Publisher's Summary

Life isn't always easy for women today! In the shuffle of so many responsibilities, it's easy to lose focus on pursuing godliness in every task. That's why a woman must train herself to reflect on everything she encounters and determine whether or not it encourages holiness. Her character, relationships, ministry, even her soul - all need to be examined and ultimately surrendered to God before she can develop the godly character she so desperately wants.

Through poignant stories and faithful reminders, Barbara Hughes encourages women to discipline every area so that God is most glorified and they are most unified with Him.

YAWN

I listened to this book about six months ago, and can hardly remember any of it. I will share with you what I do remember though. Very elementry, not for a seasoned grown up christian. I didnt finish this book, because it was kinda like reading a first grade primer. I took a moment to relisten again to a few seconds of this book to see if that would jog any memories of the book for me. It did, it reinforced my boredom with it. OK this book would work for my mother who is 62, and maybe for a new christian woman who is NOT young, NOT under 40 years old. Dont give this book to a "thinking type" give it to the "emotional Sanguine type". I would have liked this book if I were not such an analytical and non emotional type. It has a great message and heart, just not a read for me

Read the book yourself.

I ordered the paperback after listening to this. It contains so much more than the audiobook, including the study questions at the end of each chapter. Getting the book itself is better. I don't recommend this.

Another Great Read

Goes into different stages of a Godly woman. Supported from different parts of the bible. Reminds me of The Kingdom Woman by Tony Evans.

Annoyed by the reader.

The book is good, full of useful information, but the narrator reads it as if she is reading to five-year-olds.

Great reminders and anecdotes

Good for beginner Christians and good reminders for the maturing woman of God. Good anecdotes and explanations of some of the disciplines we must embrace. The last chapter on how to is encouraging.

Thankful for this book

I've really enjoyed this book and found it so informative and practical. I think this is a perfect read for every woman striving to be godly, whether a new believer in Jesus or a seasoned woman of faith. There is plenty of advice on how to incorporate these disciplines into your life, and everything is sound teaching based on Scripture. I enjoyed listening to this book and even slowed it down a bit so as to really take it all in.

Grow, grow, and grow some more!

Barbara offers us so much in this book. I often find that books for women are tailored to the wife and the mother. There is something in here for every woman in every season of her life and walk. For that reason, you can read it over and over and be filled each time. The way it was written and read made it easy to understand yet not so watered down that you lost interest. I LOVE the amount of scripture used in this book. It really is like sitting in a cafe across from a lady imparting wisdom, encouragement, and reciprocal ministry.
