Publisher's Summary

When Link joined his best friend, Ethan Wate, on a quest through a mysterious network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, he knew the journey would be dangerous. But returning home to Gatlin, South Carolina, was just the beginning....

Wounded during a climactic battle, Link discovers that tending his injuries won't be as simple as visiting a doctor, and that healing his arm should be the least of his worries. For being bitten by a Supernatural does more than break the skin - it changes a person, inside and out, turning Link into someone more and more like the dark creature who injured him.

In this never-before-seen short story by New York Times best-selling authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, listeners witness Link's heart-racing transformation. Dream Dark is set before the much-anticipated third Beautiful Creatures novel, Beautiful Chaos, and as a special bonus includes an exclusive sneak peek at the first five chapters.

Awesome story, but way to short

What did you like best about Dream Dark: A Beautiful Creatures Story? What did you like least?

The story is awesome. The story occurs between "Beautiful Darkness" and "Beautiful Chaos". A true Casters fan will definitely want to hear it, but don't spend a whole credit on it. Pay the $3.29 instead. Although it says it is 3:23:40 long, the actual story is only 1:15:30 The rest of the time is the first three chapters of "Beautiful Chaos".

Do not buy! Skip to next book!

Any additional comments?

This book is actually the first chapters of the next book! You can skip this book and you still get this story!

Don't waste your credit or money on this one

Don't waste your time on this one. It's just 1 hour about the first few days if Linc's transformation into a Inkubus, then it's the first 5 chapters of book 3. I recommend skipping this one and go straight to the 3rd book.

ok

If you like Link then read but I easily could have moved on in the series without reading.

Interesting, but not worth the money

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

It was fun to hear Link's side of the story. But the story was really short. The majority of the audio is a preview (5 chapters) of Beautiful Chaos. So now I don't want to waste a credit on the next book since I already heard half of it.

Mediocre in comparison to rest of series

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Absolutely!

What did you like best about this story?

That it picked up where the other novels in the series left off or rather fell in nicely with the rest of the series.

Did Dream Dark: A Beautiful Creatures Story inspire you to do anything?

Love Deeper. REMINDER: Intelligence = sex appeal (the real deal)

Any additional comments?

If you enjoy coming of age love stories, anything supernatural, bro-mances, or YA novels, you should definitely give this series a chance!

Way Too Short

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes. It gives a nice little side story to the main story line

If you’ve listened to books by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl before, how does this one compare?

It is good. The only criticism that I have is that the story was way to short. The audio book is mostly the first few chapters of the next book.

What about Kevin T. Collins’s performance did you like?

All I can say is wow. He is great!!! I will probably get a book or two just because he is the reader. His tonality is easy on the hears. His range of voices is incredible.

Do you think Dream Dark: A Beautiful Creatures Story needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. Because it had a specific purpose to tie in characters for the next book.

note that it is a short story, not a novel

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Good series, but I didn't realize it was just a short story.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

n/a

Did Kevin T. Collins do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

accent

Any additional comments?

unnecessary to the series storyline, but a nice extra
