Publisher's Summary

I guess you could say I was a damsel in distress, and he was my knight in shining armor. But more accurately, I was a girl with a lot of bad luck, and he was a guy with a lot of muscles and tattoos.

Jude "Lucky" Lucketti wasn't just a sexy, brooding construction worker. He was my own personal hero, showing up in all the right places at the right times. Like when my car broke down and I needed a ride home, and when I face-planted on the sidewalk right in front of him and had to be taken to the emergency room.

We became friends, and it didn't matter that he was 16 years older than me. We had a lot in common - like our love of old rock music and vintage fast cars and our aversion to relationships.

When he approached me with a crazy idea to help me out with my many problems, I couldn't say no.

The arrangement was supposed to be temporary. A marriage on paper and nothing else. It should've been easy, but it wasn't. Because here I am, 18 years old, still in high school, and married to a man I was never supposed to fall in love with.

We had just one rule - no kissing the bride. But we broke that rule, and it sealed our fate forever.

Contains mature themes.

⭐️ OH CARIAN, I “ONE MORE” CHAPTERED IT TIL DAWN ⭐️

To simply say this is an age-gap forbidden.. or an arranged marriage of convenience.. or even a friends-to-lovers romance would be selling it short. Because this gem of a slow-build has depth and layers.. emotional conflicts, fears and struggles.. angst and danger.. a social jury and judgements.. and so much more. Plus stellar narration by Desiree Ketchum and Aiden Snow.
.
Skylar is eighteen, she’s a free-spirited, feisty heroine in High School with baggage and an eating disorder and Jude is 34, he’s tattooed, sexy, long haired, gorgeous and a construction owner.. strangers who are absolutely adamant they don’t do, or want, a relationship, commitment or love. But, when Jude steps in to help Skylar, they both feel the respect, trust, chemistry and toxic temptation when the ‘fake’ becomes real. It was a marriage innocently arranged to get Skylar’s medical bills paid and to get her away from a negative home life which has left her with a psychological eating disorder. There’s a push and a pull as Jude wrestles with the rights and wrongs of his growing attraction to Skylar.. and there’s torn decisions because he sees Skylar’s attraction to him. Which leads to a guilt-ridden rollercoaster of head vs heart.. desires vs denial.. rights vs wrongs.. crossing lines and mixed-messages.. and so so much more. However, they should’ve known.. you can’t choose love.. love chooses you.

Worth a credit? Oh yes I couldn’t stop listening, it’s a bitter-sweet, well-written and well-thought-out delicious slow-climb with angst, conflict, passion, romance, sex and a beautiful happy ever after between two lost souls destined to be together despite boundaries. Skylar had been looking after herself for years, she was sensible, sexually experienced and seemed all grown so I didn’t get that ’icky’ vibe to their relationship at all. Dual POV expertly brought to life.. and Aiden Snow ladies ♥️😘🤭🤫 whose sexy voice makes Jude a very very drool-worthy character indeed.

Whiplash

This was all in all a beautiful love story. This couple had to battle a myriad of things from traumatic histories to commitments issues to mental health problems to overcoming a major age gap situation. Although the heroine was of age, I can see where this story could be a turn off or trigger for some as she was just 18 (hero in his thirties). Great storyline for me but some major whiplash with the main characters’ indecision. Still credit worthy imo. Excellent narration!

This is my favorite age gap book

So when carian makes a man bad she does it on a personal level. And when she makes them good you have a honest case of man envy. Siiigh if such men only existed, anyhow this is a great book, loved it down to the marrow of my bones.

I wish I could give 6 Stars

This book had everything I was looking for. It was long and I was able to emotionally connect to the characters. The heroine wasn't annoying and the narrator was amazing.

This is a great book.

Love!!!

Wow 😶 So. Good! Such a beautifully written age gap (16 years difference) hot romance. ❤ I love the exploration of right and wrong, stigmas and what's socially acceptable in these taboo pairings.

Excellent story. My first with the age gap

Good story. Best one I’ve heard in a long time. Emotional roller coaster. Little bit frustrating that they kept fighting over the same thing- like a merry go round. Narrators were perfect.

Overall great!

The story was great! I love how it had drama with both of their families. Plus told their own stories. I definitely recommend.

Decent story

easy listening, bit of unnecessary angst, i also feel uncomfortable with the age gap at 18,if she had been in her 20s possibly wouldn't have been,

Enjoyable listen

This was a great book, and probably would have been a 5 star listen if I felt more emotionally connected by the end. Think the drama disconnected me more than it lured me in, unfortunately. Still more than worth a listen, though.

She's 18yo and needs to get out of her dark, neglectful home (her mother is super neglectful and is a hoarder so she lives miserably under seriously gross conditions and is suffering through disordered eating) - she's studying and working, all she wants to do is move out of her mothers house, graduate and have a good simple happy life.

Her paths cross with a 30-something year old mechanic who helps her out with her car once and they become 'friends'.

She needs a good place to live, and after a pretty bad bout of ED she needs medical help/ health insurance so he proposes so that she can move out of her mothers house and so she can share in his health insurance "until she can graduate".

Story - overall the story is cute and cosy despite how hard it is for the main character at the begining.

Audio - dual narration - hottie narrator 👀

AMAZING!

I loved this amazing age-gap romance! I always love reading books by Carian Cole and this is no exception. I loved how the romance between Jude and Skylar developed and grew, even with the ordinary 'courting' order out of whack. This does have a guaranteed HEA however, that doesn't mean that there are many bumps along the way, especially those created from the outsider perspective and the worry of what other people would think. I would definitely recommend this book and I know I haven't written a huge review but this book is pretty simple to figure out whether you want to read it or not. If you love books by Carian Cole, this is for you. If you love a good age-gap romance with traumatic pasts, this is for you. Or even if you read this blurb and think you might like it, I would say try it and figure it out for yourself. I would also highly recommend listening to this book as an audiobook, the narration of both characters was seriously amazing. I always love listening to Aiden Snow and was pleasantly surprised with Desiree Ketchum and how her voice fit the character so well. I hope you love it just as much as I do. Enjoy!

please kiss the bride

Jude and Skylar's story is so touching. This one will get you thinking about all that's wrong yet right. He is way older for her and therefore battles with society judgement but he is the best thing that happens to her. Jude is a better family to skylar more than her real family. this unconditional love is what everyone needs

Ahmazing

Seriously cannot put into words how awesome this book was…the up and down emotional ride was amazing and I felt everything as the characters did…so well written and an amazing storyline, I didn’t feel like the story was rushed at all and it had a natural progression that made 110% sense.

Fantastic

Another beautiful book from Carian Cole. She weaves words together, building characters and storylines in a way that you can really see the scenes play out in your mind. The narrators do a great job as well. I would have loved to hear the epilogue include what happened to the mother but overall an excellent book.

Ahhhhh❤️

I loved Jude & Skyler’s story ❤️❤️. Age gap is one of my favourite troupes and this one was a beauty.

Carian Cole did it again, I’m always guaranteed a fantastic listen with one of her books.

As a bonus I loved seeing the other side of Asher & Judes conversation, it’s made me want to go back and revisit the entire series.
