Publisher's Summary

Building on her signature message of using the mind to master difficult emotions, Joyce Meyer focuses on the most destructive, insidious one of all: anger. It is responsible for broken relationships, sleepless nights, high blood pressure and ulcers. It destroys friendships, marriages and families, not to mention peace of mind. Anger is especially hard to handle for many Christians who have learned from childhood that "good Christians don't get angry." Meyer argues that properly handled, anger is an alert system that something is wrong and needs to be resolved.

In her latest book, she delves into the important process of forgiving, explaining its positive impact on the roots, the forms and the results of anger.

Why forgive? Joyce explains that forgiving is the only thing that can free one from the terrible turmoil that anger causes to spill over into every part of life.

Meyer understands that life will never be fair, but that is not a reason to let anger destroy our well-being and health. This is her guide to navigating that thorny territory and finding true peace.

Clear steps please!

Yeah I know that to forgive someone is important, that is why I bought the audiobook!....but HOW? this audiobook is great on chatting about forgiveness but it does not provide helpful tools to achieve it. If you want results you will be disappointed with this audiobook.

Couldn't finish it. Love Joyce but the narrator..

What disappointed you about Do Yourself a Favor...Forgive?

I couldn't listen to the narrator. She sounded just like Joan Cusack. I'm sorry but it was just too distracting. I made it half way but it was an effort. Had to quite. Really love Joyce Meyer so it's a shame.

Excellent guidance on forgiveness

If you are a Joyce Meyer follower, you will not be disappointed with this book. It holds true to form as she delves into the very difficult topic of forgiveness. She does have a few opinions that others may struggle with such as forgiving and re-establishing a relationship. For some of us, that may be more than we can handle. She gives scripture to support her advice as well as references to events in her life. Overall, this is like all Joyce Meyer book's- a good read and opens the reader up to further discussion and study.
Some have complained about the narrators voice but since I, personally, don't like Joyce Meyer's voice, I found the narrators voice pleasant.

Excellent

Excellent lesson on forgiveness! Joyce shares very painful memories and how to overcome. She’s not telling you to do anything different than what God taught her. She has walked the path of pain.

God's got the powah

Because Jesus solves every problem if you simply say "have this problem sir jewish cosmic zombie" and then bam, you feel better and completely forget about how something done onto you by another completely dictated the outcome and even future outcomes of your life. This is stupid lol

This book changed my life!

I had no idea that my lack of forgiveness was the root of my continued pain and anger. My anger was justifiable, so I thought that holding onto it was justified, and that my enemies did not deserve my forgiveness. I was always a Christian, but this part of the Bible seemed so wrongheaded and unfair. Why is this asked of me when I had been wronged? But I listened with an open heart and everything changed. By forgiving others, I changed my own life and the pain and anger I once carried deep inside is now gone and I am free to enjoy all the peace and goodness that I fully deserve. Joyce is so correct, “Do YOURSELF a favor and forgive” because when you do this, you heal yourself and your joy and overall well-being in life increases exponentially. It’s profoundly amazing!

Great message!

Joyce delivers a great message as always! I was not a fan of the narrator after a while. I wish Joyce was able to narrate her own books!

A Must Read Book

Listen to it all the way to end. Such an important subject. 20 years in Christ and still working on this subject. Easily the most important subject of the whole gospel. The last chapter is mind blowing. Well Done, Joyce.
