Evan was just an average guy working as an EMT, but when he puts on an ancient dragon mask, he’s teleported to the magical world of Inati as a powerful black dragon. Now, he’ll have to save a beautiful priestess, rebuild a broken city, and fight a horde of zombie-like monsters led by an ancient demonic evil. If he wins, then the opportunity to build his powers, treasure horde, and empire will await him. If he loses, then his new friends will all suffer fates worse than death.

"Dude! It finally came!" My roommate barely withheld his excitement as he barreled into the living room of our apartment with a package in his hand. "Check it out, Jacob." He smiled as he tore at the brown paper surrounding his purchase. As he ripped the covering off the package, bits and pieces scattered all across the floor of the living room like confetti. For a second, I thought about lecturing Todd about not making a mess of our apartment, but who was I kidding? This place was already a shithole. At least some half-assed confetti would make it feel a little livelier.

They call me mad, but I don’t see anything wrong with using science to create the perfect monster girl. They call me insane, but I just want to live my life with a harem of beautiful cat-girls, bear-girls, fox-girls, snake-girls, and...well, pretty much any type of monster girl. They call me a megalomaniac, but why wouldn’t any red blooded man want to make cute babies with all these beautiful monster girls? They call me evil, but they just don’t realize that I’d destroy anyone who tries to harm my monster girls.

Publisher's Summary
What would you do if you were the most powerful dungeon deity in the world and the bindings keeping you trapped within your dungeon were broken? Would you escape? Would you acquire a party of beautiful female minions? Would you use your new minions to conquer other dungeon deities, consume their magic, and grow even more powerful? Would you take over the world? Would you then take over the heavens and destroy the gods?
Yes, you would do all of the above.

Sounded cool, really wasn't
I didn't get through the story.
The MC starts off saying how he's a dark god and total evil and then acts the complete opposite. He comes across as totally OP and can do some cool things, but then in execution it feels like one excuse after another why he can't do something - which was very off putting.
The other thing that really prevented me from listening further is the voice actor. I know they were trying to do the voice of the MC but it just became so grating that I couldn't listen further.

DO NOT Listen at Normal Speed
Listen to the sample... That is the voice you are going to hear for 13 hours. 1 hour into the book and you will be begging the narrator to drop the character's cadence and just read the damn book. If this had been written in 3rd person, or the narrator hadn't picked a cranky old grandpa voice. This may have been a better story.
I have found that listening at x1.25 makes the book way more bearable. That said, it's a terrible story.
All said, it might be better to read this one, not listen.

Disappointing
I’m not going to write five paragraphs just to tell you all of the problems I had with this book so I’m just going to write a list.
1. The main character is supposed to be this evil dungeon Lord that is seeking to destroy the heavens. He recruits 4 women to help him because of “reasons” and set out to conquer other dungeons. The problem I have with this is that the main character is not evil at all. Your minds me of my grandfather with evil voice. He is extremely nice to the women that he’s traveling with even though they are disrespectful to him. He is extremely naïve especially for someone that has lived for more than 1000 years. And he is extremely boring.
2. The way the book describes the story implies a harem but it’s more like a journey with a man and his grandchildren.
3. No world building at all. The first time they visit a town they sell their stuff and leave. They talk about staying a night but it never happens.
4. This book is extremely slow on the boring parts and really fast on the good parts.

Weak main character development
I want to first say that I have enjoyed a lot of Eric Valls books. But this book was hard to get through. The basic premise is that a fallen God upon veiwing a few women decides to leave his dungeon from boredom and a want to help the women become better. But the entire book the fallen God does absolutely nothing. He basically just stands silent watching the women figure out everything. He doesn't help the women progress or teach them anything. It was frustrating reading this book, spending the whole time thinking how worthless the main character is. Again I enjoy Eric Valls work and look forward to more books from him. This book was rough though.

No tention at all
As the title says really. After it's clear he's not gonna kill the girls, or replace one with a meat puppet, the tention in the book drops to zero fast. It becomes clear rapidly that nothing is really a match for him, not even other gods(diatys). The only reason the book isn't half as long is because the MC "allows" the gods of other dungeons to do their thing so he can "train" the girls.
The MCs morals are unclear as well. They kinda flip flop through the entire book. Going between caring about a "tragic" (predictable) backstory, and torchering and God, and a stupid dude. The reasoning for each action hits different spectrums each time he considers them. Not to mention he's a self-proclaimed "underdark" God. Sounds like a bad guy right? He certainly acts like it at times. Then you find out he was cast from the heavens because had sex with a mortal. One he absolutely loved. Who's bad? Who's good? Is there a middle ground? I don't know, it's hard to tell.
Ps. The voice actor is fine, but the voice they chose for the MC is.. well there's something about it that makes you subtlety not like the MC. Every other voice is fine, and some are genuinely heartwarming, like Carmony's. I recommend you listen to the preview before buying.

I had higher hopes for this book.
I thought that this book would be about either a Dungeon Core, or a Dungeon Master, that finally breaks free from its bonds to finally wreak havok on the world.
What I found was something different.
And not in the good way.
An entity that claims that he is evil, but is nothing more but a grumpy grandpa in comparrison.
And the protagonist is naïve to boot.
Claims that he is centuries old but dosn't seem to recognise other entitys domains. Or use the knowledge that he should have, thanks to his age and claimed power.
The women that is around him is constantly rude to him. Instead of showing an ounce of his "attitude" from his time in the dungeon, he is patient with them.
I don't know if I want to continue this book series.

superficial terrible characters and generic story
A banished god of the underworld trapped in his dungeon awakened after 300 years of slumber. Ready to kill the entertainment that entered his domain.bSounds promising right. Well continuity last for about 20 min.
Mr. evil dark Lord is a friendly guy who through various reasons, ranging from dumb to outright stupid, takes on the 4 adventurers as minions who entered his domain. And that's all it takes for mr. evil to be a caring nice guy.
The first gruelling point is the magic. For a good fantasy book it's important that are rules or guidelines governing it. If not magic simply becomes a maguffin aka a plotdevice to move the story. The main character makes dumb decisions, and simply escapes because he's more powerful.
Intertwining with the above problem is the story. It's thin and simple. All problems are solved by convenient magic. The most powerful mages in the land created x. no problem we have magic y. stuff like that.
Third problem is that the characters themselves are 1 dimensional and arbitrary.
The 4 minions are women and are some are races that are looked down upon. This is also the books reasoning for the women being in the dungeon. To prove themselves.
Unfortunately each fit generic stereotypes that have little to no range or interesting aspects which also applies to the main mr. evil bad but good person guy. The author tries, but fails to make them interesting.
The books premise is excellent. But it fails to capitalise on any of them and instead becomes a tame telling that dries itself out

One of the very few books I’ve returned. Listened to less than an hour of this before having to give up. Unless the narrator was told to voice the Dungeon Master like the character was written in all caps.
