this abridged version is read too fast and cuts out too much too keep up, I also found the readers voice to be annoying. The unabridged versions are waay better and totally worth it.

Does follow the book!
I was listening to the audio, it wasn’t making sense. So I downloaded the book from the library… And the sentences she is saying do not match the print. It’s like sentences have been skipped over. At least now I know why I am not understanding the story. What a waste of a purchase! How do I get my money back?

fast and abridged
The narrator spoke faster than was comfortable, she sounded rushed the entire time, like she had too much coffee or something. I read this book a long time ago, but even though it's been a while, the were sections and dialogue cut out, which really rubbed me the wrong way.

Good, but incomplete
I love the book Series, and I enjoyed this audiobook version though it was a bit fast paced. , But be warned that a lot of bits and pieces got left out. If I hadn’t read the book before listening to this audiobook, I probably would’ve just thought well that’s a bit fast paced and over a bit quick but I read the book and I realize there were skips and time jumps that weren’t time jumps in the book, so just a warning to any future readers/listeners.

Should have realized its abridged!!!
This is a book that I have loved since I was 12. Its like comfort food for me. In fact I have replaced it on my bookshelf I can't tell you how many times, as the paperback binding is always so terrible that it falls apart in my hands as I read or I give it away to someone who hopefully loves it as much as I do. So I hesitated to buy it here, since I already own it in hardback, and chose this edition for no other reason than because it is read by a woman. And the story is told mostly from a female point of view. Its entirety my fault that I didn't look far enough to realize it is SUCH a shortened version. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it would be a good introduction to Anne McCaffrey for preteen readers. And if that's your goal start with Dragonsong instead!
The narrator is terrible! She reads as if she hates the story and can't wait get it over with. The excessiivly fast paced reading got so bad I had to go into my settings and slow it down. The majority of the story is, simply, thrown away. I wasted a credit on this version! Go for the unabridged one with the male narrator. At least then the you get the whole story.

Great Story
This is one of my all-time favorite series. My main criticism is that I had to slow the narration down to .8 in order to enjoy it, otherwise it sounded as if Alvin of the Chipmunks was narrating - not a pleasant experience.
