Our failure to acknowledge this trauma, let alone root it out, has allowed it to metastasize. Whether it manifests itself in rising levels of rage and hatred, or hopelessness and apathy, the stress of living in a country we no longer recognize has affected all of us. America is suffering from PTSD - a new leader alone cannot fix us.

Publisher's Summary
This book almost didn’t see the light of day as government officials tried to bar its publication.
The inside story of the real President Trump, by his former attorney and personal advisor - the man who helped get him into the oval office
Once Donald Trump’s fiercest surrogate, closest confidant, and staunchest defender, Michael Cohen knows where the skeletons are buried.
This is the most devastating business and political horror story of the century. As Trump’s lawyer and “fixer”, Cohen not only witnessed firsthand but was also an active participant in the inner workings of Trump’s business empire, political campaign, and presidential administration.
This is a story that you have not read in newspapers, or on social media, or watched on television. These are accounts that only someone who worked for Trump around the clock for over a decade - not a few months or even a couple of years - could know. Cohen describes Trump’s racist rants against President Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, and Black and Hispanic people in general, as well as the cruelty, humiliation, and abuse he leveled at family and staff. Whether he’s exposing the fact that Trump engaged in tax fraud by inflating his wealth or electronic fraud by rigging an online survey, or outing Trump’s Neanderthal views towards women or his hush-money payments to clandestine lovers, Cohen pulls no punches.
He shows Trump’s relentless willingness to lie, exaggerate, mislead, or manipulate. Trump emerges as a man without a soul - a man who courts evangelicals and then trashes them, panders to the common man, but then rips off small business owners, a con man who will do or say absolutely anything to win, regardless of the cost to his family, his associates, or his country.
At the heart of Disloyal, we see how Cohen came under the spell of his charismatic "Boss" and, as a result, lost all sense of his moral compass.
The real "real" Donald Trump who permeates this audiobook - the racist, sexist, homophobic, lying, cheating president - will be discussed, written about, and analyzed for years to come.

The narrator does an excellent job- he doesn’t sound like the course Trump sycophant author I feared might be chosen as the reader. Michael Cohen is a liar and a crook— but his story is highly consistent with all of the biographical information I’ve read about Donald Trump. Buy this important book- not to support Michael Cohen, but to assure this information gets out to the public.

Disloyal:
I got the feeling Mr. Cohen is remorseful. Remorse is one thing but for the actions he was involved with he should feel so. At least he took responsibility for his part in the creation of the worst President we've ever had in our history. If only Trump remains historically the worst President in our history, that will be a good thing. I hope he doesn't get a second term because I don't believe a democratic republic like ours can survive another four more Trump years. Thank you for sharing a needed warning to us and making it apparent how important voting is, our voices really do matter!

Distressing and Relieving
I loved this book. I've researched Trump through many contemporary authors, but Cohen's book helped me the most to understand just what we're up against as a nation.
This book felt like balm, in places. hearing someone who's done stupid and harmful things for the love of power was revelatory, and his angry confession reoriented my psyche to this authoritarian nightmare we're all experiencing.
it was good to hear a bad guy say im sorry, over and over.

It Takes One to Know One—Sleezballs
Michael Cohen admits to being no better than a gangster lawyer. His lack of scruples is exceeded only by his boss Donald Trump. Oddly, his admission to underhanded, dishonest, and twisted use if the law completely squares with Trump’s history, much of which can be verified by a minimal amount of research.
“Disloyal: A Memoir” is unnerving. It is clear Michael Cohen knows Trump’s worst character flaws. He was the most intimate of enablers.
He knows not only Trump’s darkness, but exposes early details of the Jerry Falwell, Jr. and wife Becky’s scandal.
Cohen reveals the he and all Trump “yes men” are capable of anything to please Donald Trump—until Trump turns on them.
It is a great read—believable and terrifying.

Engaging, well-written/edited and shocking
Wow! Wow! Wow! Cohen “knows where all the bodies are,” as they say. He has nothing left to lose, and I believed every word in this book. Every story of how Trump manipulates, breaks the law, cons people, etc. He takes ownership of his dirty deeds and give the reader a behind the scenes of how those dirty deeds came together.
This book should be read by every American before heading to the polls.
Highly recommend this book.

Confirms what we’ve previously heard/read
Interesting insight from Trump’s lawyer.
Insight into family dynamic.
Although the title suggests Cohen has been disloyal to his former boss by writing the book, it is in fact more likely that it is Trump who has been disloyal to him.
Let’s hope the American electorate use their right to vote wisely in November 2020.

