Starfall: a world on the edge, where crooks and smugglers hide in the gloomy shadows and modern technology refuses to work. And that includes the TARDIS. The pioneers who used to be drawn by the hope of making a fortune from the mines can find easier picking elsewhere. But they still come... for the romance of it, or old-fashioned organic mining. Great listen for fans of the Doctor and Donna
Any additional comments?
This is audio drama with different actors voicing each character. There is no narration. If you haven't listened to any Big Finish stories before, or you are new to audio dramatization, it may be a bit difficult to follow. But trust me, it's worth it in the end. Hearing Tennant and Tate act together again was a treat. They have such a great dynamic.
There are three separate adventures here. The first is Technophobia. The Doctor and Donna are on Earth a few years into Donna's future when technology starts going haywire. The story has a very simplistic plot (psychic alien invasion 101), and I'm still not sure I understand the resolution. On the other hand, there's sparkling dialogue and the Doctor is in top form. There are bits of amusing satire of our tech-obsessed society sprinkled throughout.
Second, we have Time Reaver, my favourite of the three. The TARDIS team are traveling through the Vortex when the TARDIS malfunctions. They land on an intergalactic travel hub called Calibris in order to get some new fluid links. They find out the planet has become a police state because someone is distributing illegal weapons (outlawed throughout the known universe!) The premise is great, the plot is involved, and the characters are well-realized. The Doctor and Donna are especially true to their original characterization in this story. Marvelous humour as well. I hope you like heart-wrenching endings.
The last story is called Death and the Queen. After landing in the late 1700s, Donna meets a prince from a land that neither she nor the Doctor have ever heard of. Goritainia has supposedly had 500 years of peace, and the Doctor becomes suspicious. Donna, however, is enthralled and agrees to marry the prince. I'm not a fan. For one, Donna's characterization is irritating. She ignores the Doctor through 3/4 of the adventure simply because she sees him as a "gooseberry". Meanwhile, the Doctor wastes a lot of time whining about his companions leaving him. The plot and premise are extremely thin, and the villain sort of hand-wavy.
I expect many people will be rating this 5 stars by virtue of it being the first we've heard from Tennant and Tate in the TARDIS since 2008. I gave it 4 stars, overall. The stories are mostly good, but not good enough to warrant top marks, in my opinion.
One last thing. If you're going for any of the new Tenth Doctor and Donna audios from Big Finish, make sure you get this one! It's the best value, as it has all three stories in one package.

The Doctor and Donna Fly Again!
I can't tell you what a joy it is to hear David Tennant and Catherine Tate come back to Doctor Who after all these years, and how relieved I am that the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble are still as fantastic as they ever were! The entire cast of all three stories does a great job bringing their worlds to life, but it wouldn't work if Tennant and Tate were just phoning it in, which is absolutely not the case here. I would put their work in these stories up there with some of their best acting on the show, especially given they're only using their voices here, but that doesn't hamper their performances one bit. If I were to nitpick performances, some of the alien voices were at times a bit over-modulated and hard to understand for me personally, but I would say it still worked 9 times out of 10. Overall, very impressive work from the cast.
As for the three stories contained in this collection, if you've watched the previous adventures of the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble, the tone and style of the tales featured here is comfortably similar. These tales are big on emotion and a bit wibbly-wobbly on the actual science, but if you're a big fan of the Russell T Davies era of the Doctor Who revival (and I am, for the most part), then you'll find a lot to enjoy here. There's at least one solid moment to be found in each tale here, and each one has their own unique setting that really helps each tale pop; you'll be surprised how easy it is to get transported into each strange new setting. While no single story blew me away, this collection of three well-told adventures left me very satisfied and eager to check out more Big Finish stories in the future.
Long story short, if you're a fan of Doctor Who -- and especially if you love the Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble flying around and sorting out the universe -- you will not be disappointed with this collection. Top-notch work all around!

