Great Book

I love this book, very interesting and terrifying at the same time. I wish they made another one about him surviving another natural disaster. This author is one of the most incredible authors in the world.

An excellent ride

This was a good book. Alex (10) and Molly (7) really enjoyed the plot and made the long road trip go faster.

Wrong Narrator

This was, for the most part a nice little kid's story; though much of the middle portion of the narrative was pretty tedious. However the middle aged male narrating this tale from the perspective of a thirteen year old just didn't work. Indeed it was just so jarring, that at times it completely distracted from the story. I know that it's probably impossible to find a thirteen year old male capable of reading an audiobook but I find it hard to believe that a better reader couldn't have been located.

Reader too old to narrate this story!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend the book, but not this particular audiobook. It was very disconcerting to hear a grown man read the voice of the 13 year old narrator. It's a great story, though. Perfect for readers ages 9-12.

A good short story

This was a good story. It was told from the point of view of thirteen-year old Kyle. He was left in charge of his little sister on their vacation in Oregon. Thankfully he made some good decisions in the wake of 2 natural disasters that hit the area they were staying. It's worth the listen.

This was a great read!

Would you listen to Escaping the Giant Wave again? Why?

I wouldn't rent this particular book again, since it was for my daughter to read for her book club. She really enjoyed the experience and loved being able to relax and lay on her couch, while listening. Great time, great book.
