Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

For decades the Moore Asylum was home to the forgotten children of Brooklyn Bay. But ever since a scandal forced its closure, the abandoned building has cast an imposing shadow. Until now - when an elderly man is found dead, his body strapped to an ancient gurney. Publisher's Summary
You don't know him. But he knows you.
Soon he would be able to touch her, to feel the warmth of her blood. And when the time came, nothing would stop him.
As DC Jennifer Knight investigates a routine stabbing in the quiet town of Haven, she is shocked by what seems like a personal message from beyond the grave.
When more bodies are found, Jennifer is convinced the killings are somehow linked. What she discovers is more chilling than she could possibly imagine. The murders mirror those of the notorious Grim Reaper - from over 20 years ago. A killer her mother helped convict.
Jennifer can no longer ignore the personal connection. Is there a copycat killer at work? Was the wrong man convicted? Or is there something more sinister at play?
With her mother's terrifying legacy spiraling out of control, Jennifer must look into her own dark past in a fight not only to stop a killer - but to save herself and those she loves.
A heart-stopping supernatural thriller to engross fans of Rachel Abbott, Paul Finch, and James Oswald.

Fantastic New Dectective Series
I love a whodunit. This book had me guessing every step of the way and the ending was something I didn't see coming. I am hoping that Audible will include the 2nd book in this series (for some reason only the first and third volumes are on Audible).
I'm addicted and hope to listen to more of this author's wonderful story telling.

If you could sum up Don't Turn Around in three words, what would they be?
Good character development
Who was your favorite character and why?
Will. He was steady and he tried
Have you listened to any of Emma Newman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I have no idea
Any additional comments?
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. The characters are relatable. The author makes you care about them.

Chilling and thrilling.
A fast paced and often terrifying tale. Unlike any crime thrillers you would have read before. The past meets the present in a cleverly woven story which lingers in your memory long after the final chapter.
Looking for something thrilling with a paranormal twist? Look no further. The X Files meets Prime Suspect. Truly looking forward to the next instalment by Caroline Mitchell, she certainly knows how to grab the readers attention.

Terrible narration
This could have been a good listen but the narration was robotic and with little intonation required for depth and characterisation. What a disappointment for the author and I wonder if she had any hand in the chosing of her narrator? Satisfyingly creepy but after sticking with it for a good few hours, I just couldn't continue so skipped through to the end - and had missed far too much to understand just what had happened. Would be happy to try another novel by Ms Mitchell but not if it is read by this narrator.

Satisfyingly Creepy
Definitely gave me the heebie-jeebies in places, which is what I look for in a paranormal crime book. The story was good, all be it a touch cliched and predictable occasionally. The involvement of a wee gee board and tarot cards was disappointing. The narration was okay, I ended up listening to it in double time however because it was too slow for my taste. The Irish accent was entertainingly awful! Overall it was a good start to a series with potential, I will read the next instalment.

A bit different
On reflection, the second time listening through and realising this is a bit different so suspending some disbelief, this book is quite good. I commend the writer for putting this story together so well, don't think it could have been easy or done any better to leave a reveal until the end. A strange murder mystery / detective series with a twist I'm keen to see how the next book shapes up.
