Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

WoF Superfan
I LOVE Wings of Fire! I remember when I first discovered it. I was scrolling through Epic! (A book app for kids) when I came across a Wings of Fire book. It just so happened to be the Darkstalker one. I tapped on it. It was about halfway through the book when I realized this was not the first book. This was the side series. I found The Dragonet Prophecy and was instantly hooked. And, after reading all the books three times, I’d have to say, the first book is my least favorite. I have actually been putting signs up everywhere saying ‘PLEASE READ WINGS OF FIRE’! I got two of my friends into it and (crazy surpriseingly) I found someone by the same name as mine, and when I asked her if she liked books she said: “I love books! I’ve been thinking about writing Wings Of Fire book 14 since it hasn’t come out yet!”
I remember just sitting there staring at her with my mouth open. Then a few flies buzzed to close to my face and I closed it.
I am an actual Superfan. I’m writing fan fiction, I’ve hand made a bookmark, I own all the books, I’ve made about twenty posters and drawings of characters from the books, and I’m making my own comic book. So, if you can’t tell, I love Wings of Fire!

pretty confusing
I had a hard time keeping up with this book, the constant shifting PoVs made things confusing, as a typical Wings of Fire book tends to stick to one main PoV with one character. Good concept, poor execution.

Pretty Good
This book really great, but there are two things that are annoying/confusing- Why are the kids played in annoying voices. And the plot of this story doesn’t fit with the dragon part, I understand that dragon years might be longer than human years though.

Thoroughly enjoyable for new and old fans alike.
A lovely book filled with action, funny moments suspence, and thrill. "Dragonslayer" was a long awaited book in the Wings of Fire Series, and it was sure worth the wait. A brand new perspective with fresh characters on the continent of Pyrrhia.
The writing was excellent; no plot holes I could make out, and the performance of the voice actor was magnificent.
Each character in "Dragonslayer," human or dragon, was easy to fall in love with - or hate with a burning passion. Take General Sandstorm for example. You can feel the self-importance and snootieness coming off that SandWing in waves. And Sky - Peril's lost brother (although this is never mentioned in the book, I'm almost sure this was confirmed by Sutherland,) is such a wholesome little bean who loves snails, and you'd kill all of the Kingdom of Sand to protect him.
Everything in this book was perfect - I'm dying to see the conclusion of Leaf, Wren, Sky and the other's adventures.
And not to mention that astounding cover art!
Tui, you have done a WONDERFUL job with this book. Very excited to see your next one, although don't rush a masterpiece!

Summary is deceiving
Over all, it's a good book. But, unlike what the summary would make you believe, the book is not set before the war. It actually takes place while the war is still going on. Really, all you get is the epilogue, which is only about when the three scavengers fight queen oasis, and who really killed the dragon. I hope I'm not coming off too harsh, but the summary doesn't give you a good idea on what to expect from the book.

Amazing of course!
I absolutely loved this book! It's brilliantly written with no plot holes and the best characters ever!
I just want to pick sky up and take him home. Rose and Stone were such a great example of how people change people and I loved everyone's names, I mean Bluebell? So cute!
My favourite parts were where Wren and Undaunted interact, but half the time I'm waiting for her to slip up about Sky and be like "sorry gotta fly, my dragon's probably worried about me".
I loved how Sutherland placed the story that it fit in with the dragons' stories. Like how clay saved Leaf in the Sky Palace and Ivy saw Sunny in her vision, areccommend, splendid.
Hundred percent reccommend!🔥❤️🧡
