Publisher's Summary

Is church history about to be rewritten? Contrary to the teachings of church history, do recently discovered ancient parchments indicate Paul - not Peter - was the first Pope?

Crucial pages of the Apostle Paul's parchments have gone missing, and rumors of their contents have the world reeling. Dr. Augie Knox is on a quest to find the pages that reveal what God Himself taught the man who would become the greatest apologist in the history of the Christian church.

Once you start hard to stop before you finish!

The story is very well-written and the narrator is excellent. I always was sorry when I had to put it down and couldn't wait to pick it up again. Good ending too.

Somehow I Missed Something..Summary vs Actual Plot

The narrator is excellent!! The actual story is EXCELLENT!

Initial summary of plot says Dr Augie is on a search to find documents that prove that Paul, rather than Peter was the first actual head of the church in Rome. Since I have always agreed that this "theory" is True, I was excited to hear the story!!!! But I think somehow I missed something.🤔

First, there was absolutely No Mention of ANY of the above plotline! So I'm wondering if the wrong synopsis was placed on this book! Thus the low ratings!

That said...The actual text of the book, the story of Saul's conversion, his violence towards early believers, his wilderness training and potential romance is ACTUALLY EXCELLENT!! Very well written with miracles that are amazing, the actual text of a great percentage of Paul's writings...ohhhh and no annoying references to Paul eating pork and shellfish at every opportunity. I've started and eventually been unable to finish several stories about Paul because so much time is usually spent on that very thing...well, that and writing as if he became a sensualist because he differentiated between LAW/TORAH not being the unearned GRACE extended to us by the death of Maschiach YaHshua.

Paul actually spent many years living and teaching in Rome, whether imprisoned or in a small house provided for him and provisioned by other believers (Acts 28). Paul was the Apostle to the Gentiles. Peter actually was in Rome for a very limited time, then was crucified, or so say the legends. The fact that THIS wasn't even mentioned at all in the book was another reason that I subtracted points! Had the plot summary been correct, I would have scored it much higher.

PAUL WALKS WITH GOD

What a great book! It started off slow, but not too far into it I realized I was hanging on every word. Paul suffers much but never complains. He walks with God, and he comes alive in this book. I highly recommend it.

It was Okay!

This book wasn’t what I was expecting after reading the description of the book. I’m not turned off and I like the fictional story around Paul’s life and how there are some truths here and there. Other things were head scratchers but I like the creativity. It took we a while to really get into the story but my curiosity helped me complete it.

Grateful reader

Once again Jenkins research, biblical knowledge, and imagination come together in this delightful story. Do yourself a favor and listen to this embellished story of Paul time in Arabia.

Excellent work of historical fiction

Great use of the apostle Paul’s timeline from what we know of his history. This work weaves the facts in such a way that it makes His early ministry come alive.
