Publisher's Summary

Davis Way Cole smells T-R-O-U-B-L-E when she's fired from half of her part-time job at the Bellissimo Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. The quarter-time job she's left with is lulling her to sleep, exactly what she's doing when Birdy James, centenarian director of the casino's Lost and Found department, disappears. With five million dollars.

Davis just can't help believing Birdy didn't do it, if for no other reason, she's too old to spend it. If Davis doesn't find the little old lady and the money fast, she'll lose what's left of her job, at which point, there goes her Bellissimo everything.

What she needs is a good luck charm. What she gets is her home invaded by hardheaded women, a softhearted little man, and major carpet troubles, the combination of which sends Davis' already suspicious mind into overdrive and landing her between a jailhouse rock and a very hard place.

A little less conversation and a lot more action are called for if Davis has any chance of saving herself, her family, her marriage, her job, and the heartbreak hotel she calls home. Thank you. Thank you very much.

I do love Davis Way stories

All the Davis Way stories are very good, funny, great stories to listen to. The problem I had with Double Trouble is the level of stupidity each character had. Seriously, why all the stupid voices, lack of understanding, and just plain dumbness of each character's level of responding to simple questions? It became so annoying, and it wasn't until chapter 6 that an actual storyline started. Please do better and not annoy your readers so much in future books.

Double Trouble

This book is so bad I cannot finish it. I love comedy, but if the author was trying to be funny she failed miserably. Also, who ever the narrator is did a horrible job. I don't know how this book got published.

too much confusion

too much chaotic introspection by Davis. almost all of her previous books seemed better thought out and presented. some had irritating features like the hashtags and the talking house, not so great on audible, but those stories were still well written. hope future books are better.

A bit less chaos would have been better

The chaos was a bit over the top for me. Made it difficult to stay tuned in to the overall story. I'm a big fan, read every book, but slightly disappointed with this one.
