Story
Montana Coggeshall is feeling the squeeze - and not just because of his new leather pants from the goddess Eona. His little safeholding in the ruthless world of Vuldranni is under siege. On both sides. At the front is Lord Caticorix, a grade-A Imperial flunkey if there ever was one. He's clearly ridiculous, but the army he brought with him might not be. Plus they're bent on blocking Coggeshall from getting any food or supplies from the outside world.

Just yesterday, Ben was a petty criminal getting by on fleecing New York’s one-percenters. Today, he's got a new face, a new name, and a new world to navigate. And Ben’s thinking maybe this time around, he’ll use his skills at disarming and deceiving to help out people other than himself. Maybe. Watching a medieval City Guard fight off a 20-foot-tall ooze that crawled up from the sewers will make you think twice about life decisions.

It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

After dying and being reborn into a world that's built like a video game, Jim has found himself stuck in a very old-world style new-player zone for low-level adventurers. Unfortunately, the zone fell out of use centuries ago, and no one told the monsters they were supposed to take it easy on the Noobs. Even worse, the only new player around is Jim. Jim has been given an opportunity, and he'll do his best to take advantage of it.

Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

Publisher's Summary
When Montana first started playing in iNcarn8, his new game life, he just wanted to be one of the good guys for a change. But despite his impressive stats and incredible heroics, even his followers are just plain scared of him. Trouble keeps pouring down Montana, even in the remote, supposedly safe holding he's building into his dukedom.
All that will have to change if Coggeshall is going to survive. Walls go up and homes get built, but Montana can't shake the feeling that none of it will be enough to keep out the problems of the Empire. Or the world of Vuldranni.

Please stop the whining.
Ok, let's start with the good. Great world and character development, great action scenes, good plot twist, and good move not falling into any troupes.
Now the part I'm getting a bit peeved with. Could we please stop crying about just wanting to be a nobody fisher, that fell by the wayside literally two books back. Also the deal about his past relationship turning him into a celibate monk is one of those troupes I was hoping to avoid. Don't need another harem king or anything, but come on.
So I'll end with saying it's a great book, a great series, and E.U. is a great author with great wit and references in his works.

Gods above.
An absolutely hilarious and riveting series.
At the end of the last book it seemed like Montana royally fucked up, however it was slightly overblown. It didnt blow up in his face, rather it was just another problem to add to the list.
The author has crammed so many problems, quests, and just pure content into this series that it is painfully clear all of it will not get done. Overwhelming odds are fine. But the ratio of problems to time spent on these books is all off.
The narrator does a great job as well. I love the way he portrays Montana and his speech pattern.
Overall, another fun and exciting book in the series. You better keep them coming though Ugland. It is a terrible thing for an author to pack all this great content in and not wrap it up nicely. As a reader, and truthfully, a huge fan, I could not be more disappointed if you were to stop the series aburptly. Take my money and keep writing!

Fun world
This series has a fun and interesting world. The MC has interesting skills, and kicks some ass. However, I am getting increasingly frustrated with the way he lets all the other characters walk all over him though! It seems like with every new group of people he meets, he goes to incredible lengths to save them from whatever their issues are. Then they are grateful and happy only long enough to swear to follow him, and immediately afterwards they fear, distrust, and completely disrespect him for no apparent reason. Then instead of doing anything about it, the MC broods and gets all sulky, throws himself little pity parties until it’s time to save the ungrateful wretches once again. He is supposed to be in charge but it seems like there is no consequences for everybody to openly disrespect and disparage him. It is getting harder to put up with this and stay interested in the rest of the story. Also Nickoli is super irritating and I wish the MC never bothered rescuing his dumb ass!!! Anyway, I still bought the next book, but if these problems keep up I don’t think I’ll be into continue reading this series...
Oh, but the narrator is great.

Great performance, good writing albeit, short.
Great writing by the author.
Enjoyable performance by the narrator.
Love the interplay between the mc and secondary characters.
The only thing i can complain about is as follows;
5 books in and the MC seems incapable of adapting beyond growing in a single way, strength and constitution. Would really like to see some progress in this area soon.
The primary issue i have with the series is the length of each "book". Eight and a half hours is quite short in the realm of audio books.
I can most definitely recommend this series. While each book may be shorter than id have liked the bang for your buck is still up there with other series i rate among my favorites.

Another money grab by Recorded Books and Ugland
What a surprise... this is the fifth, half-a-book in this series. Once again we get (less than) half of an epic fantasy novel for the price of an actual epic fantasy novel.
The economics might make more sense on the ebooks, but this is just a blatant attempt to grab the cash (or our credits) with both hands.
If this were the low-attention-span, Tom Clancy, airport drivel that has a maximum page count of 220 so people don’t get “intimidated” by the chore of reading a long book, Ugland and the publishers might be able to make a case for putting out all these half-stories.
But it’s not that. This series is actually good, or at least better than the harem-barf that has been clogging my recommended cue. Consequently it actually makes me want to go looking for the audiobook version of “Napster.”
Actually, if one exists and has any of Ugland’s titles on it, then this was the absolute last credit I’ll be spending on this series. The way I see it they owe us 2.5 more books for the credits we’ve all already spent on this series.
Nice job publishers, you’ve turned me to a life of internet crime.

Still an ok story, still frustrating to listen to
The last book covered the preparation for city building, and in this one we get to the city building. Montana still does stupid things and gets yelled at for it, more than half of the mistakes are still due to not knowing the rules of the world, Montana is still trying to seek answers to how the world works, and Montana still gets yelled at for asking just about ANY question. At this point I feel like this is an ongoing LitRPG story of the The Three Stooges; Montana is Curly, and the rest of the world are mostly Moe's mixed with some Larry's...
Best things about this book is Neil Hellegers, which I'm interested in hearing in some other book.
