Story
It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old". Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.

It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

Story
My love story all started with a letter. Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for. You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months. So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far. While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father.

Story
The beginning of my sophomore year in college was off to a rough start. On the first day of orientation, I had an altercation with an infuriating British dude in a campus bathroom. (The ladies’ room was out of order. So, I used the men’s room. Don’t judge.) I got home later that night and realized that the foreign student we were expecting to rent a room in my parents’ house was allergic to our cat. So, the spare room went to someone else: Caleb - the British guy from the men’s room. And so it began...my love-hate story with Caleb Yates. Or was it hate-love in that order?

It was the summer of my life. I’d met the guy of my dreams. Unfortunately, he was the son of my uppity employer - and very much off-limits. But Gavin was a rebel. He knew his mother would disown him if she found out about us; in his eyes, we just had to be careful. He never treated me as his mother did - like hired help. Instead, Gavin put me on a pedestal and loved me harder than I’d ever been loved in my life.

Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

The one that got away. Every girl has one, right? Mine was a charming, British aristocrat who turned my world upside down one summer. From the moment I first spotted Leo in the distance through my binoculars, I’d been captivated. I certainly never expected to find a man showering outside of the property across the bay in his birthday suit.

Finding a good roommate through a classified ad isn’t as easy as it sounds. I was starting to lose hope. Until a knock at my door came, and God answered my prayers. Except...uh...wrong prayer, God. I’d definitely requested the big guy find me a drop-dead gorgeous man on more than one occasion...just not as my roommate. Declan Tate talked me into interviewing him anyway. While he was amusing and charismatic, I wouldn’t have been comfortable living with a man, so I regretfully declined. Then, cupcakes showed up at my door.

My planned trip for two unexpectedly turned into a trip for one. Rather than let my breakup get me down, I packed my bags and decided a week at a luxury resort was just what I needed. But one calamity after the next, and suddenly I was stuck without a hotel room, along with a few hundred other people. It looked like my fancy vacation was about to turn into me sleeping on the hotel lobby floor. Until I overheard a gorgeous man pretending to be someone he wasn’t in order to steal a reservation from a guest who hadn’t shown up yet.

A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

Donovan and I met at a coffee shop to do the suitcase exchange. Turned out, it wasn’t just his voice that was sexy. The man holding my luggage was absolutely gorgeous, and we had an immediate spark. He got me to admit that I’d snooped in his bag and then convinced me to make it up to him by letting him buy me coffee. Coffee led to dinner, dinner led to dessert, and dessert led to spending an entire weekend together. So what did I do to repay him for his kindness? Publisher's Summary
2021 Audie Award Winner for Best Romance Audiobook
An Amazon Charts and Washington Post best seller
From New York Times best-selling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes an unexpected love story that started with a boy and girl and heats up when the man and woman reconnect.
I’d never forgotten him - a man I’d yet to meet.
Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break.
Until one day, it did.
Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing.
Griffin forgave me, and somehow we were able to rekindle our childhood connection. Only now we were adults, and that connection had grown to a spark. Our letters quickly went from fun to flirty to downright dirty, revealing our wildest fantasies. So it only made sense that we would take our relationship to the next level and see each other in person.
Only Griff didn’t want to meet. He asked that I trust him and said it was for the best. But I wanted more - more Griff, in the flesh - so I took a big chance and went looking for him. People have done crazier things for love.
But what I found could change everything.
Critic Reviews
"Jacob Morgan and Andi Arndt share the narration of this highly charged romance.... Morgan and Arndt both emote as their characters exchange "dirty letters" and sexual taunts that grow steamier and more erotic, including descriptions of BDSM sex play." --AudioFile Magazine
"An anxious, agoraphobic heroine takes center stage in this optimistic contemporary from Keeland and Ward...Griffin and Luca’s letters are endearing and believably intimate.... Readers motivated to see this unlikely heroine succeed will forgive the more fantastical indulgences of this light, escapist romance." --Publishers Weekly

I really loved this story. At first I thought it was going to be too angsty for me but it wasn't at all. I love when characters aren't perfect like Luca but they are truly trying to get better. Character growth is a big deal for me. I also loved that Luca & Griffin have a very long history but it still feels new. This book has great characters, lots of humor & is very sexy. I smiled a lot, felt a little sad at times and want my very own Griffin! He was sweet, understanding and just went along with everything as much as he could even if it wasn't his ideal situation. He just loved Luca for who she was... SWOON!!! Doc might be the best side character ever too!
The narration was perfect, Andi Arndt as always was great but Jacob Morgan stole the show with his British accent.

