Publisher's Summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Joanna Wylde comes a new story in her Reapers MC series....

Peaches Taylor spent the last seven years slinging drinks and dodging drunks at the Starkwood Saloon. Some might call it a dead-end job, but to her it was an investment - another six months, and she’d have enough money to buy the place.

Life would've been perfect if Eli hadn’t come home.

Eli King is ready to settle down. He stood by his brothers when they needed him, paying the price for their freedom with his own. Now it’s time to claim his reward - the Starkwood Saloon. He’s got the cash to buy the bar, the skills to run it, and just one person standing between him and his dream: Peaches Taylor.

She’s been driving him crazy since they were kids, and not in the good way. When she was six, she shoved a spider down his pants. When he was ten, he locked her in a closet overnight. Then she hot-wired his car at 17, and things got ugly....

They’re adults now, and the Starkwood isn’t a toy to fight over - it’s the hill they’ll die on. No prisoners. No compromises. No mercy.

Peaches Taylor and Eli King are going to war.

Eli & Peaches

A fast paced, interesting, entertaining, and super sultry story. Eli and Peaches have known each other since they were kids and they had a hate/love (more hate than love) relationship. I enjoyed their banter, their steamy moments, Peaches' feistiness, and Eli's alpha bad boy demeanor. These two were absolutely meant to be, they just needed to be open to it. I enjoyed this intriguing and fun book.
Narration was fantastic. Sean Crisden and Tatiana Sokolov truly brought these complex characters to life.

Old enemies!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 😌😎🙃😮

The heroine: Peaches Taylor - she has spent seven years working at the Sharkwood Saloon in Hallies Falls saving up to buy it and run it herself. She is just months away from having enough money to buy the saloon when Eli King returned to town.

The Hero(es): Eli King - he recently returned from prison even bigger and more muscular than when he went in. He was in prison five years for the motorcycle club, spent the time for a crime that wasn’t his. Now that he is home, he plans on buying the Sharkwood from Gus. He is afraid he will have to fire Peaches if she won’t take to him being her boss.

The Story: Peaches has known Eli since she was a child when he moved in with her family. She was five while he was seven. She was jealous of him and the time he spent with Gus, her mother’s boyfriend and his uncle, who used to attend her tea parties with her until Eli came and started spending time with Gus.

The two had driven each other crazy all throughout their childhood. Now they can’t seem to keep their eyes off each other. While in high school, Eli protected her from other guys and while he was in prison he worried about her being out there unprotected.

The book was dual points of view, dual narration. Narrators Sean Crisden and Tatiana Sokolov did a great job and have terrific voices. Sean has a nice deep voice for Eli, and did a fine job doing other voices, like the old codger Gus. There was a lot going on in this story, issues from the past, the issues with Gus and the bar and more. It held my interest and made me want more from this world.

Entertaining

Short and to the point MC romance story. The characters are likable and interesting. The narrators did a good job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene.

So worth the listen!

This is a short story packed with plenty of punch. I miss Joanna Wylde and hope to see more of her work in the future. That being said, this story is a good one, though it has very little MC drama for the most part. Both H/h have a relationship that is relatable and keeps the listener interested. The characters are well developed, fun and interesting. In the short listening time, I found I enjoyed every scenario and Sean Crisden and Tatiana Sokolov both do an outstanding performance.

Great Series

These biker stories are a fun read. My only gripe, petty as it sounds- I live in the Pacific Northwest, so it makes me cringe when I hear the narrators mispronounce the names of some local towns.

Eli’s Triumph

I think Eli is my favorite Reaper. (It’s a toss up between him and Rome.) I’ve really enjoyed all of these novellas. I’m dad this is the last one, I’ll miss this Reaper world. The narration from these two is excellent (as always).
