Where does Drunk with Blood rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Hard to say. It is a very unique book.

What did you like best about this story?

The true to the fact depiction of what the Bible actually says, rather than the sanitized and ultimately false depiction of the Bible as a work of love.

Which scene was your favorite?

Again hard to say, although Wells's accounts of the stories of Samson, Job and, Jesus are chilling.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Impossible not to. Why anyone would believe what is written in the Bible or would want to have such a god escapes me.

Any additional comments?

I think this book creates a problem for anyone who ascribes to Judaism or Christianity. The only way that most Abrahamic theists can rationalize this litany of brutality and murder is by denial, (self)deception and, dishonesty. This type of book exposes the Bible for what it is, an emperor's clothes document.

What did you love best about Drunk with Blood?

Steve Wells' "Drunk with Blood - God's Killings in the Bible" is a less than positive take on the Bible, not for the feint of heart faithful. When last did you read your Bible with an open mind? The capricious violence is staggering (not to mention the slavery, misogyny debauchery and homophobia) . Whereas the number of people God kills adds into the millions, Satan comes in with a pitiful score, barely breaking into two digits.

Along the way you learn that all the attributable evil spirits in the Bible are released by God, none bySatan. Really? They didn't teach me that at Sunday School.

The audio book is well narrated but I suspect I'll also want a digital copy that I can thumb through and to copy-paste from.

No Blood for Me, Thanks

I enjoyed the way our author gave a good (tongue in cheek) rendition of Bible verses before reading out loud the actual verses.

It did get a bit long winded, but it was worth it. I wish Christians spent more time researching what it is they truly believe and why. This book could be a great start.

Weather you are curious about the subject, a comic looking for material r a serious researcher, you will love this book. Well researched and fun all around.

Should be compulsary reading

Would you listen to Drunk with Blood again? Why?

I wouldn't have missed this book and would not read it again. It made its point so convincingly, there is no reason to read it again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Drunk with Blood?

No memorable moment as such. The whole book is simply compelling.

Have you listened to any of Brendan Littlefield’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First Brendan performance I have listened to. Very well done.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No specific moment as such. Just being continuously amazed and appalled at the same time .

Any additional comments?

After a while, the book gets repetitive. It cannot be faulted for this as it is supposed to a listing of all the killings as described in the original text. It is simply there is too much killing and for the same reasons. "Do not shoot the messenger".

Would you listen to Drunk with Blood again? Why?

No I would not read it again. I got about half way through it. Not sure if I'll pick it back up, really. It gets monotonous after he kills everybody for no good reasons and just no reason at all over and over again. I think I'd rather worship Dionisis or someone nicer.

What could Steve Wells have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He did a great job. It's the main character and all that gets old. God smites everyone all over (continious genocide) for shitty reasons. When he's not doing it, he has somebody do it for him. Or has whole civilizations do it to themselves while the Jews watch.

Which character – as performed by Brendan Littlefield – was your favorite?

David seems like he got all the ladies, but he lied to a lot of people, cut off a lot of foreskins and committed lots of genocide to get there, so I don't know...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me realize none of my family has read any of the bible. Pretty much point blank. And as a child we were shielded from these stories for good reason.

Yea, read Dennett's 'Darwins dangerous idea,' It's tough, but has some shit that will blow your mind. Unlike the Jew god murdering people mindlessly.

An open and honest and critical look at the Bible

here it is right here very thoughtful very well researched using the Bibles own quotations. this is a critical look at the so-called good book in about the mini gory deaths that have occurred within its pages

Here we have another. Yes this is another of those books that I LOVE to imagine some poor Christian trying make it through ten minutes before they explode. I can already see the pure weakness in their trembling cries that they dare not have their FAITH challenged by ye devils. I do also see however the difficulties that the majority experiences with reading comprehension. Laziness maybe.
A fine book, Steve Wells. A talented performance start to finish, Brendan Littlefield. I most certainly enjoyed the listen and will be going back in more with highlighters in hand.
