Publisher's Summary

When shy and secluded author Sara Fielding ventures from her country cottage to research a novel, she inadvertently witnesses a crime in progress - and manages to save the life of the most dangerous man in London.

Derek Craven is a powerful and near-legendary gambling club owner who was born a bastard and raised in the streets. His reputation is unsavory, his scruples nonexistent. But Sara senses that beneath Derek's cynical exterior, he is capable of a love more passionate than her deepest fantasies.

Aware that he is the last man that an innocent young woman should ever want, Derek is determined to protect Sara from himself, no matter what it takes. But in a world where secrets lurk behind every shadow, he is the only man who can keep her safe. And as Derek and Sara surrender to an attraction too powerful to deny, a peril surfaces from his dark past to threaten their happiness...and perhaps even their lives.

Together they will discover if love is enough to make dreams come true.

Rosalyn Landor ruins good books

This has been one on my favorite LK books. So I was excited when there was finally a audiobook. The story is ruined by the narrator. I try not to listen to books narrated by Rosalyn Landon. She can’t do male voices at all. She always make them sound like an old stupid man. She especially bad with Scottish and English voices. I highly recommend the book but it’s I say avoid it listening to it but read in it.

I love finding new authors that give you a thrill.

Loved the story. It offered adventure, Love, Wit, Emotion, and the best of all a fantastic end. All I can say is WONDERFU.

Don’t waste your time

Not as enjoyable as the usual Lisa Kleypas book. The hero is unlikable, forceful and immature. The content is very dated and doesn’t read well in the age of the “me too” movement. Overly predictable plot.

Hi,es.

Rosalyn Landor is terrible at male voices.
They all sound like old men. The heroine was annoying and the story went on longer than it had to.

Not my favorite but good

I love Lisa kleypas. She is one of my favorite authors. I chose this one because I’ve read all of her other books… This was my first time listening to Rosalynn Landor. This was okay but a bit predictable. I think my problem was the narrator. She has just a pronounced British accent I felt like everyone should be called names such as Fortuque Smythe or Giles. It was hard for me to get past that. I wish Mary Jane wells could narrate all her books. Overrall I still liked it but not my favorite.

Loved it!!!

Lisa Kleypas and narrator Rosalyn Landor are a perfect team! Stellar writing and narration that makes the story pop. Both books in this series are well worth the listen. I'd give each more than 5 stars.

Why Did I give in?

Sorry, but I can listen to Rosalyn Landor try and narrate voices of virile men any more. They always sound insipid and creepy. Rosalyn is amazing at pace and tone, but other than old farts and small boys should never do strong make lead voices!

I enjoy Lisa Klepas’s stories and characters but have to “skip” when I see the narrator listed.

I love the book!

This beautiful story was multilayered. The way it was written kept you wanting to listen until the end. It wasn’t one of those easy love stories focus only on the main characters falling in love. It was more than that. Great character development all around!
🚨SPOILER ALERT!!!🚨 The only thing I hate is that the antagonist didn’t get what she deserves. Send her away to Scotland in isolation?! Whatt?! 🙄 The dumb ass lunatic should have died! She was a despicable human being. I have never hated a character as such. 😂😂

Excellent series

I have a deep love for all of Lisa Kleypas books and this is definitely favorite of mine. I love the first book in the series a little bit more but that’s because Lily and Alex are so much fun. I love that they play a decent role in this book too.

Derek is a man who has never known love so he’s spent his life playing hard to protect himself. Sara is sweet and independent and sees his soul from the beginning. Their love is true and Lisa does am amazing job of slowly getting Derek to give on to his emotions and experience love for the first time in his life.

Rosalyn Landor is so amazing that you forget you are listening to one narrator and not a bunch of different characters. She’s that good or I should say magnificent!

Wonderful love story

Narrator was great, loved the way these characters are tied with the Wall flowers series.