They left the best story last, ‘Death + the Queen'
Good to listen to David Tennant and Catherine Tate reprise their roles for some new 10th Doctor Who adventures. We’ve got three stories here - they get progressively better.
Seems everyone was finding their feet in the first episode, second story was okay, but ‘Death and the Queen’ by James Goss was tremendous fun. This was a great story/production, if only all three were to this standard it would’ve been 5*

Well, it's an audio drama, so it's more similar to television than a book reading. It has a great drive to the production and David Tennant and Catherine Tate really bring a lot of energy to the production.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It wasn't the most profound production, but it was a great knock around adventure with plenty of light comedy in it.

Big Finish, spot on.
They have done a wonderful job of adapting the best of Tennant's run as the doctor for audio without losing what makes there classic who stories brilliant.

Allons-y 😁
Great audio adventures starring the 10th Doctor and fellow companion Donna Noble. I particularly enjoyed the zany humour and action that was promient throughout each episode. Will listen to it again and again in the future to come.

Vividly captures the fun and energy of the 10th Doctor's time in the TARDIS. it's like he never went away.

It's like they never left!
The 10th Doctor Adventures are a great 3 hours, David Tennant and Catherine Tate slip right back into character- it's like they never left! The stories sound just like the rest of series 4, they have the same upbeat feel and wittiness as before. I especially like Time Reaver, the idea behind it is quite fascinating and the villain is great. In my opinion, the final story, Death and the Queen, got slightly confusing towards the end, but the voice acting was still as stellar as the two before.

Not just an audio book
How great to hear the stories not just read out by one person but as an audio om at! Donna is Donna, The Doctor is himself and everybody else is someone else. I'm hurrying to find the next one of this sort!

Disappointing stories, but lovely to hear the characters again!
I have always selected my books carefully on Audible and only returned one book that disappointed within the first 30 minutes. I persevered with these stories as I love Dr Who and really enjoyed Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) and the Dr (Dave Tennant) as a team. It was wonderful to hear their lovely voices again and the quirkiness they brought to the roles.
However, the storylines were weak (almost as bad as the current crop that just finished on New Year’s day January 2019 ever since Steven Moffat stopped writing for the show). The sound effects overpowered the speech at times and the stories were all very disappointing.
I was lucky to get this for free (after an Audible refund and a very kind assistant) but unless it is going very cheaply, it is not worth purchasing. It left me feeling cheated of a great story that had been fitted into a small amount of listening time dressed up with sound effects.
For the first time in hours of listening to brilliant books on Audible I would say don’t bother and you won’t have missed anything. There are much better stories out there to listen to.

Just like an episode of the television show
As a fan huge fan of Doctor Who (especially Ten), I can't believe that it has taken me so long to venture into these audio dramas. I was astounded by the production quality; it felt like having one of the television episodes in my ears. It was incredible.
This volume is number one out of two and features three stories, "Technophobia," The Time Reaver," and "Death and the Queen." Personally, "The Time Reaver" by Jenny Colgan was my favourite out of the tales; the plot was just brilliantly thrilling. However, the other two weren't bad.
Additionally, since the Big Finish used David Tennant and Catherine Tate, my longing to relieve the Doctor/Donna days was satisfied; they were always one of my favourite pairs.
Overall, I had a great time listening to The Tenth Doctor Adventures; I can't wait to check out more of Big Finish's audio selection. I would absolutely recommend this audio masterpiece to my fellow Whovians.
Edit: I feel that I should note that I originally bought this audiobook just so David Tennant could read to me at night, lol

The best companion returns
Donna Noble is the best companion in modern who. Hands down, no competition because of course she is. the first episode is a little cheesy, but tmit hits stride and the second brings it all home in one of Donna Noble's best weddings!

Like 3 extra Doctor/Donna TV episodes!
It's "Theatre of the Mind" as they say, but very well done! No wonder Big Finish became so huge and popular!
My next destination is the crossover aimed at fans who were kids of the 70s/80s and came back in 2005! "Out of Time" has Tennant and Tom Baker for a 10th and 4th Doctors crossover story!
