Publisher's Summary

One dragon. One wolf. And they're both alphas. Surely Fate must’ve messed up.

After spending the last 200 years locked up in the family castle with his three younger brothers, Erwan is climbing the walls. Literally. He’s a dragon who isn’t allowed to fly, forbidden to use his magic, all to stay hidden from the rest of the world. How will he ever find his mate like this?

But when he finds an injured omega in the woods around the castle and brings him home, the spell that kept them hidden is broken. Erwan’s father is furious—not that that’s anything new. The man has basically been angry all Erwan’s life, though why, he doesn’t know.

When wolf pack alpha Rhene comes a-knocking to demand the omega back, Erwan is shocked by what Fate whispers in his ear. Then again, the same is true for Rhene. Neither one of them imagined their mate quite like this.

Two alphas? A dragon and a wolf? How on earth could that possibly work?

But they have bigger problems. It turns out Erwan’s father is hiding more than a surly attitude. Much more. Like an old connection with the wolves and a betrayal that runs so deep, it could tear Erwan and Rhene apart.

Dragon’s Mate is the first book in the Irresistible Dragons series. This is a spin-off from the Irresistible Omegas series, but you don’t need to have listened to that to enjoy these two as they find their way into love. The love story ends with an HEA, but the suspense plot will continue in the next book.

Sweet, Naive Dragon

Diving back into this world was so easy! I loved seeing how the packs have prospered. And, meeting the dragons was interesting.
I fell in love with Erwan right away. He was so adorable. Such a sweet, innocent alpha. Rhene has become such a capable pack leader. Watching him show such care for the well-being of his pack was touching.
The plot in this new series is as gripping as the first. I can't wait to see how this all unfolds.

The Dragon's have Arrived!

Hidden Castle suddenly appears? Sign Me Up!!! I absolutely love how this new series is so seamlessly woven into the end of the Irresistible Omegas series! Rhene is the Alpha of the new wolf pack formed from Lidon's ever growing pack! He gets magical passage into the hidden dragon castle to find his lost omega and that is where he meets Erwan our sweet, innocent Alpha Dragon. A blushing virgin Alpha! Too adorable how he only knew of the old fashion ways since he had been locked away in the castle for so long! His strength and determination once he meets Rhene is stunning to watch unfold. The chemistry between these two alphas was perfection! The awareness of rightness they both instantly feel is just as strong as the physical chemistry. They are somehow scorching hot and adorably sweet all rolled together. John our narrator totally brought these two and all of our surrounding pack members to life and I am very invested in everyone! Looking forward to this series!

Bring it on!

If you’ve listened to/read the Irresistible Omegas series, this is the perfect place for the spin-off to begin. If you’re brand new to this world, you can easily begin here but I would also highly recommend going back and starting at the beginning because you’d be able to understand the history between all the characters, the civil war and the dynamics of the two packs that much better. I love Nora Phoenix spinning off and introducing us to dragons and taking the history of the two species all the way back to the time of the Vikings. There is a lot revealed to us in the way of information but also introduced to us in the way of mystery, secrets, lies and betrayal. I am very much looking forward to diving deeper into this world and discovering the secrets of the dragons while more pack members find their fated mates! John Solo does an excellent job here. He is a great choice to bring this series to life. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this audiobook.

where to start? This one was a no!

I really couldn't get into this one and the narrator killed it unfortunately which with John Solo that is a hit and miss. I lasted about 20 minutes and was done! I have listened to many books on here. About 254 in the last 8 months. I have learned that the narrator will sell or kill a book most of the time even if the book wasn't that good. Not a good choice for this one. Character change was fine but too drawn out and slow. Like I said not for me. I also couldn't get into the story it was boring and just didn't keep my interest. All the great reviews I really wanted to enjoy this book.

And then there were dragons!

Where to start?

This book is the first installment of a spin-off series from Irresistible Omegas. While I HIGHLY recommend reading or listening to Irresistible Omegas in its entirety, Dragon’s Mate has been written to quite cleverly weave in all the backstory necessary to make this story work, so you can, if you like, begin your journey here.

While a bit less spicy than much of Omegas, what is on page is perfect to these characters and alludes to more for us in the future.

So much we (and the characters) don’t know about their world, the history of wolves and dragons, and what lies ahead for them. I can’t wait to dive into the next book and see where Nora takes us!

Here be dragons!

A 200-year-old closeted dragon shifter virgin? Yes, please!

This series is a spin-off to the authors' Irresistible Omegas series, which I have not read. It says in the blurb, that it works as a stand-alone, and while that is true, I think reading the first series would have probably helped the reader with a deeper feel for the world-building and the characters in the wolf pack. However, it worked okay, even if I initially felt a bit lost.

I'm not going to recount the plot here, but if two alphas of different species trying to forge a relationship amidst political turmoil and hidden shame and secrets of the past seem interesting to you, this would be a story for you.

Erwan and Rhen are cute together and I thoroughly enjoyed them both as characters, the world was fun and I'm intrigued to know WHY Erwan's father and uncle acted the way they did in the past and set this whole thing in motion.

This book was a gift from the author, in exchange for an honest review and it was interesting enough that I probably have to get the next in the series to know more.

John Solo does a great job narrating as always.

Dragons

Ohh this was amazing. I was excited to listen to this spin off series and was not disappointed. The storyline was amazing full of surprises and suspense. There are surprises around the corner with a betrayal and lies but they get a super great ending leading to the next adventure. John has done a stunning job as always. Can’t wait for more.

