Publisher's Summary

Ink and sawdust meets brisket and moxie

I’m a tattooed casualty.

A charmer, a fraud, a skeptic, and a carpenter.

My name is Tse.

I’m cocky enough to believe my own lies, but too oblivious to see the truth is already out there.

I’m a cautious perfectionist.

A sister, a scrapper, a dreamer, and a workhorse.

My name is Sophia.

I’m capable enough to plan ahead, yet too powerless to avoid getting blindsided.

We’re complete opposites—one who plays it safe, the other a thrill-seeker—but when old sins resurface, bringing violence to the present, our path forward becomes clear.

When your past comes back to haunt you

I was surprised and yet not surprised that these two ended up together. Tse is always willing to help anyone out that needs it. Sophia is pretty much starting over. She lost her best friend in the previous book and has bonded with her baby. When trouble hits, will Tse be able to save her and not have any guilt about why it happened? His past will come back to haunt them. Will they be able to move on from it?

I'm not usually a fan of MC stories. They're just not my thing. But I have enjoyed this series. Yeah, they're a little rough around the edges, but they are a family and they are there when you need them. This series has opened my mind to trying more series like this.

The two narrators, Alan Carlson and Amy Deuchier, are not names I am familiar with. I know they've done a few books in this series and I have enjoyed their voices. I need to search them out and see what else they have done.

Enjoyed the Ride

I thought it was funny that one narrator called Tse (Say) and the other called him (See). I am not sure how Tse is pronounced.

I had never been a big MC fan, but I have seriously been hooked on the Arrow's Edge series. I think the books are best when read in order.

I am also reading a couple of other series where the characters are intermingled with Arrow's Edge. Some characters are in the Rock Point series and some are in the On Call series.

I did like Tse. It took me a while to warm up to Sophia. She was pretty prickly at the beginning. I liked the bond that Tse and Ravi seemed to have. I don't think it was ever said outright, but they seemed to have very similar experiences.

I also thought the narration was well done. This is the first time I believe Ihave heard these narrators, but they managed to keep me engaged in the story.

I enjoyed the brotherhood, the way Tse cared for Sophia, the sense of family. The mystery, suspense, and intrigue was kind of obvious to me in this book, so it was surprising to me Tse and Sophia were surprised when the culprit came to light. She seemed to have more of an inkling that Tse did.

I have to move over to the On Call series so I can read Meredith and Jay's story. Then I can come back for Paco and Mel's story.

Awesome Listen!

Freya Barker is an extremely talented author. I love how she develops the characters, and has them seem very realistic. This book is both a standalone and continuation of the series. Both Amy Deuchler and Alan Carlson brought the characters to life with their voices. I so enjoyed this book.

4.5 🌟 for Tse and Fie

These two touched me. While Edge of Fear can be read as a standalone, it helped that I had read Edge of Tomorrow. It explains Brick and Lisa's closeness to the couple.

Sofia was Brick's daughter's best friend which is how she became associated with the Arrow's Edge MC. I watched how they grew as people and towards each other.

My only issue was that the spice had a closed door/fade to black feel, but other than that... I enjoyed it.

Fantastic

I had the feels for this audiobook. The story gripped me from page one till the end. I loved the characters of Sophia and Cee and their beautiful relationship. I got a hoit from Sophia's hippe parents, Blossom and Duff. They are crazy.
Narrators Alan Carlson and Amy Deuchler were new to me and they were fantastic!

Love is real all around

This book shows love is possible for people who have been through demanding relationships, had a rough upbringing and for kids who have been through hell! The story of Tse and Sophia is heart breaking and happy all at same time! Sophia came to town to live after her best friend was murdered in the previous book to stay close to the baby and the friendships she built during sad times! The MC offered her a job that gave her freedom to manage their restaurant! Some weird stuff was happening there so Tse wouldn’t leave Soph alone. When one of the kids Raphie from the MC house showed love for Sophia new dog and opened up about his past to Sophia it tugged at her heart strings! She took him under her wing and found different things for him to “take care of” to keep him smiling. Raphie was a huge help when all the crap Sophia gets put through that she does something so special for him towards end of book! The relationship Tse and Sophia build during all of this had me laughing at times and crying at times. The obstacles these characters get put through is nuts! If you want all the feels in a book this series is it! Can’t wait for the next book to get released

Love-Love-LOVE this story and the characters!

