Publisher's Summary

One Last Starship Is Earth's Last Hope!

The Earth had four fleets to fight the invading enemy. The first fleet valiantly protected earth, but it wasn’t enough. Three fleets would arrive soon and end the threat...but they never came through the wormhole. One ship escaped the massacre, fleeing deep into space while the rest of Earth’s defenses were destroyed. Only the barrier around the planet keeps the enemy from finishing what they started.

Ten years have passed for the USS Orlando. Captain Brian Shepard and his dwindling crew are dedicated to saving their home. The mighty Tol'konian Empire is equally determined to capture them. Captain Shepard is certain there is a way to find those missing three fleets. The answer rests with a human scientist lost in the galaxy, but when the crew of the USS Orlando locates him, they encounter a strange alien who can help them find the answers they seek.

Alone, hunted, and scared, Earth's last starship is Earth's last hope. The Tol'konian Empire controls most of the galaxy and will stop at nothing until they have a secret that Earth is protecting. Can the crew of the Orlando survive long enough to save their home planet? How did 3,000 ships vanish in a blink of the eye? Can a crew of five change the course of history and save humankind from extinction?

ugh

A redneck captain, who is an idiot, a lone starship the only hope against The Empire and an Engineer who is obviously a Scotty if he were from Texas. clichés and clear star trek and star wars technology hodgepodge together. I could not get very far into the book.

I Liked It

A nice blend of action and fantasy that is sure to please. Bildner’s narration was solid too. Dialogue was a little kiddy at times, but didn’t detract from the overall story in his unique universe.

Good Work By The Author

Taking place on Earth, the last of humanity’s survival rests on a small band of heroes lead by Captain Shepherd to find a lost fleet before the shields protecting the earth are destroyed. That’s the setup and the delivery was even more impressive. Give this one a try if you like science fiction. Very rewarding.

Impressive

Peyton does sci-fi well and this one was a real treat. Bildner is a great narrator and he handles the voices of the characters with ease. Pick this one up if you like Firefly or The Expanse.

Loved It

A fun sci-fi romp that most will enjoy. Audiobooks are great ways to jump right into reading and as long as the narration is good, you’d be pleased. It’s not different with ELS. Well produced and written, the cast of characters were very intriguing. Peyton is a good storyteller. Grab it.

Good One

Overall, it was well done and I found myself rooting for Captain Shepherd and hoping that he would be the hero I wanted him to be. He didn’t disappoint. I won’t give it all away but let’s just say that part two is already downloaded and ready for listening.

A Solid Book

Solid book here with ELS and Shepherd’s crew of unassuming heroes were well written. The hard core scifi elements built on a solid fantasy prose that kept me engaged. Give it a spin if you can.

SciFi Fantasy Adventure

I did not like the book cover but the blurb had me intrigued and the audiobook hooked. There was plenty of adventure and it was fast paced. I would recommend it to those who love scifi adventures.
