witch's training. It's time to choose her own athame, a dagger that she'll use for spells.

With all that going on she's barely got time to run a knitting shop, never mind solve another murder.

Ruined Character

This one went over the line in making the knitting shop owner unbelievably stupid and totally lacking a spine. Fantasy, yes but the the level of stupidity was not even acceptable for fantasy. Ratings to date extremely misleading. I'm done with this series. I almost never provide a written review in addition to a rating. This time I felt morally obligated to warn others to spend credits elsewhere.

Great Series, Least Favorite Book

I have really enjoyed all of the books in the series, but the storyline of this one felt the weakest to me. Agree with other reviews that Lucy came across as spineless in this one, and it got off to a slow start. Love the narrator and the other books in the series didn’t disappoint!

Definitely the worst in the series so far

my main 3 issues with this book:
1. the author used the same trope (reclusive rich bad guy) in a previous book
2. Lucy was freaking INSUFFERABLE
3. Sylvia behaved so differently in this book than in any others.

Another wonderful installment to a fantastic series!

I have really enjoyed this series and I am looking forward to the next installment. The narrator is absolutely fantastic! This is a wonderful cozy mystery series and every book in the series makes me feel as if I am sitting in with the vampire knitting club in the back room of cardinal Wollsey’s. If you’re looking for a cozy mystery series that allows you to feel as if you’re sitting with old friends and you have an interest in vampires and witches but are not necessarily looking for blood, guts, and gore than this series is for you.

Some semblance

This story has some semblance of what attracted me to the first one in the series. Less predictable, less dumbing down of the main character, while still keeping some mystery alive in the story.

Okay

Diamonds and Daggers was just okay. I enjoyed the plot but found Lucy annoying.

Super sluth with sass

I definitely feel like Lucy is getting more sassy ... I love it! Loving having more development and involvment of the rest of the vampires in her life too.
Also, following her knitting journey is so wonderful.

All round wholesome goodness

Having read every book in this series, I have to say I have found this to be the most wholesome mystery series I've ever encountered. Each book is very short and takes next to no time to finish but is nicely fast paced and a lot of fun. This series has even prompted me to pick up knitting!! I look forward to any more in the series!