A frightening tale, but one that is fascinating
I listened to this book from start to finish in one go. In many ways the author is responsible for enabling the rise of the man who was to become the 45th President. Like all Karmic outcomes he now knows what it feels like to be used and betrayed by someone he believe would look out for him. Cohen does not ask for forgiveness, or even for you to understand his actions, he is however offering a stark warning about the man we know as Donald Trump, his modus operandi and the lengths he will go to for what he wants.....and the extent of revenge he is willing to inflict to those opposing him

Disturbingly plausible
I expected a self-justifying tirade against Donald Trump, but this book goes far deeper into the current American zeitgeist. There is inevitably the Nuremburg defence of 'only obeying orders', but Cohen plausibly explains how he came under Trump's spell, and confesses to carrying out despicable instructions willingly, and even enthusiastically. Reading this account, it is hard not to see echoes of the Mafia, with unquestioning obedience encouraged by fear or, perhaps mor appropriately, the power of religious cult leaders who exert a coercive charismatic power over their willing acolytes. As the book progresses, Cohen's relationship with Trump begins to look more like Stockholm syndrome, as he accepts abuse without question for the sake of pleasing his 'boss'.
It would be easy to dismiss this version of events as self-justifying fantasy, except that Cohen quotes names, places, times and dates that can easily be checked and which, for the most part, agree with other 'insider' accounts of this period. This, together with a surprisingl lack of adjectival embellishment, lends an uncomfortable plausibility to the disturbing narrative.
Cohen predicts that Trump will never willingly surrender power and that there would not be an orderly transition - a prophecy that, as 2020 draws to a close, is coming true.
This book exposes a side of Trump's character that many have suspected, but which has been largely suppressed by spin doctors and unethical lawyers. More than this, though, it provides a plausible insight into the American political and legal systems. As Cohen suggests in his epilogue, listen to the book and (when emotions have subsided) make up your own mind how much of it is the worrying truth.

Detailed account of life with Trump
The narrator was ideally picked for this book. I could sense the emphasis Cohen had placed on certain aspects throughout the book, via his voice. So definitely an easy listen and overall good choice.
Cohen came across candid, honest and detailed about his wrecking ball life as Trump's fixer. Although I couldn't escape the thought that he was white washing some parts of what will certainly be remembered in the future, as a complete s***show of a campaign and administration. Though mostly on his part, as he seems to hold no love for Donald, except for some nostalgia of the early days of his own rise to power.
If anything, this book confirms what others along the lines of: Fire and Fury, Very Stable Genius and A Warning, have already echoed. Trump has no clue, is impulsive and only cares about winning, regardless of the outcomes for others. This is the third time I have heard the sentiment given that Trump didn't expect to win, and played this wholly as an opportunity to get more exposure for his brand.
Please America, vote this clown out of office.

Riveting!
The best book on Trump, IMO. Great insight. Trump is so obvious in his dishonesty it beggars belief how he got to be POTUS but then 74 mill voted for him in this election!!! That’s a dumbness beyond explanation or comprehension. We owe Michael Cohen, although no saint, a debt of gratitude for this book and for his bravery.

A Must read for ALL Trump Supporters.
A very good picture of the infestation lurking around in the White House right now, I highly recommend this book to anyone who really wants to know about who Trump actually is.

Author deserves his jail time
I feel the book is a mixture of truth and self serving lies. The author deserves the jail time he got. It's well written but the subject matter is stomach turning. He may say he's trying to amend for inflicting Trump on the world but I doubt there's anything he can do to make up for the chaos his boss and indirectly him, have caused worldwide. He should spend the rest of his life trying to make amends. No decent human being would do the things he did.

A MUST READ: Michael : Redemption
Kudos to Michael!
Before Michael came clean to congress about his being the 'fixer' in Trump Org. I personally thought he was scum of the earth but, WOW this book is his redemption.
The Alarm Bells are ringing so loudly on this corrupt POTUS.......We must listen to the Alarms.

A Story that needs to be told
The book is well written and maintains a great narrative. Profoundly concerning for a country said to be governed by the ’rule of law’ and democracy.
Frightening.
I wish Michael Cohen & his family the best.

Compulsory reading
This is an absolutely extraordinary account by a man who for a decade worked at close quarters to the man who is now President of the United States. It reveals Trump to be a totally dishonest and racist man without scruples. The sooner American voters get rid of him, the better the US and the world will be.

Even open minded Republicans would like this book
It seems at this point in time, there are no open minded nor sane Republicans. It’s so easy to despise the Republican Party at the moment, and this book goes a long way To explain why.

Riveting read
Great book. I think we got to see a portrait of the real Trump and it ain’t nice. Although there is obviously some bias any sane person reading this book has got to realise what a delinquent megalomaniac Trump is.