Enjoyed this second chance romance!
Luca suffers from severe anxiety following a deadly fire, 8 years ago. Doc has been treating her, and is her source of support. They travel to NYC from her refuge in Vermont. Packing her deceased father’s home she finds a letter from her forgotten childhood pen-pal, Griffin.
The emotional story is full of second chances, friends to lovers, dealing with real life struggles of fame & anxiety.
I felt these authors did a good job of showing how difficult it is for someone who has debilitating fears. Their struggles were realistic & relatable.
I loved Luca’s friendship with Doc & her pet pig. Griffin is a lovable hero with his sexy British accent, rockstar ways & his dirty letters he wrote to Luca.
I’m a big fan of Vi & Penelope, their stories never disappoint me.

An emotional and sweet romance
You can always count on VK and PW to write an emotional and enjoyable story and having Andi and Jacob narrate it really elevates it to a different level. I mean just the British accent alone is swoon worthy. Love the premise of the story and the emotional depth of the writing. The letters are so innocent and sweet when they were reread. Now the grownups version are dirty indeed.

Makes the 3 most hated female characters
I’m a very empathetic person, and I tried to be so towards the female character (named Luca which reminds me of leukoplakia, oral keratosis and the bullying nickname given to Lucas in the 80s film. Not cute) but Luca turned out to be an emotionally, mentally and spiritually crippled whiner who was such a life sucking milquetoast she not only didn’t deserve Griffin, she ruined the entire book. I get what the writers were trying to do—inject a romance book with substance and depth but these books are meant to be an escape from the drags and stresses of real life, reading about a fragile nutty shut-in attempting to woo a gorgeous, sexy British International rockstar while she drug everything down with her complete ineptitude at every encounter in life while he did literally everything...it was just absurd. He moved mountains to accommodate her endless hang ups. It was impossible to see Luca as anything but a meek mess, so then hearing about their explicit sex scenes involving pleasuring with furbies was just gross and entirely unsexy. Andi Arndt is truly great but starting feel a bit mom-ish for steamy books. And Jacob Morgan is flawless as always, and his British accent sounds spot on as well as how he seamlessly moved from American to British in a breath without missing a syllable. The narration is where the stars are on this one for me.

What an amazing story
I half read and half listened to this wonderful story. It deserves 15 🌟 stars I truly believe this because I wanted to leave a review way before I finished this book. The letters were funny, sweet, and beautiful. Loved the characters. Luca and Griff were perfect for each other. It was a long road for both of them to find their HEA. And it was perfect. The narrators were awesome. They performed both male and female role to perfection. So I definitely say buy this book/audio, you won't regret it.

Sweet Second Chance-ish Romance
Overall 4 stars
Performance 4.5 stars
Story 4 stars
I really enjoyed this one! It was sweet and sexy, but also dealt with some serious issues too. I liked how the authors didn’t create some magical solution, but rather took a more realistic approach to Luca’s fears and anxiety. It was so cute how Griffin and Luca reconnected and their meet cute couldn’t have been sweeter when they were kids. I did think it was a little odd that their letters turned sexual so quickly after reconnecting, but I enjoyed their chemistry and playful banter. I loved that from the moment they come back in each other’s lives, Griffin is all in. The lengths that he went to take care of and support Luca were incredible.
I both read and listened to this one and the narration by Jacob Morgan and Andi Arndt was wonderful. I’m not used to hearing Jacob Morgan with a British accent, but honestly you can’t go wrong with this narrating duo. An enjoyable read/listen that left my heart happy!

If I have to explain why Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward books are an auto download for me.. this particular book is probably on my top picks to sum it all up. I don't know how they do it! They took the basic trope of friends to lovers and molded it into a story that was so epic that by the end my heart broke because it was over!
This is a story of a famous reclusive author and a rockstar who fell in love before fame and tragedy stuck. Life happened and they lost each other. After each character takes one leap after another they finally get the HEA that they were destined for. This particular book deals with overcoming fear that can't easily be explained or solved. It also highlights the importance of being "all in" when it comes to fighting for what you want.
Andi Arndt &, Jacob Morgan .. do I really have to review them?.. If you haven't listened to these narrators then you are in for the best 8 hrs of story telling time that will probably ever encounter...
Worth a credit for sure.. I would have bought this listen outright if i didn't have credits to use because it was just that damn good!

