Publisher's Summary

The city of the gods. Elantris once stood as the symbol of all that is beautiful. A sprawling metropolis of unrivaled grandeur, it was a symbol of power and strength, built to be as imposing as it was magnificent.

The only thing more glorious than the city itself was its inhabitants, Godlike beings, with silvery skin and hair of the purest, flowing white. Able to create powerful magics with a mere wave of their hands, the Elantrians were able to heal mortal wounds and create any object they desired. To be an Elantrian was to be without sickness, without pain and without want.

And anyone could become a god. Through a process known as the "Shaod",a normal person could go to bed one night and awake the next morning to throw away the shackles of mortality and become a being of incomparable power and grace. With Elantris as their beacon, the light inside all humanity was allowed to shine, elevating it to new heights.

But Elantris fell...10years ago.

15 minutes in ..

I have never reviewed a book before completion but Elantris has been my favorite book since my first reading of it. I was excited about a production of it on this scale but so far I am a bit more annoyed than pleased. I don't think anyone listened to the pronunciation of words from the previous book and it is very noticeable. I'll edit my review after finishing but so far it's grudgingly so.

Fantastic full cast production!

This dramatization of Elantris has everything you would want. Great voice acting. Excellent foley. And heart pounding soundtrack. If you loved Elantris, you won’t be disappointed with this great full cast production.

Amazing author

Brandon Sanderson is my favorite author and I’ve read I think 25 of his books. But this one was a lot slower and has way less action. I would say to go read all of Brandon Sanderson’s other books. (Especially Stormlight Archive and Mistborn) and come back to this one once you’ve finished the rest of his books.

Phenomenal voicing

I listened to it during lunch break, now I have the book! But the acting is so good I think I'll just go to part 2 :')

Wish more was put into it.

I love most of it. However, I do not like that you can hear the actors reading from a page rather than acting from a memorized script. This is a good performance and worth a listen, but when you compare it to the Neverwhere audio drama, it just doesn't measure up.

I do also wish that such a production, with such investment in production, had provided their readers with pronunciations along with their scripts.

Awesome book, great cast

My one small complaint is that the background music and fx mixing gets a little louder than the dialogue sometimes.