I find myself saying this more and more about this authors work. LOVE-LOVE-LOVE!! These characters are simply amazing! I enjoyed watching Tse make changes in his life as realization hits that he found his girl. He says so many wonderful comments and thoughts about his feelings and actions. Sophia has plans and they dont include Tse. But the club and other areas conspire against her. Sadly Danger lurks in her future

I HAVE to mention the secondary characters in this one! They really add to the story and made me laugh at times and others *feel* for them. A momma, a boy and a dog…those three were my favorites

I did listen to this on audio. Alan Carlson and Amy Deuchler are the narrators. They both do amazing but Alan as a gruff older man is HOT!
I look forward to more in this series.

Tse & Sophia(&Ravi!)

There is something special about the way Freya Barker writes her stories. Several things come to mind immediately for me. I know her characters are going to have depth, she is going to have a plot that has some meat to it and a a love story woven in to fill my heart. This one is no exception. Sophia has come to town to be near Finn, her friend's son. After failed relationships she is trying to start over and has been given a job by the Arrow's Edge MC to run one of the restaurants. Tse, alpha protector has taken a shine to the woman, but has held back a little. Now he is all in and making his claim. But Sophia is feisty and independent, and doesn't take to the over protectiveness that Tse offers. The banter between these two is fun, and definite foreplay! Chemistry galore these two are meant to be together. But danger is lurking, and between home and the restaurant, Tse's mission is to keep her safe. Will he be able to do it? Plus we have the addition of Ravi, a boy with a troubled past that Tse can easily relate to. These two together is enough to melt my heart. He comes to play an important role in this makeshift family, but he too has found himself in middle of it all. I love how Barker has the MC envelop all who come to be part of the "family". There is nothing they won't do for each other, and it is a great escape to listen to. Loved this 4th installment of the series, and do hope it continues!

Amy Deuchler and Alan Carlson are our storytellers, and together they bring this story to life. Deuchler has a warmth to her voice that I love. She creates Sophia with spunk and independence, yet with a big heart. Carlson is a favorite of mine, and he nails Tse. The protective alpha comes easy, and he can bring the ruthfulness out and in the next scene be a teddy bear. Loved the narration and the story.

Great taming of a bad boy!

Fiona had a rocky introduction to Arrow’s Edge MC but she’s been welcomed into the fold and is managing the MC’s restaurant. Ok, let’s amend that to say that everyone but Tse has welcomed Fiona. The chemistry is there but ‘player’ Tse has no intention of giving up his ways…until Fiona is in danger…them Tse can no longer stay away. Enjoyed this story immensely…how could you not when you meet Fiona’s hippie parents? Bad guys get caught and an orphaned boy gets his forever family. Fantastic narration! You won’t regret this listen!
I am so looking forward to the next book!

Tse and Sophia!

Tse is a member of the Arrows Edge MC who has overcome a difficult past. From his first meeting with Sophia he is drawn to her but knows that he needs to keep his distance not only because one of his brothers is interested in her but also because she deserves more than he can give her.

Sophia’s romantic past has ensured that she isn’t about to repeat her previous mistakes by letting another man into her life. She may be attracted to Tse, but that doesn’t mean that she is about to let him into her life without a fight.

Sophie has worked hard for the independence that she now has while Tse overwhelming need to protect is tempered by his understanding of what she needs. They take us on a suspenseful yet romantic journey as they realize that letting someone into your life and heart isn’t a weakness but a strength. I enjoyed the performance of the narrators as they brought the characters and their story to life.

wow

loved the dual narration of Amy Deuchler and Alan Carlson

The action in the book is fast and will pull you right into the story.
Tse is in his early 40s and has been with the MC since he was 17 after he ran away from badly abusive foster care. Sophia is 35 and is single after a disastrous relationship with someone exceptionally controlling.
Neither of them are looking for love or romance. Sophia is working in the restaurant that the MC own . After an violent attack Tse sees that Sophia’s safety is his job and their relationship grows