OH MY HEART.. MY HEART
What an emotionally gripping, romantic and heartachingly beautiful love story you two gifted authors have written.. about two pen pals who lost touch with each other in their teens and how their new rekindled adult letter-writing turns into a sexy ‘n sweet fairytale of a romance. From the story, I felt the hopelessness, the frustration, the anxiety and the optimistic anticipation because it oozes from your well-crafted pages as twenty-five yr old agoraphobic Luca mentally wrestles with her phobia while she bravely takes step after step outside her comfort zone for love. And Griffin is a Rockstar in more ways than one as Luca takes her tentative steps towards their future, Griffin is so supportive, deserving and eager to do whatever it takes to be right by her side, hold her hand, slay her demons and unconditionally love her forever. However, their journey isn’t easy, it won’t be won in a day and it won’t be without it’s heartbreaking pitfalls and challenges.. but it will be oh so worth it in the end.
Worth a credit? This is a gem of a love story and yes, so worth a credit.. it’s got romance, tender sentiments, touching words, sex, a couple of endearing secondary characters, a drop of humor.. and even a pet pig. Clean it up a wee bit and it’d make a great Disney Romance movie.. but the excellent dual POV narration by Andi and Jason guaranteed it’d be a glorious 5 star listen.

Flight Or Fight?
Wow!
This story really resonates with me. Although not the same condition, mine mimics the same path as the main character Luca. I too get anxious about going out; I panic when surrounded by large groups of people and one by one, as my condition worsens, my world gets smaller, as friends become fewer and fewer because they dont have the time to get to understand my situation.
So there comes a point where you either accept life as it is, or you fight to change it for the better - Flight or Fight!
Another really well plotted story by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. Empathetic to the end. A love story included too. Brilliantly narrated. I didn’t want the story to end. I thought this story was well written and would have no problems in recommending it to other readers/listeners. Go on dip your toe in.

Oh my goodness!!!
I read works from these writers from another app and I'm so so INCREDIBLY glad that I moved to audible to continue exploring the work /stories (I'm not saying that apps... Like.... Erm.... Moments... Are bad.... but I've found that you get a cropped version on there of several books I've reread/experienced again on here).
I laughed my way through the story even though there's a lot of difficult times for the characters.... I loved it... It also had a few canny saucy moments.... I REALLY REALLY don't want to spoil it but if you're a "cryer" like me, you can guarantee that you will be sobbing towards the end..... So prepare yourself for it!!
Ooooooooooooo.... What to read now?! 🤷🏻♀️🤯😹❤️

not a fan of the male narrator
story was great! personally i did not like the male voice, something about hos tone, like he just read out loud, and also, there was a lot of "mouth sounds" and breathing. But, still a great book :-)

Started off amazing and then drifted off
This book was great to begin with, but by the end it was more like an insight into therapy for agoraphobia, rather than giving you insight into the characters and their relationship development. The focus was too skewed. It got a bit dull and anticlimactic by the end after the book lost its way. Shame after a strong beginning!

I was so excited to listen to this book but after 1 hour cannot handle anymore. I’m of the mindset now where I don’t torture myself listening to something I’m not enjoying.
I couldn’t get into the story at first because of Luca’s name, all I could think of was Luca Magnotta the male murderer. I usually connect with female characters with a traumatic past but his one just didn’t work for me unfortunately.
Usually I like both narrators but I feel like Andi is becoming almost boring to listen to and Jacobs English accent was just bad. Like seriously why is it so difficult just to find an English male narrator if he’s going to narrate with an English accent. You could quite clearly tell it was an American guy, it’s a shame because I really do usually enjoy Jacob’s narrations.
The letters from griffin seemed extremely juvenile, and not like they were written by a what 25 year old man.
Lastly the authors. I usually quite enjoy both of their work separately, but I find when they work together it really is hit or miss. I thought hate notes was one of their best collaborations. This however did nothing for me. I do wonder if I would have got further with a physical copy.

Umm, Dirty Letters? Yes please
Love, love, love this book.
A very different storyline to tackle but so beautifully done. Genius casting of narrators - Andi brilliant as always, but Jacob donning an English accent, oh my!
Loved this book, never wanted it to end and am having such a book hangover after.
Thank you ladies for such a lovely story.

omg!! The British accent is so hot!!!
If Jacob Morgan is the British voice over then damn, I'm crushing hard. By chapter 19 my heart was breaking. As a person who herself suffers from a General Anxiety Disorder and was at one point suffering from Agoraphobia I felt her pain and his frustration. it's a selfish and isolating condition. I couldn't finish by chapter 26 I've left the book on a high because I can't bare to have my heart broken. I can't stop the dread that I feel is looming. I had a lump in my throat even at the talk of the guy going away for band touring. My poor heart.

Kinda blah..
Felt like the story line dragged on, and I found, I wasn't really enjoying myself towards the end.
Plus I wasn't really feeling the English accent, didn't sound authentic.

Perfection
Absolutely would recommend this book to anyone. Was fantastic, was my first ever audiobook and it has ignited my passion for more. Well done to everyone involved in the writing of the story, the publisher and the narrator’s. Couldn’t put it down x
