What would have made Dirty Secret better?

The protagonist, Kennedy/Eva is a mess! She's a HORRIBLE spy/covert operative. Her love interest Nix, is perfect. Exactly what he's supposed to be. But the problem is, Nix susses Eva/Kennedy out in a matter of seconds, then blows her cover in under 24 hours. After that she just keeps making mistake after mistake after massive blunder. I'm sorry, but the feminist in me was just SHREIKING. I couldn't get past it. I was so disgusted by her ineptitude that I DNF's at 20-30%. ugh. If you don't mind picking up a spy/romance thrill where the female lead is a vapid, addled mistake ridden ninny , go for it. I just couldn't do it. Nope.

Would you ever listen to anything by Chelle Bliss and Brenda Rothert again?

Absolutely, I usually enjoy Chelle's writing, this one however missed the mark, by A LOT! Chelle, Chelle, Chelle, why oh why did you make your supposed female super spy a complete nit wit? Have you no faith in your own sex at all? We are so much more than a sum of our parts, my dear. Seriously.

Which character – as performed by Kirsten Leigh and Sebastian York – was your favorite?

I love love LOVE Sebastion York. and he did not disappoint here, Kristen Leigh, was really excellent here as well. But the weak, simpering female lead was just a total dud for me.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment and IRE. You know, the US actually has very effective, very powerful, very amazing female covert agents. Too bad the writers couldn't have referenced any of them when creating their portrayal of "Eva". For an example, Valerie Plame comes to mind. And let's not forget there haven't been a slew of powerful female sleuths in literature. I just don't know WHERE or HOW they went so wrong, but boy did they.

I loved this book! It was exciting and hot all in one. Something about the female agent and the bad boy was perfect for me. I wanted him to turn out to be on the right side of the law from he beginning and I dreaded when he found out that she was an agent and that kept me on the edge of my seat. This might be my favorite book by this author yet!

The narration was excellent! I am a big Sebastian York fan but something was different about his narration in this book in a good way. I actually forget he was narrating and I don't know if that is because he had a different tone throughout this book or if it was the story that made me forget. Either way both him and Kirsten Leigh did a great job narrating this book!

Thrilling and sexy..

Sometimes the bad guy isn't who you think he is.
Half way through this book the lines got blurred because nothing I originally thought turned out to be what was really going on. I loved the twists and turns combined with the magnetic attraction the character's have for each other. It definitely reflected in the bedroom scenes. Kirsten and Sebastian's performances also enhanced the sexiness of this book. This was credit worthy for me.

Fun, Entertaining & Full of Suspense!

This was an entertaining story, full of action, suspense and lots of steamy romance. Kennedy aka Eva, and Nix were one unlikely pair; she was the agent, he was the hacker, but the chemistry and attraction between them was off the charts. I enjoyed plot, the twists, and liked how the authors weaved all the secrets, betrayal, lust and suspensions throughout the story. Kennedy's character was a little annoying. She was suppose to be this well trained secret agent but it seemed liked she kept getting herself into one dangerous situations after another, and Nix had to come to her rescue.

Dirty Secret was well worth the sale price, and I'll definitely be looking for more audios by either narrator.

Conflicted Feelings

Idk I didn't dislike this book, but I didn't really like it that much either. I didn't like the characters. Phoenix was too hung up on Kennedy/Eva and I don't like the way he handled his relationship with Kennedy and turning a blind eye to all the signs. Kennedy was annoying with her wishy washy emotions. She's suppose to work over Phoenix, but really just ends up sleeping with him and gets no info out of him. She has the nerve to be upset when he finds out for sure who she is and what she did. Both of these characters and dumb and I hate their relationship.

I did enjoy the narration and had no problems with the listening experience. Sebastian York is always great and enjoyable to listen to and I really liked Kirsten Leigh.

I see why people like this book. It just wasn't for me.

I loved it!!!

This is the first book by Chelle Bliss that I have listened to. The format is the dual narration where the narrators reading entire POV chapters. I thought both of them nailed it. This book is so much more than the typical romance. It has character development, action, hot sex and unexpected twists and turns. I would love to see the author continue writing some more stories based on other characters in this book as they would be so good, yet standalone. (Wolf would be my next pick). I loved the character of Kennedy (Eva) and came to enjoy Phoenix. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was given this review copy audiobook at no charge upon my request by the author, publisher, and/or narrator and my review is totally voluntary.

Awesome listen

I listened straight through today. It was one of those books that I just couldn't stop listening to. It was nonstop action, no down time. I constantly wanted to know what was going to happen. I loved it.

Kennedy is a black ops agent and Phoenix Ash is on the wrong side of the law and also Kennedy's target. Unfortunately for both of them, they end up catching feelings for each other.

I loved the strong female character of Kennedy. There were times, either with her language or behavior, that I had a hard time buying into her being an agent. However by the end, I was convinced and buying into everything she was selling. Phoenix, or Ash as he's known, is every girls dream. Alpha and hot and all man. He was such a great character to read. I'm in love.

Kirsten Leigh is a great narrator. She is a fantastic narrator! I think a little bit of the reason I had a hard time connecting with the toughness of Kennedy, however, was Kirsten's sweet, kind and passive voice. Her narration was great. Totally spot on. But her voice was just not quite aggressive or dominant enough to pass for a black ops agent. Sebastian York is amazing. SebYo is my spirit animal. He is so good at everything he does. He was a perfect Ash. Loved it.

Hot and dangerous

This is a fast paced book with lots of heat and danger. Nix's character keeps you guessing from start to finish whether he’s a good guy or one of the bad guys. Kennedy a.k.a. Eva‘s character is one of the good guys working in the field with the bad guys. There are lots going on and it keeps your attention from start to finish.

Sebastian York and Kristin Leigh are fantastic narrating this book. I enjoyed listening to both of them from beginning to end.

5 A Spy Story Unlike Any I've Read Before Stars!!!

I had to listen to this one right after I finished Dirty Work so I could complete my binge listening!!

They've done it again! The writing due of Ms. Bliss and Ms. Rothert have once again given me a book that literally had me from the very beginning! There's intrigue and suspense along with a love story that no one saw coming especially Kennedy and Phoenix! Talk about keeping secrets...given that Kennedy has a job to find and contain Phoenix who is a master at not leaving a trail just makes Kennedy that much more determined to prove she's so much more than her lineage!

I loved every single thing about this book...the writing, the story, the pace of events and how it all built up to an ending that had me smiling and of course the steamy and sizzling sex between our H/h. I'm a fan for life and can't wait to see what this amazing duo has up their sleeves for us!

OMG!!

I couldn't stop listening! The authors are new to me! I couldn't wait to hear what was going to happen next! And Kirsten and Sebastian did a great job with the narration! I am going to have to see what these authors have written! Wow!
Yes, I did request this free audiobook! And I am sooo glad I did! I am giving this honest review voluntarily!!!
