The whole planet was introduced to the multiverse by an unfeeling System...or God. A universe where an endless number of races and civilizations fought for power and dominion. Zac finds himself stuck in the wilderness surrounded by deadly beasts, demons, and worse. An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

I never believed in the whole “light at the end of the tunnel” folly where people, after having a near-death experience, would startle awake in a cold sweat exclaiming, “I saw the light!” But there I was, in this so-called “tunnel” facing a glaring light, when the last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room - the royal bed-chamber, as others called it. Had I died? If so, how? King Grey once benefited from unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability but now finds himself reborn in a society dominated by magic.

Publisher's Summary
Audiobook 7 of the best-selling Eden's Gate series!
The Scourge have launched an attack, and the Freelands are overrun with Ergoth’s army of orcs and goblins. Travel is no longer safe, trade is at a standstill, and Edgewood Village is in ruins.
With the guild in desperate need of gold, Gunnar treks through the battle zone to complete an unresolved quest and is faced with a moral dilemma unlike anything he’s ever experienced in Eden’s Gate.
His choices lead him to join forces with some unlikely companions and sends him straight into the heart of the Wastelands.
Orcs would never allow humans to enter the Wastelands freely, so how exactly will he get inside, and what secrets are lurking deep below the Wastelands' surface?
In an unforgiving land filled with bloodthirsty beasts and monsters, Gunnar will be left questioning: Who is the real monster, and who’s the worst monster of them all?

the world is good concept, story line is good, the side characters are mostly good Aaron is annoying as hell, but the worst is the Mc he is a whiney, self absorbed, MORON, that acts like the world has to be fair and gets pissy when it isn't, and the the romance is lame "I can't decide which elf I love, or do I still want my lost gf".
I am done with this series

Good book but Gunner is getting dumber by the day.
Good book, but the main character is such a whiney little idiotic twerp that it almost ruins the book. add in that he's scamming on two NPC elf girls while whining about not being able to find his old girlfriend and constantly making poor decisions and drug use. He is one of the most unlikable main characters i've ever read about.

Disappointing
If there is a situation with a good choice and a bad choice, the main character always makes the bad choice. It will be obvious to the reader every time this happens. The main character is not a good person either, although you can tell the writer thinks he is. He’s selfish, dishonest, and sexist - but the writer probably does not see this. In every book so far I have read the line “a man has needs” or another line of the same intent. It’s creepy and a bit gross. I keep hoping this story will get better because the world and the concept are great, but it doesn’t.

Painfully bad
I love this series at the beginning but it gets worse and worse with every book. And this book is horrible to read and with 11 hours to go I think I’m just not gonna move forward anymore. There is no longer any progression and it is just one bad event after another. The great thing about a littlerpg is that they progress. Not this time…You can literally skip to the pount i am at in this book and have missed nothing

Difficult To Complete
To say I was looking forward to this coming out would be an understatement. I was so disappointed when it finally did. The MC is stupid and always makes the wrong choices. On top of that he moans way to much, acts like everything is on him, it isn't, delegation man. As for the sex, or lack of, the MC just needs to shut up and make a choice.

Pleaseeeee Enough of the sexual repression
I honestly don’t know what’s going on with the author, I think the lack of his own physical contact over a world wide lockdown has really influenced his writing this time around.
I’m a big fan of Edens gate but I’m am having to give this book a rest after 28 out of 58 chapters I just can’t take the MC constant bitching about not getting sex, and the way he is treating a guild mate is just not the kinda message that should be put out there. Please sort this out else Edens gate will be no better than those 1980 manga BS

Still going strong
Another enjoyable listen from the Edens Gate series, and looking forward to the next one. Hopefully Edward is on the mend and the next book comes a bit easier for him.
Overall enjoyed this story, but I do agree with some of the other reviewers on the main characters decision making (especially when it comes to potentially jeopardizing alliances).
Looking forward to more guild development and growth in the next one, which it seems to have teased at the end!

Kind of childish but a decent story
I like the story but it’s probably more suitable for 14 year olds. Very childish and quite shallow interactions. Everything is a fist bump, “dude” “cmon bro”. Half of the dialogue is the main character saying “what” and not picking up very obvious context clues.
Cool concept. But can be kind of cringe.
The performance isn’t the worst… but it’s not very good. British accents are TERRIBLE. Seriously.
A lot of the character sound the same. There’s only about 5 voices or so.
