THIS NEEDED TO BE UNABRIDGED

WHAT RUINED THIS FOR ME I KNEW BEFORE I READ IT. I WANTED THE UNABRIDGED VERSION AND THEY NEVER OFFERED IT, FINALLY BOUGHT THE ABRIDGED AND IT WAS OK BUT I RELLY WANTED THE WHOLE BOOK, JUST LIKE I WOUULD LIKE "IF YOU RELLY LOVED ME" BY ANN RULE. BUT THAT BOOK IS ONLY OFFERED IN ABRIDGED. I WON'T BUY ABRIDGED AGAIN (EXEPT IN CASES LIKE LES MISERABLES" WHICH IS THE ONLY ABRIDGED BOOK I EVER PURPOSLY BOUGHT.

Impossible to understand

When I bought this I failed to realise it was an abridged version. Now I still believe the full version of this book is very good, just as all other Chrichton books, but I could not follow or enjoy the storyline of this abridged version.

worth it

Although I have read better Michael Crichton books I believe the listener will be highly entertained and possibly educated about sexual harassment in the workplace. What excites me most is that the book is read by John Lithgow. If you can find Bonfire of The Vanities GET IT. Lithgow plays all characters brilliantly as he does in Disclosure. The story moves well. The characters are 3 dimensional.

Loved it!

Would you listen to Disclosure again? Why?

Yes. It was a well-crafted story with believable characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Meredith Johnson. She was the picture of a woman who felt entitled to take whatever action she felt necessary to achieve her goals.

What about John Lithgow’s performance did you like?

Everything! He has a talent for voices which makes him an excellent choice for storytelling!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I can't point to any particular part of the story because there were so many aspects of the story that leapt at me during the entire performance!

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this story to anyone who was interested in michael crichton books!

A different take on an old problem

There are many stories in the news about sexual harassment. This book, based on a true story, takes a look at the problem when the victim is a man. With the usual twists and turns, common in a Crichton book, this is well worth reading.

Great!!!

I remember this movie from long ago....but I was young and not that interested or educated in life as much. Now I have a Masters Degree and have had a top exec position with a prominent company....this true story does happen and they cover it up all the time!!!!

Sexy One

Book is about office politics and sexual harassment...based on real story. Both heroes and villains are believable. And, it's about high tech 20 years ago. I saw the movie about 10 years ago and thought that I recalled the plot--but it was different than I recall...better. In my opinion, the theme/lesson is that anyone can throw out the sexual harassment flag, is instantly believed, and it shouldn't be so.

Enjoyable Short-Read

Covers a lot of ground while also quick to read. Seriously effective writing.

There is a lawyer here who is a hero. She’s also a gopher, but that’s less pertinent.

Good as the movie, and four times longer.

What made the experience of listening to Disclosure the most enjoyable?

Having looked for this audiobook for a long time so I felt like I hit the lottery. Personally experiencing both sides of this problem and, knowing how damaging it can be to victimizer and victim, has made me less susceptible to the pressure of the person with the power and aware that I must not abuse any pressure my power may give me.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I appreciated each character for who they were and could see why they each responded to the situation as they did.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed watching Tom Sander's realization of his situation once he was able to pull away with the help of A. Friend to see the bigger picture. Support from anyone in a crisis is critical to a satisfactory outcome.

Any additional comments?

I am one of those people who listen to their books may times. I expect to Disclosure once a month.

Good storyline

Outside of some technical repeats, the story follows the interesting developments of a harassment case from both sides.
