Story
The Path of Alchemy introduces the history and basic laws of this ancient practice, and explains how it ties into Qabala, tarot, astrology, and the four elements. Safe, modern techniques - based on spagyrics (plant alchemy) - for producing distillations, stones, tinctures, and elixirs are given, along with their uses in physical healing, spiritual growth, psychic experiments, initiation, consecration, spellwork, and more. Each chapter includes meditations, projects, and suggested reading as aids to "inner transformation," an equally important aspect of alchemy.

Publisher's Summary
The first book to explore the history and influence of egregores, powerful autonomous psychic entities created by a collective group mind:
- Examines the history of egregores from ancient times to present day, including their role in Western Mystery traditions and popular culture and media.
- Reveals documented examples of egregores from ancient Greece and Rome, Tibetan Buddhism, Islam, modern esoteric orders, the writings of H. P. Lovecraft and Kenneth Grant, and the followers of Julius Evola and Aleister Crowley.
- Provides instructions on how to identify egregores, free yourself from parasitic and destructive entities, and destroy an egregore, should the need arise.
One of most important but little known concepts of Western occultism is that of the egregore, an autonomous psychic entity created by a collective group mind. An egregore is sustained by belief, ritual, and sacrifice and relies upon the devotion of a group of people, from a small coven to an entire nation, for its existence. An egregore that receives enough sustenance can take on a life of its own, becoming an independent deity with powers its believers can use to further their own spiritual advancement and material desires.
Presenting the first book devoted to the study of egregores, Mark Stavish examines the history of egregores from ancient times to present day, with detailed and documented examples, and explores how they are created, sustained, directed, and destroyed. He explains how egregores were well known in the classical period of ancient Greece and Rome, when they were consciously called into being to watch over city states. He explores the egregore concept as it was understood in various Western Mystery traditions, including the Corpus Hermeticum, and offers further examples from Tibetan Buddhism, Islam, modern esoteric orders such as the Order of the Golden Dawn and Rosicrucianism, the writings of H. P. Lovecraft and Kenneth Grant, and the followers of Julius Evola and Aleister Crowley. The author discusses how, even as the fundamental principles of the egregore were forgotten, egregores continue to be formed, sometimes by accident.
Stavish provides instructions on how to identify egregores, free yourself from a parasitic and destructive collective entity, and destroy an egregore, should the need arise. Revealing how egregores form the foundation of nearly all human interactions, the author shows how egregores have moved into popular culture and media - underscoring the importance of intense selectivity in the information we accept and the ways we perceive the world and our place in it.
Critic Reviews
“Stavish gives not only theories but also facts and examples of these forces in spirituality, politics, news, and entertainment. More importantly, he explains how to recognize and free ourselves from their influences if we so choose.” (George Noory, host of Coast to Coast AM)
“Egregores: The Occult Entities That Watch Over Human Destiny marks a major turning point in popular esotericism, with Mark Stavish tackling head-on our society’s most pressing issue - the psychic and physical embodiment of ideologies and systems - with a penetrating and insightful text addressing the hidden life of thoughtforms as they emerge in our culture through mass movements, fundamentalist sects, corporate branding, and identity politics. Put down the fake news, pick up this book, and find out why Enoch warns us that the cosmic control system’s been put on divine probation!” (David Metcalfe, editor in chief of Threshold)
“It is a memorable day when the concept of the egregore enters one’s worldview. While these energy-complexes have been around as long as humanity, this is the first book to explain how they work and what to do about it. Mark Stavish’s clear writing and rich examples should convince any reader, whether schooled in esotericism or simply curious about their inner and outer world.” (Joscelyn Godwin, author of Athanasius Kircher’s Theatre of the World)

Not Bad, Not Great
This book was interesting and worth the read, as there is little literature on Egregores, but I could have done without any political slant. If you aren’t into Alt-Right politics, do yourself a favor and skip the “Foreword.” Unfortunately, the book starts off on a disappointing foot, though as the author proceeds, the political slant dissipates, thankfully. However, it’s still like someone passed gnarly gas in a small room, and then asks you to sit for a story as the stench lingers. But, if you’re interested in this topic, it’s still readable.

Veteran Author with Excellent Reading
extremely well written and needed to understand current state of media mind manipulation. will help you get a better control of your mind by teaching you how to avoid egregores forced on us from every direction. its really a must read and written by an author with a long history of dedicated work and publications in hermetics and alchemy. This is original material that you will likely not find in other books. my biggest struggle with mainstream pccult books is knowing all of the material bcs the author has basically resummarized what they learned from similar books. This is the rare case of groundbreaking material that is highly applicable to present situations in life. The audible book is read very well and keeps your attention throughout the reading. If more people were aware of the occult it would be a ny times best seller.

Should have hired a voice actor
The authors reading is terrible. Mispronouncing necronomicon as "necromonicon" is annoying, but the absurd way that the author tries to impart drama to the reading is almost impossible to get through.
Other reviewers mention the authors overt statements of right-wing libertarian politics as if they are apolitical truisms. They make the author sound like a precocious high school student in a creative writing class. The initial mention of "antifa" and then the loving, almost sensual, quoting of Julius Evola sound silly and make it difficult to follow the actual point he is attempting to make.
It's an interesting subject despite all this. The author seems really intent in injecting himself into what is really the presentation of prior works on the subject of Egregores. It's still good, just wish this guy would turn it down a notch or five.

Ignore accusations of Racism. Good Book
Don't let the frantic voices of cancel culture deter you from getting the book. These are the same people that think Dr Seuss books are racist and need to be cancelled lol. Aside from defending the book from the new church ladies who are perpetually offended I would say that it is a very interesting read. My favorite books from Stavish are "The Path of Alchemy" and " Between the Gates" but this is a solid book on a subject that gets almost no attention elsewhere.

For people healing from cults
Absolutely amazing for people who are healing for having been part of a cult. Especially spiritual cults who come across open and free yet use black magic behind the scene to brainwash play mind games and manipulate your life and those close to you. This book has been the most important tool in helping me understand the mind games and hence help me heal. I realise I needed to understand the demonic dynamics of the cult first before I could hope to start to heal. The healings shifts have been deep and sudden. I am alsolutely grateful and would love to meet this gifted author one day. Much love to you all. Always follow your heart 💙

Fascinating, but ultimately a dissapointment
Mark Stavish came highly recommended, and this book looked fantastic, and i have to say that from the first chapter i was hooked. the subject matter is fascinating, and told in an enthralling way by Stavish himself.
However, the book was extremely short - 4 hours approximately, and this was reflected in the very superficial, breezy way all of the topics were addressed. Every single chapter was a very light look at one area of the egregore, from the concept in asian culture, through to Golden Dawn techniques. but all the details given were frustratingly sparse, and every single topic could have been developed much further, and as i was wanting a deeper book i was just left feeling disapointed that none of the big questions were even examined. too brief, too superficial, too light, and didn't live up to any of the promises of the book itself.
its an entertaining 4 hours, for sure, but no real depth found here.

Couldn’t get past the first chapter
Sadly this potentially very interesting content is only seen through a narrow minded gaze that diminishes anything outside of a right wing Christian perspective. The foreword is particularly affected by white supremacy that is hopefully unintentional, but utterly bitter, misguided, misinformed and limiting regardless of intent. I was surprised and disappointed to be exposed to offensive political propaganda regarding the Iranian people in the first two minutes and found it to be in extremely poor taste. Needless to say, I turned it off after the first chapter did not redeem itself.
