Bad recording.

This recording of the book has bad sound to it for some reason. Understandable, but it sounds like an old AM radio station.

Dragondrums

It has been years since i read this book... as is i remember a part where they built message drums for the southern hold that has been omitted from this audio version, or my device skipped it. I had some issues with sound cutting out in places

Great Book Mediocre Audobook

I've loved these books since I was a kid (30 years ago) and have read them all at least 20 times over the years but the audio versions of all the Pern books are probably the most lackluster things I've ever heard... If I only heard the audio version I would never pick up the actual books and would have missed out on some of the most enjoyable reading of my life. Perhaps if the readings were complete or the narrator read with some enthusiasm they would have been better accepted but as it stands I wouldn't recommend them as some of your better material.

Great book!

I don't normally like abridgements, but this was really well done. This story follows Piemur, a young apprentice of the Harper hall. I love the way Anne McCaffrey interweaves her stories. They are very good even if you have never read her books before, but as you read her books, you get pulled into the lives of the characters and when you find a character you had read about earlier in a new book, it is like meeting an old friend.

Bad audiobook

Anne McCaffrey is great, but this audio file is corrupt and sounds like a crappy voicemail.

Worse recording ever

I’ve read this book before and it’s amazing. I couldn’t make it 5 min into this recording. I could have done better in the back of a truck on the freeway.

What the Hell!

Being a fan of Anne McCaffrey for over 30 years,. I know the story well. This recording is an embarrassment. The audio quality so poor that it sounds like it's a fifth generation copy of a recording pirated from a transitor radio! To abridge such a well written story is an abomination. I want my money back!!!

Poor audio quality

A good book, with satisfactory performance. Poor audio quality, though. Muffled and scratchy - disappointing.

What a disappointment.

The narrator does not seem to understand the concept of pace or drama. She is better when obliged to voice the character's direct speech. Also, or sounds as if it was read and recorded in the seventies! I love these books, so disappointing. The quality of sound recording is terrible. I want my money back...
