Story
As this book's title suggests, Norm Macdonald tells the story of his life - more or less - from his origins on a farm in the-back-of-beyond Canada and an epically disastrous appearance on Star Search to his account of auditioning for Lorne Michaels and his memorable run as the anchor of Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live - until he was fired because a corporate executive didn't think he was funny. But Based on a True Story is much more than a memoir; it's the hilarious, inspired epic of Norm's life.

Review of Stuart Woods’ “Dirty Work”
I like all of the Stone Barrington stories but this was not one of the best. He usually has happier endings but not this one. I assume that Stone and Felicity will make up in a future book. I would prefer the “F” word not be mentioned so often but I guess this is typical language in NY. I will look forward to the next one. Don Pearce

Engaging story very well told
Dirty Works pits an incredible but believable assassin against British intelligence. The tension builds to a climax in a financial transaction oversight the consequences of which are deadly. Beautifully told with detail that fills in the picture of the characters such that the reader feels as if they are within a hand shake or a shoulder pat away. As always, the audio book version of Stuart Woods is "made" by Tony Roberts as the narrator.

I love the Stone Barrington character so I've either read or listened to much of these by Stuart Woods. I'd say this one didn't capture my attention as much as usual but it was still loads of entertainment.
