I spent 20 years waiting for Trent Hennington to open his eyes and see me. But it was all for nothing. He chose to keep himself guarded and let me walk away, proving that my time and efforts were wasted. I'm done being invisible. It's time to move on. Wolfe Conrad is in hiding, and he’s come to Huckleberry Bay to heal. A career-ending accident on the track nearly took his life, and now he seeks refuge to try and build a new one. The quaint town’s slow pace rattles the man who’s first love is fast cars—and then there’s the beautiful innkeeper, who rattles him in different ways. Falling in love with Luna definitely isn’t part of Wolfe’s plan. Local legends that tell of unrequited love and despair? Unbelievable. But stranger things have happened, like two strangers falling in love....

There were no friendships with other celebrities’ children. But now, at 25, I’m ready to start my life, working for my father’s production company - until Vaughn Barrymore walks through the door.

New Hope, South Carolina is my home. It’s where I grew up, got into trouble, and fell in love for the first time. Scarlett Kincaid was more than the girl next door, she was my best friend, until she decided that small town life wasn’t for her. The girl I used to fish with down at the creek is now the biggest name in country music, and I haven’t seen her since she left. Until today when she sped through town in her fancy car. One look at her big brown eyes was all it took to stir up a whole slew of emotions. Emotions I’d long ago buried and sure as hell don’t have time for.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

Landon Connor is a man of many talents - all business magazines agree on that. My family calls me a workaholic, but being driven and career-focused is what turned me into a hotshot CEO. I have good reasons for keeping my personal life on hold. Then Maddie Jennings walks into my life and makes me question all my choices. Maddie says she hasn't met anyone like me before, and hopes she never will again. Good. Publisher's Summary
The Boudreaux Series. Sexy. Intriguing. Easy.
Simon Danbury, an internationally sought-after motivational speaker, helps women from all walks of life with love, self-esteem, dating, and career building skills. Handsome, witty, and wealthy, Simon seemingly has everything a man could want. But appearances can be deceiving. While Simon may have the answers for millions of women all over the world, when it comes to his own love life, he's a giant, sexy mess. Divorced, and convinced that he'll never love again, the very last thing he expects is one Charly Boudreaux.
Charly doesn't want to be at this seminar in the middle of nowhere, but her sister made her go. She's the one who has her life together. Great career, amazing family, nice home, and loyal friends. So what if she doesn't have a man? She doesn't need one. If she's learned anything in her almost 30 years, it's that men are more trouble than they're worth. And they have a nasty habit of breaking your heart into a million tiny pieces. So she'll sit through all of Simon's touchy feely crap and go home and get on with her life. Except Simon isn't really spouting crap, and when he smiles at her, the butterflies are ridiculous.
Never mixing business with pleasure, Simon finds Charly, a bright spot in a universe that's been dark for too long. But will he be able to resist her? And why would he want to?

Liked it well enough, but....
Dear Kristen Proby,
DO NOT WHITEWASH SLAVERY. Saying they were “given homes” and treated well, does not in any way make it okay or diminish the fact the their ancestors OWNED human beings. The homes were not "given" to the slaves, they were simply a means to protect their investments. And they were in no way treated well because they were PRISONERS forced to work in horrible conditions for FREE. There is nothing okay about it, nothing that can be said to make 400 years of human suffering okay, and time can't erase it unless people buy into this BS that you were slinging.
It would have been better, much, much better, if you had the Boudreaux family acknowledge the atrocities committed by their ancestors, and keep the slave quarters to remind people, themselves and others, how terrible it was and how human beings can become monsters and still convince others it's okay. Keep the slave quarters so people don't forget what can happen, not because they're the homes the slaves were 'given'.
This colored the rest of the story for me. I was so angry. I let it slide in Gabby's story and convinced myself she was re-humanizing the slaves, as the only way such a thing could happen is if people are dehumanized, if they become things on a shopping list: Flour, Sugar, male child, aged 6, female, aged 12.
Hearing Charlotte say they were 'treated well' and 'given homes' was too much.

Decent Story. Great narration except for accent.
This was a decent story. I think I liked it better that the first couple of books in the Boudreaux series. There was more story and less sex in this book. Always a plus when there a story to read\listen too.
I really liked Charly, she was a great strong female character and I loved her shoe store! LOL I liked Simon too, he was handsome, and of course rich. The chemistry between these two was good. It wasn't an insta lust sex fest at first sight. They actually got to know each other so the relationship felt more genuine and not forced. There was plenty of sex, it just didn't take over the story.
The story line and plot was pretty typical for this genre, no mystery or anything like that. Just boy meets girl get to know each other and have a HEA with of course at least one misunderstanding.
There was lots of dialogue throughout the entire book which was good.
As for the narration. Well, as much as I love Sebastian York, Simon was from England. There was no accent for him from SY. And Rachel Fulginiti tried to give him the accent at times but it was a fail on the accent. Otherwise the narration was very good.

British character without the accent?
Would you try another book from Kristen Proby and/or Sebastian York and Rachel Fulginiti ?
The story was interesting enough but was not my favorite of The Boudreaux series. However, the narration fell flat. The British dialect was present, but neither narrator adopted the English accent. I was frustrating since the Louisiana drawl is heard throughout.

Readers made it hard to listen
Any additional comments?
These books are cute even if the author using the same sex scenes and jesters often. The issue with this book is if you have someone from England then use an English reader. Both readers are not good with the accent and should have just read in their original voices, which still would have distracted but you might not laugh.
Best book in this series so far is Melody!

If you are a stickler for accents, read this; don't listen.
I once wrote in a review that Sebastian York could read the phone book and I would love it. I was wrong. He can't do a British accent, and he shouldn't be cast to read one. The female narrator is great for Charley but isn't great at the British accent either. Better than York, but not great. Seriously...I love him, but if you only pronounce one of every 1000 words with an accent, why bother?
The story was good, but just read this installment and listen to the rest.

F...ing!!!
After listening to all of the five books l realized that falling in love was not the common thread but having sex was the glue that held this series together. The same descriptive sex scenes over on over again.
There is a plot or two in each book that would make the stories so much interesting but that normally comes in the last few chapters and very quickly.
The characters are great and enough to make you want to listen to all five books but what is annoying is they use all the same phrases to describe someone such as ”whisky eyes.” l thought that might be a Southern thing until the man from London said it. They also use the same descriptions when having sex especially oral. I was starting to wonder was l taking a how-to course in oral sex.
I don't want to give any spoilers away but this one l can not help. ”The Inn ” is talked about in every book but it's the same conversation so you don't learn anything new about it except in book 4, one of those good plots l mentioned. And then there are the slave’s quarters. Let's just say l am African American and every time they were brought up l was expecting something more to come from it besides it's our family history or we feed and clothe our slaves. Maybe since this family is so rich and still has the receipts of all the slaves it would have been nice to know that some slave descendants who they owned, were equally in the family business. Or the family allows universities to come and view the slave quarters for black history studies.
I hope the author acknowledges her audience is diverse.
Again, the family that the books are focus on is interesting l just wished she used different narrators because when it's time to focus on the next sibling he or she sounds like the one before, attitude and all.

Disappointing
It seems to me that all the characters are basically the same, only the names have changed. The preview at the end of Easy Melody had me hyped for this, but what a let down. Where was the British accent? I love Sebastian York and Rachel Fulginiti's voices, but they were not meant for this one. This was a diluted version of all the books before it and I started this with Savannah's story, which I still think is the best.

Another great book
A great book good story line, shame about the English accent or lack of it the male reader was so American trying to portrait an English accent but failed! Being British myself it stood out, however, I still enjoyed the book.
