Publisher's Summary

Coming in the wake of Fin Gall, Dubh-Linn continues the story of Thorgrim Night Wolf and his band of Viking warriors as they plunder the Irish coast.

Eager to return to his native Norway, Thorgrim agrees to participate in one last raid under the command of a man he does not trust. But the Northmen, he finds, are no longer simply invaders on foreign soil. They have become a part of the Irish kings' ongoing struggle for power, and, far from securing a means to return home, Thorgrim and his men are plunged into a battle for the throne of Tara - a battle that will test their strength and loyalty as none has before.

weird twist

Parts of the story were good, but I hated the deceit fulness of all of the female characters. They all seemed to be the same person in different situations.

Great Fun

The first book was great too. It took a while to get into the narrator's style but I hung in there for the story. I'm going to Ireland soon and look forward to seeing Dubh-Linn

Entertainment, with a great narrator

This book feels like extremely loose historical fiction that's take awhile to gain steam, but when it does, it's a great read. Shaun Grindell is the best narrator I've heard. I thought it was the author judging by how much effort was put into distinct character voices and entonation. A great road trip book. Very manly with all the Vikings and conflicts.

As good as Bernard Cornwell

Every bit as good as the Saxon Series and similar time period and set in Ireland. This is the second in the series. I read the first, Fin Gall, enjoying it completely, and listened to this one, well performed version. Now, on to the next book of the series.

Not bad, as sequels go

After thoroughly enjoying the first book, I was eager to continue the story with the second installment. The performance was just as good as the first book, and the story was overall well done. The climax felt more than a bit telegraphed, however, and the mechanics on how it went down seemed a bit simplistic. Definitely a worthwhile listen, but I’m not so eager to continue the saga after this offering.

Excellent series

I just can’t wait to start the next book in the series.
I finally found the next series in Historical Novels that I can really get into after finishing most of Phillipa Gregory’s books.

I am so intrigued by the history between the Vikings and Irish.

Future Classic

Can't recommend it too much. Characters developing realistically and the gripping story contains subtle truisms which this author can highlight without spelling them out. Really enjoyable book..
