We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Publisher's Summary
The first three books in Anthony Melchiorri’s wildly popular Eternal Frontier series
Eternal Frontier
It was a time of peace, prosperity, and exploration. But when an unexpected attack cripples the SRES Argo, it appears that time has come to an end. Alone in the far reaches of space, Tag Brewer is the ship’s only survivor, and he vows to do everything in his power to seek justice for his fallen crew. But when Tag uncovers a sinister secret about those who attacked the Argo, he realizes far more is at stake than just his survival.
Edge of War
An insidious alien race is waging an interstellar war, enslaving any civilization they encounter to carry out their galactic rampage. Now they have set their sights on mankind. Tag Brewer is a medical scientist, not a ship’s captain, but as humanity’s survival is at stake, he must lead a ragtag crew of humans, a skeptical alien, and a synthetic life form into the depths of enemy territory in hopes of forming an uneasy alliance with a group of aliens fleeing from the destruction.
Shattered Dawn
The Drone-masters are coming, and Earth has no idea. Medical scientist by training and ship’s captain by circumstance, Tag Brewer leads a band of aliens, a few humans, and a synthetic life-form into the deepest reaches of unexplored space. They may be all that stands between humanity and utter annihilation. It’s up to Tag’s crew to unveil the shroud of secrecy surrounding the Drone-masters. He must destroy them before they destroy Earth.

So much potential, but just ok
Not great but not the worst. It sits really in the middle. The first book was hard to get engaged in while the other two had a little more content. The end was so quick and a little disappointing honestly. Not a fan of the narrator's rhythm. I found myself constantly getting sidetracked and having to rewind throughout all three books. This story had a lot of potential and had a few opportunities to get really interesting but never seem to really grab me. I will still check out the author and see what else he has done.

Had promise but didnt deliver.
The story was good enough to keep my attention but the constant use of GD made it hard to finish. The author uses GD and gods be damn (which is really no better ) like it's a exclamation point. Lots of us old fashioned people really do not like hearing the lord's name be blasphemed. Besides that he made the supposed intelligent hero of the book seem like an idiot when confronted by problems. He acted like he couldn't think his way out of a cardboard box at times. The over all story and characters were good and the author has potential . That said with all the blasphemy I dont think I will ever listen to the book again. I'm willing to try another title by the author but if the blasphemy continues in other books by him , I will not be reading or listening to anymore of his stuff.

It has a good story, but wordy
A good plot. If more time was spent on the actual plot and less on internal drama and doubt it would be better. Way too much time is wasted in the details of fights with various aliens. Yes, there is a fight with some creature. Inner thoughts and punch by punch discriptions don't add to the strategy and mission. Way too much time is spent on navel-gazing inner monologue. Dramatic pauses constantly, the slow melodramatic dialog at times that belabors the points that are being made. Hero seems a bit Low-T, not because he isn't barbarian enough, but because he doesn't seem to think like a man.

As a sci-fi author with a hit TV show, I have a few ideas about what alien invaders are supposed to look like. In my stories, they’re technologically advanced monsters, with tentacles, and no faces. Turns out I was right about the technology. And about how angry they’d be. But the way they look is more terrifying than even I could have imagined. They look exactly like us. Because they are us.

Story
As a sci-fi author with a hit TV show, I have a few ideas about what alien invaders are supposed to look like. In my stories, they’re technologically advanced monsters, with tentacles, and no faces. Turns out I was right about the technology. And about how angry they’d be. But the way they look is more terrifying than even I could have imagined. They look exactly like us. Because they are us.
