Publisher's Summary

In this dazzling collection, Elin Hilderbrand offers nine delicious stories—prequels, sequels, and "missing chapters" from her cherished books—some of which have never been published, until now.

Inside the collection, you'll find:

  • Three years after Mallory Blessing's death (in 28 Summers), her friends gather for another eventful Labor Day celebration on Nantucket in "The Sixth Wedding."
  • The marriage at the heart of Beautiful Day enters uncertain territory when Margot Carmichael encourages her husband to reunite with his ex-girlfriend in "The Surfing Lesson."
  • In "The Tailgate" the weekend of a Harvard/Yale football game recharts the course of "Matchmaker" Dabney Kimball's first—and abiding—true love.
  • In "Summer of '79," the three Levin sisters reunite after a decade after the summer that changed everything.
  • And more . . .

With a foreword by Elin Hilderbrand about the writer's reluctance to leave treasured characters behind and a prefatory, "behind-the-scenes" note included with each story, this book answers the prayers of both new and seasoned fans everywhere who, like the Kirkus reviewer, "would rather be living in an Elin Hilderbrand novel."

Fun

ENDLESS SUMMER is a series of short stories in the form of prequels, sequels, alternate and missing chapters of Elin Hilderbrand’s books. Before purchasing readers should know all but three have been previously published and sold so if you’re like me, you’ve already paid for much of ENDLESS SUMMER. Still, I couldn’t resist getting my hands on the other stories.

I chose to reread each book with the accompanying story, which for me was a wonderful way to revisit Hilderbrand’s finest books. I’m going to miss her when she retires.

SUMMER OF ‘89 was my favorite of the stories, but I enjoyed them all.

Loved this

I absolutely love the little peaks into other books and some of my favorite characters. I so wish that summer of 89’ was a real book. It was so good. I want more. Do Jessie and Pick get married?

So much fun!

Loved this so much. I have read all of Elin’s books but I think this would still be a great read even if you haven’t!

Fun but…..

I love Elin’s books! I was a bit disappointed that there was some redundancy with stories I’d already heard. But fun nonetheless.

My Fault!

This is not even short stories but missing parts of other stories and novels. Wonderful, if you can remember where stories fit in. But for me, I was expecting short stories. Again, MY FAULT by not fully understanding the description. But I suspect I am not the only one. Big fan of Elin Hilderbrand’s stories otherwise.

Love Elin

What a fabulous concept for a "book"...I still wanted more about my favorites from Elin. Loved 28 Summers and Summer of '69 sequels.

Not what I expected from Elin Hilderbrand

I'm a big fan of Elin Hilderbrand and have read all of her books at LEAST once. I'm always excited when a new release comes out, and like all of them, waited anxiously for this one. I don't know if it's because Erin Bennett (to whom I usually love listening)
is maybe bored or tired of narrating Elin's books, but her narration of this one seemed overly animated and artificial. This made the content of the book seem lame, almost desperate. I don't even think I'll finish the listen on this one, and that is definitely a FIRST for me on one of Elin Hilderbrand's books. I guess no one is perfect. :(

Not what I expected.

If I had known this was not a full book, I wouldn’t of purchased it. Very frustrating.