Amazing New Series! Brilliant Story & Narration🎧

Nora Phoenix’s “Irresistible Omegas” series was brilliant, and I was sad when it ended, but she lifted my spirits when she announced that there would be a spinoff and we were getting more in this amazing world she created, more amazing characters and storylines and dragons too. The world building continues in this book of the series, the Hayes pack had continued to grow, so they split off into another pack with Rhene Hightower as the pack alpha. When Riordan, one of their omegas, disappears, they go searching for him and what they stumble upon is quite surprising, a castle, and even more surprising how it is protected by magic. They tracked their omega to that location and Rhene gets past the magic thanks to Lidon, the true alpha. Rhene is not sure who or what these people are but they are not ordinary humans, at least one is friendly and helpful to him, Erwan, the one who rescued Riordan and the crown prince. Erwan’s over protective father, the king, has kept his family in isolation and away from the rest of the world for two hundred years. He is losing faith in his father and uncle and is wondering what is going on but rescuing the injured omega brings an alpha to his door and sheds a whole new light on things and it is time he finds out what is really going on, starting with what went on in the past. Fate has plans for these two and despite their differences, Erwan and Rhene hit it off and make a great team and it does not take long for them to realize there is something special between them. There is never a dull moment in this action packed, wonderfully written and cleverly plotted story, besides the romance between the two lead characters, this book lays the foundation for the rest of the series and some ongoing storylines, other characters and key players are introduced as well. I love how thorough Nora Phoenix is with her series and how she includes a character list and everything you need to know, so you never feel lost or like you missed something. This book is not a five star book, it is more like a ten star book. Thank you for another amazing story, I am looking forward to what comes next for these Irresistible Dragons and wolves too.

🎧📚🎧 And for the exceptional narration, John Solo did an amazing job bringing these characters and their story to life. He has a complete understanding of the characters he portrays, gives each a voice that fits the character’s persona, sounding believable in every role he plays. He sets the perfect tone for the story, handles the back-and-forth dialogue naturally and with ease. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance and has you feeling every single one. John Solo is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist, his narration enhances this outstanding story another level. Thank you for another brilliant listen.

It was so GOOD!

It was my first book from this author and I hadn't read Irresistible Omegas before, so I went totally blind. And what an amazing surprise! The story had everything I love: shifters, fated mates, endearing characters, great romance and even greater sex scenes. Also a kind of ennemies-to-lovers trope!

It's a spin-off series but I wasn't lost or anything. I totally enjoyed it without having read the main series and I loved that about the book. Another thing I loved is that the characters really took the time to TALK and COMMUNICATE with each other. The main characters weren't afraid to pause the steamy moment and talk about an issue. And how refreshing because I feel like in romance in general -or at least in the romance books I've been reading, there can be a lot of miscommunication as a trope and although it can be cute and all, too much of it and it gets on my nerves. This book is the proof that couple communication as a trope can be as sexy and good as couple miscommunication.
This book also was a character-driven story and I was here for it!

In short, it was such a good book that I'm so mad at myself now for not be able to read menage and MMM+ books. All I wanted to do was reading the Irresistible Omegas but since the series is mainly about polyamorous couples - which is unfortunately not my thing- I couldn't! And the next book in the Irresistible Dragons series is also a MMM book! I hate myself so much right now 😭

So if the author ever write another gay paranormal romance series focusing on relationships between two people, I'll gobble it up!

a good start.

so, I loved this one. I've read the irresistible omegas books before reading this and I think you'll get more out of it if you have read them. it might get a bit overwhelming otherwise.
and what's not to like about dragons? I can't wait for the next book now because even though they to end up happy and together at the end, the story definitely isn't.

New blood to revive the series!

I confess that I was getting a little bored near the end of Irrisistible Omegas series but the introduction of the Dragons has totally sparked new excitement. It's the best of both worlds - a whole new set of characters, backstories, cultural norms and history with all my favourite old characters and a massive plot twist. I can't wait for Book 2 now!

Exceptional

So I'm guilty of not liking dragons and royalty and ancient history when books starts quoting AD time. This book converted me and that says alot. it was sweet and sexy and fun, with great plot.

I'm also guilty of being a Nora Phoenix virgin and even though names are dropped I didn't feel lost at all. It only gave me more books to look for. Did someone say foursome. Off to Amazon.

John outdid himself. I have only ever heard him do contemporary and he always gives his all with emotion and character distinction but this massive and eclectic cast was a whole other level. The many voices and accents and switching back and forth for all the characters. Well done sir.

Dragons, Wolves, Nora, and John! Amazing!

Absolutely spectacular story, character development, returning favorites, and new ones to love - and hate! Amazingly well done, I missed the Irresistible Omegas gang, & who doesn't love DRAGONS? I know I do! Nora and John Solo teamed up to bring us this swoony, emotional fated mates love story full of unique challenges, new villains, accents, unusual names (to this American, at least) and a hard-won HEA/HFN with the promise of many more to come!
John Solo did a fabulous job with the different pronuciations, accents, names - as always, he excels at the emotion & distinct character voicings, pacing, and phenomenal story-telling. Wonderful job all around!

Intriguing start, but also the story continues!

Nora Phoenix
I don’t even know what to say. I love this environment, including the previous pack and it’s members. The people, emotions, love, respect, conflicts (…) and how they deal with it all.

The story also built up an interesting, intriguing conflict between species that, I guess, will continue through the series. It feels like there’s much more to discover!

John Solo
The ability of voicing emotions is his main skill, in my opinion. But he is also meticulous with how he distinguish different voices. All characters from previous books is clearly recognizable. I’m amazed!

Looking forward to the next book!

Fascinating story with our favourite wolf/humans the Hightower clan that meet a Dragon who becomes a Mate with Reene, Palani Alpha brother. Great first story extending the Series. Thanks Nora, also good Narration by John Solo.
